Tomoe Gozen |
Ah that is my part of the work. I guess i am best wth words here.
Tomoe will go through the town and talk to different people, on a market, in taverns and at the harborif possible.

As the party canvases the town, looking for passage to Escadar, they hear three consistent names.
A human woman, Darice never knew her father, and many villagers whisper that he was a member of the Pathfinder Society. Darice resents never knowing her father and some say she longingly caresses the trinket he left behind for her.
A halfling man, Small Otti values his coin, for he has many mouths to feed—most importantly, his own. Small Otti has a weakness for fine food and drink,
and any deal with him is made sweeter if food is involved.
An older human man, Tanner’s skill at sea is unmatched, but so is his lunacy; take a boat ride with him and you might ride straight into a squall. Some whisper that Tanner is not actually crazy, but no
one is brave enough to find out.
Faldoc Tisbane |
Small Otti is my choice, I'm sure we can find a little food arond here. Not sure I want to be with a crazy man on the tides.
Anis Aniland |
Anyone else?
Anyone else what? Vote or aid? I assume we're talking to Darice.
Diplomacy (aid): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Aniland comes along with Tomoe and offers Darice all the aid it is in his power to give in her search for information about her father.
Faldoc Tisbane |
Faldoc will throw his two cents in, he doesn't much care how the party gets there as long as they get there.
Aid Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Faldoc Tisbane |
Seems to be a fair price. Faldoc comments to the others. Guess we'll meet up with her at twilight then?
GM Tektite |
The party meets Darice at the designated time and the party boards her boat. She expertly eases the boat out of the harbor on the incoming tide. Soon enough the vessel in underway. The voyage is uneventful, if long. It takes twelve hours to sail across the strait to Escadar.
As the sun begins to rise above the horizon the following morning, Darice pilots the boat up to the dock of Escadar. She points out the way to the Grindylow's Goblet and bids you safe journeys.
The party gathers themselves together and enters the tavern. The sounds of a busy tavern echo off the wooden walls of this unusual building. Resting precariously over Escadar’s harbor, the Grindylow’s Goblet offers an unequaled view of the water. In the bar’s center, a thick glass aquarium presents a striking display. Within the tank, a coral statue of a goblin with the lower body of an octopus hosts a school of colorful fish that flit about the nooks and crannies of its tentacles.
Faldoc Tisbane |
That was amazingly uneventful. Almost makes me wonder if we'll see her again. Faldoc seems a bit cynical when it comes the ease of the trip over, at no cost no less. So what is our next step?
Badr al Din Ibn Badriyah |
Scout out the room... a few of us enter, see it is safe, then one or two of us, with our expert should enter and make it known that they have arrived, then we wait for developments. I will enter now.
Badr walks in casually, with the intent of buying a drink and taking a table near the door.
Tomoe Gozen |
That man seems to be a veteran of tavern fights and ambushes. I have to visit his homeland some day. But i´m really glad we are on land again. I will do as if i were our experts hostess and travel compagnion and go in with him if you don´t mind.
Malik Van'Hilth |
Malik nods "Good plan". Malik will walk in a few minutes after Badr and get a table across the room from him to cover more of the tavern. Setting his spear down next to his chair for easy access.

Badr enters the tavern and casually cases the place while ordering a drink. He then finds a table at which to sit. Eventually he is joined by the rest of the party.

Ygdnur Copperhand |
Ygdnur sits down and orders a pint of ale. He greedily drinks from it and leaves a bit of foam in his beard, then gets up to take a look at this bizarre statue in the center.
Faldoc Tisbane |
Faldoc will simply sit back and relax with his ale. He'll take note of the patrons in the room, trying to notice if anyone is out of place.

As the party sits at the table sipping their beverages and Anis amuses himself with chasing fish and reaarranging coral in the aquarium, the party see two gillman, a male and a female enter, walk to bar, getting drinks, and take a table. After about a short time, the gillman stand and approach the table. Greetings! I am Shoalo and this is Ahrmisa. He says pointing to his stern faced companion. Are you the Pathfinders? Did you bring the relic? May we see it?
Faldoc Tisbane |
Faldoc will continue to observe the bartender and let one of the others take the lead in the conversation.
Badr al Din Ibn Badriyah |
As the group approaches the party at the bar Badr gets his hands free and makes as if to leave, picking up his musket and searching the table top and floor with his eyes as if looking for change or something.
Anis Aniland |

The gnome bows and answers, "Greetings, Shoalo and Ahrmisa. I am that canny gnome, Anis Aniland, and yes, we are the Pathfinders. Did you bring your relic? Can our appraiser, Mister Rees, examine it?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15If they are talkative, he will also ask "You Low Azlanti most certainly have some interesting wares. Have you ever considered trade relations with Qadira?" Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Shaolo smiles. You Qadirans, always looking for ways to enrich yourselves. If this deal goes well, I will put in a good word, yes. He sets his relic down on the table and Rees follows suit, setting the Pathfinder relic down next to it.
Suddenly Rees' eyes go wide and he chokes on his drink, sputtering. It's a fake! Their relic is a fake! Get our relic! At the moment that Rees begins yelling, the party hears a glass shatter near the bar. Suddenly, every torch in the tavern flares into a blinding light, as Shoalo reaches for the party's relic.

Anis blindly blesses the party.
Badr fires at gillman grabbing for the relic. The projectile punches into the humanoid's shoulder.
Shoalo reaches forward, grabs the relic, and turns to move toward the door.
Ahrmisa follows her companion, getting in front of him to fend off any attackers.
The woman behind the bar begins chanting and suddenly the party is covered in heavy, sticky webs.

Everyone but Tomoe is grappled.
Anyone in the effect's area when the spell is cast must make a Reflex save. If this save succeeds, the creature is inside the web but is otherwise unaffected. If the save fails, the creature gains the grappled condition, but can break free by making a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as a standard action against the DC of this spell. The entire area of the web is considered difficult terrain. Anyone moving through the webs must make a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as part of their move action, with a DC equal to the spell's DC. Creatures that fail lose their movement and become grappled in the first square of webbing that they enter.
If you have at least 5 feet of web between you and an opponent, it provides cover. If you have at least 20 feet of web between you, it provides total cover.
The strands of a web spell are flammable. A flaming weapon can slash them away as easily as a hand brushes away cobwebs. Any fire can set the webs alight and burn away one 5-foot square in 1 round. All creatures within flaming webs take 2d4 points of fire damage from the flames.

Why am I clustered around the table with everyone when I indicated that I'd be sitting near the door casing the joint? I should be at the table north of the rooms on the south edge of the map... that said I'll play along

Badr struggles to clear himself of the webs 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 but without much effect.

I understood it as Badr went in first and sat by the door, after the party came in, he souls join them. If you want to be by the, door, that's fine. I can't edit the map at the moment, but anyone should be able to.

Fishy Missy, where you going? Aren´t you tired too like your companions? Don´t you feel the sleep in your eyes? I think you should lie down and rest, you don´t look so good somehow.
Tomoe casts sleep on the bartender. Depending on where she stands on the other potentially woken up people too again.
Funny mistake in map link hehe
