Kharax Fireshield |

Kharax follows the others, wary, but trusting the instincts and knowledge of his android allies. He also casts mage armor at this time, so that's up

Richard opens the door and finds that this seems to be some sort of holding chamber, completely devoid of life or any sort of object.

Kharax Fireshield |

Kharax joins Richard in magical divinations, trying to make sure that no magical traps await.
Spellcraft if there is an aura: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Richard finds little in the room except for a set of chains barred into the back of the wall.
Moving onto the next room. It also seems to contain no traps or magical auras. This looks to be the room for the power uplink. The batteries stored for harvesting and storing the power broadcast to the receiver array are kept here along wth three additional chokers that look to have been burned to death. Their flesh is blackened and warped beyond belief as they look to have been physically torn in half.

Richard Mithril |

Richard frowns at the corpses. "Something really wanted these chokers dead. This is overkill."
Moving to the batteries, he looks them over and wonders at the possibility of salvaging them. His spell to detect magic remains active, scanning the tech and the dead alike.
I don't want to take anything just yet - I'm assuming that they are powering the array, and interrupting that might alert someone to come check on it.

Once again this place is looking quite desolate as Richard finds no magical auras about the room.

Richard Mithril |

"Moving on." Richard says, then does.
Exiting the cleared battery room he heads further east, checking the door before opening it.
Double checking perception.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14

Once a temple devoted to Hellion, this room is now in ruins. Fragments of the statue of a man-sized, clawed hand (Similar to one you saw far earlier back near Torch) have been gathered together in some form of a nest.

Alpha's scan doesn't turn up any sentient life within the area.
Everyone give me a Will save and a fear that your character has.

Kharax Fireshield |

Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Poo :p My first thought was rust monsters, but a true fear... loneliness and isolation, including from Torracha (his shaman mask).

Lewdon resists but feels something from a great distance probing at his mind and sifting through his many thoughts. It doesn't get far as Lewdon's mind creates a barrier resisting it from probing further.

N5 was the battery room you already explored.

![]() |

Finding little of significance, this place is looking to be completely empty and devoid of all life.
Deciding to head north, Richard opens the doorway to what looks to be old choker dens. These rooms once served as barracks for chokers, but look to be abandoned now.
Richard give me a DC 16 Will save
Each time you notice one of your companions missing you rush frantically around the corner just to find them standing there, just as if they had been there all alone. Though something about them is a bit off. They are a shadow of their former selves, as if something has replaced them.
At this point each one has come up missing, if for just a moment and you are the only one left that has not. Are you next? Are these truly your companions or something else entirely?

Richard Mithril |

Richard turns back from the dens and looks at his companions.
"I..." He starts upon seeing Lewdon so close behind him. His eyes widen slightly as they scan back across the rest of the group. "I..." He stammers, backing away toward the double doors to the west and pulls at them.

Richard staggers into the western doors. This was once a guard post for chokers to stage and organize a defense of the complex. Now there just looks to be quite a few choker bodies shredded and piled into the corner. Swathes of dried and aged blood splash the walls.
It seems that the entire complex is devoid of life and good to set the explosives on the receiver array and support structure.
Need a Dc 15 Knowledge Engineering check to determine the most strategic point to place the charge. At which point it is a 20 foot climb (DC 15) followed by a DC 10 Disable Device to arm the explosive.

Lewdon starts looking around the room for a place to set up the charge keeping a eye on Richard for his behavior.
"Never knowed you ta be at a lose fer words Richie. You ok?
knowledge engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Richard Mithril |

While Lewdon checks the structure, Richard has been slowly making his way to the far door near the exit.
"I'm fine." He replies. "Just had a funny feeling is all. This place reminds me of the wreck, and the things we saw there. Right?"
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
At Alpha's words, he holds out his hands. "No, really, I'm fine. Operating at optimal performance."
Who has the explosives?

Kharax Fireshield |

"Yeah, I'd say we outta get yer 'ead checked out, but like I could figger out all the parts in ya!", Kharax tries to joke, still uneasy himself in this place.
"So where we plantin' dis thing?"
I think Alpha or Lewdon has it, but with the DisDev requirement... that would be best in your hands, right?

![]() |

Just waiting to see what you do with the explosives.

Richard Mithril |

Taking the explosives, Richard hums a spell and vanishes from sight.

![]() |

Alpha quickly scans for any signs of magic and finds a good portion of magical auras moving to the west at a decent speed. Almost as if Richard is attempting to escape.

![]() |

Richard runs through the complex calling out to his companions, finding the rooms just as empty as originally seen.
His 'companions' slowly continue to follow Richard as they try to figure out what exactly is going on.
