Badr reloads with a standard shot after the cat drops.
Who can say what dropped the cat? Strange are the ways of the Gods - there may have been magic in that spear.
I am in favour of the trade, though I can't speak for us all.

Hrmph! Faldoc turns to the centaurs. Good thing you were so close. We may have needed assistance. You always gonna be so handy?

GM Tektite |

The party is able to get some rest the following hours and the next morning comes far too quickly. The party rises and makes preparations to set out.
After traveling for a few hours, the party's trail begins ascending into the mountains. The path is hard going and slow, eventually leaving behind the treeline. Soon pockets of snow are seen on the ground and the further the party travels the more and deeper the snow becomes. Finally in the waning light of the day, the party finds themselves on a snow covered pass, the only likely camping spot to found in the area. Ahead the party sees a wagon, half-buried in the snow.

![]() |

Once the party hits the snow, Aniland bundles up in his cold weather gear and furs and taps himself, his mule, and anyone who asks with his wand of endure elements.
A creature protected by endure elements suffers no harm from being in a hot or cold environment. It can exist comfortably in conditions between –50 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit without having to make Fortitude saves. The creature's equipment is likewise protected.

![]() |

Tomoe also pulls over her cold weather outfit and draws her patchwork cloak tighter around her, inspecting the surrouding of the half-buried wagon for any signs of danger.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

![]() |

Looks like we found our inn for the evening. Who wants to see if rooms are available?
Fladoc will kindly ask for a tap of the wand from the gnome and then wander over to the wagon and check out the area.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

![]() |

Malik will decline Anis's wand instead asking for Abadar's grace to endure the cold weather. Casting endure elements on himself.
Malik then ventures toward the cart to check it out, spear in hand.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

GM Tektite |

As the party explores the area and the wagon, they discover three bodies of dead men. The men are dressed in cold weather outfits, but it seems they all died of cold exposure. The wagon is still in one piece, but half-buried and frozen into the ground. Inside the wagon is a pot-bellied stove and enough wood to burn through the night. The wagon is large enough to hold five people.

![]() |

Oh Anis, when i see that, i think i would ask you kindly to use your magic on me too. I really don´t want to end up like them, frozen stiff. perhaps we can get them outside and take care of their mortal remains somehow? And then get that stove running. Burning them sounds good Malik, although it might give us away for miles. Who knows what else lurks in this mountains?

![]() |

Sad discovery indeed. Does anyone have any idea how long they have been here?
Faldoc will again volunteer for first watch.

![]() |

Why yes, the gnome is more than willing to touch Tomoe with his magic power, err, borrowed magic power.
"Perhaps we could cut them open and see if they are still warm. Why haven't they burned all the wood and the cart before they died?"

![]() |

Badr indulges in a bit of corpse robbing, stripping one of the bodies of their winter clothing and climbing into the wagon to get changed.
Whe...whe...where are those furs?, he asks, clearly miserable and cold

GM Tektite |

Malik is able to discern that the men have been dead for many weeks and they obviously succumbed to cold exposure.
The furs are smallish and not the furs listed in Equipment section. You need to make a Survival check to turn the furs into a cold weather outfit. I will also need to know who is wearing what clothing and who is using Endure Elements.

![]() |

"They look like they've been dead for several weeks, natural causes from cold exposure. Let's move them outside." Malik will take the shoulders of one of the bodies waiting for someone else to take the legs to help him move the corpse out.
Malik has Endure Elements

![]() |

I had asked for the wand trick from Anis so I am assuming I'll have Endure Elements.
Faldoc will assist Malik with moving the corpses out. The last thing we need is to have these things stinking up the whole place.

GM Tektite |

Assuming Badr doesn't take watch during the coldest hours.
Fort Save Badr vs DC 15: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Fort Save Badr vs DC 16: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Fort Save Badr vs DC 17: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Fort Save Badr vs DC 18: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Badr takes 1d6 ⇒ 2 pts nonlethal damage
The party survives the bitter cold of the evening, thanks to the help of Anis' wand. The following morning, the party rises to a bright, sunny day.
Gathering their gear and heading off down the trail, the party travels for a couple of hours. Traversing a pass, the party see a light glinting some fifty feet up on a rocky ledge, above the party.

![]() |

Faldoc tries to determine what the source of the light actually is (a reflection, from a source, etc) and if it may be a marker of some type.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Does anyone see if there is some type of path up to the ledge from where we are? Perhaps that is a marker for our destination or the like. Any idea?

![]() |

Is there any way to get to the source of the reflection or would we have to climb?

![]() |

I see you are wonderfully prepared Anis! Thank you very much! I had it in mind to buy some similar stuff, but my purse had a different opinion unfortunately.
Tomoe will climb using Anis grappling hook and rope if he doesn´t mind.
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

![]() |

Before the climb Malik takes some time to meditate and pray to Abadar as part of his normal morning ritual. He'll slowly try and climb up to see what is there, asking Abadar for guidance along the way.
Take 10 with continuously casting guidance for a total climb of 11

![]() |

The gnome will do the same. Also, detecting magic.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Linguistics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

![]() |

I'll take a look around to see if anything has been up this way recently.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Odd place to put a statue. What does it represent? Something to do with our destination I hope?

![]() |

Faldoc will toss a gold piece into the offering bowl. Seems like the thing to do...

![]() |

After Tomoe took a long time to climb up there (take 10), she arrives and looks at the statue, seing Faldoc putting a coin in there.
Is this a wayshrine? Do you know which god it is? Ah, surely some good god, i´ll spend a coin too and pray for a safe trip!
Which she then does.

![]() |

Malik knows nothing of this statue, but seeing the others and the bowl full of coins Malik tosses one in, knowing the power of such symbols and monuments can be helpful if appeased but potentially harmful if left untended and he would rather not chance his luck with such a long journey ahead.
