Marduk Beastblood |
Ah, I wasn't sure if that information was relayed.
Marduk takes off in the direction of Daxter's 'raven'.
Amira El-Amin |
Yup, no info concealment here. Wrapped up book 5 of S&S at LGS yesterday! Hooray!
Amira keeps in the back of the chase party after informing them of a direction.
Amira El-Amin |
Amira has Overland Flight and Travel Domain Speed Bonus, but there is NO way that she's going ahead. This Battle Aspegerilililimumum only has the word "Battle" in it for show. Placement is fine for me. Given an oppotunity, Amira would use Dimensional Steps to deliver Erin unto flanks, if possible and we're kind of just wrapping around movements. But first...
Amira casts dispel Magic at the Slow affecting Erin, if it's more than a round. Else, the double-move to keep in not-front-row is a-OK.
Marduk Beastblood |
Marduk darts forward to keep up with Erin and gives her another touch of Orcish fury.
Touch of Rage.
GM Tektite |
The ceilings are thirty feet tall.
Once Erin is out of the mist, the slow effect goes away, so no dispel needed.
The party gives chase and as the elemental nears, the hell hounds and devils attack it!
Attack vs Windy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 1 + (6) = 10

Attack vs Windy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Windy proves too agile and dodges all of the attacks!
Krune appears to cast another spell, lifting into the air.
Party up!
Daxter Bateman |
Windy retaliates and strikes one of the Hell Hounds.
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
Daxter double moves to catch up to the fight.
Marduk Beastblood |
Unable to get into the fight, Marduk closes the gap and shares with Daxter's 'raven' a surge of Orcish might.
Touch of Rage the familiar!
Amira El-Amin |
Amira, seeing nobody hurt, decides that maybe Abadar will bless her with a chance of a lifetime. She flies up and casts Pilfering Hand Abadar's Sanctioned Reposession at Krune and his awesome-looking spear!
Combat Maneuver using CL and Wis: 1d20 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 11 + 3 = 32
GM Tektite |
The party moves ever closer to Krune, while Marduk gives Galio a touch of rage! Amira tries to pilfer Krune's awesome spear, but he grins wickedly and holds on to it!
Galio, now enraged, fires an arrow at a hellhound. The flies true, punching into the beasts side!
Krune flies backward and casts a spell. Suddenly, everyone in the chamber feels the moisture begin to evaporate from their bodies!
Damage: 15d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 4, 4, 3, 5, 6, 1, 3, 3, 6, 6, 2, 4) = 58 Fort Save DC 27 for half
BD 1: 1d20 ⇒ 8
BD 2: 1d20 ⇒ 4
HH 1: 1d20 ⇒ 4
HH 2: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Krune's summoned minons are no match for the spell and all four disappear!
Party up!
Daxter Bateman |
Daxter: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Elemental: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Galio: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
And Galio is struck down from the spell as it leaves him a tiny dried up husk. "You will pay for that." Daxter says showing the first sign of emotion ever. The spell rocks both the Chelish caster and his elemental in kind.
"Make him feel the full force of a hurricane."
The elemental turns into a whirlwind and rushes over to Krune. 2 Reflex saves DC21. One versus the damage and one versus being vacuumed up.
Daxter will move forward and cast another False Life on himself.
1d10 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Erin Alegra |
Fort 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Thank you Greater Heroism
Waiting to see positioning of Krune before next action. I also cannot currently see the map, so if someone could let me know if 15ft would get me a flank it would be appreciated.
Marduk Beastblood |
Fort: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 2 = 22
Marduk howls in pain as Krune's spell drains the fluid from his brawny form. The Orc retrieves another rod and focuses on the Runelord, preparing to interrupt his next spell.
Readying to disrupt with another Burning Arc.
Ready: 10d6 + 24 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 4, 5, 3, 4, 6, 4, 3) + 24 = 62
It's not going to be possible to get a flank with the elemental on top of Krune.
Amira El-Amin |
Bah, I was hoping some of them runes were tied to deflection and dodge. I honestly don't even remember which ones we broke at this point to be honest.
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
scraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Amira floats to the ground, akin to the withered leaf she now appears to be. 50 - 58 = -8
GM Tektite |
Bah, I was hoping some of them runes were tied to deflection and dodge. I honestly don't even remember which ones we broke at this point to be honest.
Heh. No, you are quite right on your supposition, it's just that my math was really...really bad this morning. Glad you said something. Though, on the other hand, you may not be.
Before she falls to the ground, Amira re-exerts her will and draws the spear to her. As she loses consciousness, she is surprised to feel the spear moving, as if on its own intelligent volition!
Daxter resists some of the spell, but his familiar does not. He moves up and casts a spell!
Marduk takes the full brunt of the wilting and readies a spell against Krune!
Erin, you are currently 35' feet south (and one square east) of Krune's current location.
Krune Ref 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Krune Ref 2: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
As the elemental moves over him, Krune is buffeted violently by the wind and sucked up into the whirlwind!
Erin Alegra |
Dax, I wanted to make sure he wasn't running see invis. That changes my attack numbers drastically. I would be really surprised if a Runelord was not.
Erin moves around to flank with the elemental and strikes at Krune.
Attack (Main 1)1d20 + 29 ⇒ (20) + 29 = 49 (Flank) (One Attack)
Damage (Main 1) 1d6 + 10 + 5d6 ⇒ (3) + 10 + (3, 2, 1, 5, 1) = 25 (Flank)
Offensive Defense, lots of buffs.
Take 2 off my to hit if he has see invis/truesight, whatever running.
Attack (Main 1)1d20 + 29 ⇒ (5) + 29 = 34 (Flank) (One Attack)
Damage (Main 1) 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 (Flank)
GM Tektite |
Forgot the damage for the whirlwind. 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
Erin moves in and stabs Krune, casusing him to curse loud enough to be heard of the rushing wind!
Krune makes a gesture, and Marduk fires a ray!
Ref: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Krune is able to avoid some of the burning arc as he disappears from sight once more.
Dimensional Steps SLA, no AoO and he auto-succeds the Concentration check.
Party up!
Amira El-Amin |
Stabilize: 1d20 - 8 ⇒ (9) - 8 = 1
-9/50 If I get CdG'd by a spear I technically stole, I can't imagine a more fitting Abadaran end, do ho ho.
Daxter Bateman |
Daxter shakes his head as Amira drops to the ground. "We're better than this..." He platonically searches the Abadaran for something to heal her with. He finds a wand with runes he recognizes. I'll use your wand of infernal healing next turn. I hope he doesn't have another Horrid Wilting.
Marduk Beastblood |
The concentration check would be 42 for the Burning Arc. He taps that?
Erin Alegra |
"I suggest you prepare yourself for a more permanent rest this time. You will not be coming back again." Erin says to the Runelord with a glare, as she finally gets close enough to dish out some hurt.
Attack (Main 1)1d20 + 27 ⇒ (13) + 27 = 40 (Flank)

Damage (Off 2) 1d6 + 3 + 5d6 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (3, 4, 4, 4, 6) = 26 (Flank)
Offensive Defense, Haste, Greater Hero, Greater Invis
-2 to all to hits if he has see invis up
Marduk Beastblood |
”There will be no escape for you Runelord”, Marduk scoffs. ”This world has no more use for you.”
The brawny Orc conjures another massive gout of flame and rears back to toss it.
Readying to toss a Selective Fireball.
Readied Fireball: 10d6 + 24 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 2, 5, 6, 3, 1, 2, 1) + 24 = 51
Amira El-Amin |
Funny thing is that since I've prepped this before, I knew what it was ooc. Just wanted to see if Mr. Sloth could cast without what is probably his bonded item (the answer is an empatic "yes and go ahead and fail this fort save.")
19 or 20?: 1d20 - 9 ⇒ (19) - 9 = 10
Amira... stabilizes. Wow. That's good, since -10, is death and IH is a 1-round cast.
Daxter Bateman |
Daxter will collect the rune-rod and the body of his fallen familiar. If you squint, you may see a hint of emotion on his face as he puts the outsider corpse in his pack.
GM Tektite |
Recovering Krune's rune-rod and spear, that harangues the holder, pointing out their foibles and critiquing their rash action as carelessly spontaneous, the party heals Amira and Dax gathers Galio's corpse.
As Krune died, the stone sarcophagus, his soul gem, and any remaining rune foci in the outer hall rapidly crumble. The sanctum’s blue-green light fades and the strange vapor dissipates, leaving the sanctum dark but for the party's light sources.
The party is able to depart the chamber by grabbing hold on their inscribed crystals, using them to operate the portal and return to Heidmarch Manor.
In defeating Krune, your party has stopped one of the greatest foes ever to threaten Varisia from returning to power. What’s more, the Pathfinder Society has slain Lissala’s high priest, arresting the forgotten goddess’s otherwise likely return. The Pathfinder Society spends a considerable time congratulating and debriefing the everyone, and the masked member of your earlier meeting wastes no time in taking the runelord’s two artifacts and teleporting away—presumably taking them to the Grand Lodge in Absalom.
In the weeks that follow, word spreads around Varisia that the cult of Lissala had risen, that one of the runelords had nearly awakened, and that heroes—Pathfinders, more often than not—had slain him.....
The End
Marduk Beastblood |
Yay!
Amira El-Amin |
Amira takes no particular joy in any glory of Runelord-slaying (exceptionally so since she was unconscious for a majority of the damage.) She offers to go partway on reviving their only casualty, but otherwise returns to merely tending to her office in the Bank of Absalom.
Toshi, however, rides his year of accolades and is accepted into the Society (if only on a provisionary basis.)
