Meatbeat Hammershaft |
"Yes. We look for family hair loom. Cat, Anna. Like I am Dwarf, Meatbeat." Meatbeat scratches beneath his helmet. "How cat lives in man cave with blob beasts and bite woman for so long is not known to me, but is job now. I guess Anna dead, but want to find anyways."
GM Tektite |
The party heads east, passing a short hall to the north. You notice that there is what appears to be a fissure in the southwest corner of the room as you pass to the northwest. The passageway turns north and the party sees a room with multiple sets of stairs. This crossroads of stairs has one dominant feature: a crumbled statue in the northeast corner, once the image of a proud warrior chiseled roughly in granite. The statue’s helmeted head now rests on the floor, its lifeless stone eyes gazing toward the south. On the helmet, a single Kelish word is carved in the stone. The wide stairway to the west leads to a passage that ends in a cave-in ten feet past the foot of the stairs. The stairway to the north continues on, but you cannot see in the gloom.
Sorry, I said east, but took you guys west, let me know if you want to change direction.
Takahiro |
Takahiro follows on, mind clearly trying to solve the riddle of whether it was a cat or a sword they were after, and where something may have been lost in translation...
Danyn |
Danyn follows. He considers throwing the dagger at the back of one of his companions, but finds himself held back by some mysterious force. Instead, he pretends to shoot fire bolts from the tip and sizzle each of them, quietly making sound-effects to himself.
Kaneka Kasuri |
Kassi follows shaking her head at her companions discussion, though a small smile does break out, on her calm, and mostly serene face. She speaks up, Perhaps, Master Dwarf, we should make haste to save the poor ka-ta-na Taking time to pronounce each syllable.
Meatbeat Hammershaft |
"Yes. We try to save Cat-An-Na." Meatbeat states, forgetting which way is West. Upon finding the helmet statue, the dwarf frowns. "Such nice helmet stone man, but head fell off. We should fix after we haste to save cat."
Takahiro |
"Stonework was not something they trained us in at the monastery I am afraid Master Dwarf, once again I will have to defer to your skills. I suggest though that we may in fact be looking for a sword, not a stray pet... a Katana is also the name of a type of sword from the land of my people, just as Chak-Chak here is of the Tengu which you might refer to as a 'bird man'. Of course, I may well be mistaken, and do not presume to assert that I am right"
Takahiro smiles warmly and benignly, whilst maintaining a composure of hu,bleness and humility.
Danyn |
Danyn scowls at Takahiro for spoiling the joke on the dwarf. He narrows his eyes and fires off one last imaginary fire bolt, right square at the Aasimar's back.
GM Tektite |
Assuming the group agrees on north
Heading north, the party climbs a short set of steps and enters what appears to be a storeroom. This room has a wide corridor exiting it toward the west, that after about 30' ends in a stone wall, and a door to the east. Barrels and boxes of supplies fill the cramped chamber.
Takahiro |
Takahiro edges forward to help search the room, poking with the tip of his Katana to avoid any unwelcome surprises.
"This is my Ka-ta-na" he suggests to Meatbeat in an informative but terribly polite manner.
Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Takahiro |
"Onwards, yes, suppose in the direction we had been travelling" Takahiro once again encourages Master Dwarf to the front, and hurries along behind him, "Soon we shall know whether it is a sword or a cat we are after Master Dwarf!" Takahiro adds, smiling as he goes.
GM Tektite |
The group, led by Meatbeat, move into the next room. This large room was once two, but the wall between them has been partially torn down, and the broken door now serves as a makeshift altar. The candles and strange statues that decorate it all face the dark alcove beyond the broken wall.
Meatbeat spots a group of four kobolds, appearing to be kneeling at a staute. The see the dwarf at the same time and rise, drawing weapons. You think you hear a thin whispering voice in the darkness.

Takahiro hooks around to the right of his Tengu companion, filling in the front line of the party.
Double move to beside Chak-Chak, only have a 20' move :p
GM Tektite |
Chak moves up and strikes a kobold down.
Takahiro moves up, ready to join the fray.
Kassi begins a little ditty.
Danyn delays, looking for the best spot to strike.
Zorlax goes at a kobold with a mighty swing, but the kobold deftly evades the sword by mere inches.
Spurred on by the whispering voice, the kobolds begin maneuvering for combat. The kobolds press in, going after the birdman that just fell their companion.

EDIT: Haha! You cannot evade the peering eyes of the irritable Danyn!

Zorlax |
Round 2
"So you're the one leading these kobolds!" Zorlax charges in and swings!
Power Attack on the whispering figure: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 1 = 6
Damage: 2d6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (3, 5) + 3 + 3 = 14
Where are my rolls lol!
Meatbeat Hammershaft |
Meatbeat moves between the two kobolds (provoking from each) and will bull-rush the one to Chak's right into the corner.
The dwarf moves past the two foes, ignorant of their weapons. "Crow is disgusting for dinner!" he exclaims as he attempts to push the one farther away from the birdman (while getting angrier).
Bull Rush + Rage: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24 I will use my last remaining 5' of movement to follow the kobold in the idea that I am the closest one to him.
GM Tektite |
Danyn moving up, spots a grey humanoind and closes the distance to it.
Meatbeat charges and bullrushes a kobold into the corner.
Chak steps up and brings another kobold down.
Takahiro matches Chak's swing and brings down a kobold himself
Kassi continues her little ditty ?
Zorlax tries to swing at the grey humanoind but misses.
The kobold bumrushed by Meatbeat tries to strike back, but is too startled by the druken brute to connect.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
The grey humanoid steps back and points at Zorlax, a streak of arcane energy shoots forth and strikes Zorlax in the chest.
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Danyn and Meatbeat (and Kassi) have actions this round then the rest of the party
Meatbeat Hammershaft |
DM, I provoked from those two earlier, by the way.
As a move action, Meatbeat takes a big swig of his cheap ale!
He then thrusts himself into the kobold, this times with intent to break some bones!
Helmet Attack w/ Rage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 241d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
