Dorothy (Dejik) has been rather sick lately, including a trip to the ER. We are having to get work caught up and are dealing with difficulty sleeping through the night, so this isn't a high priority. If either of us fails to post for a long time, just bot as needed.

GM SpiderBeard |

Augh! Give her my regards. Sarkast/Dejik are half the group right now and I'm happy to hold things up until things clear up. Let me know if you guys wanna push on or hold up.

GM SpiderBeard |

Okay since nobody responded to this I'll take that as an indicator we should put things on ice. The game is a couple years old, another break won't hurt. Really hope Dejik is okay :(

Nilus Romani |

I'm always around. I'll be here when she gets back.

Sarkast |

Thanks all. She's actually back up and functioning, just catching up on things. Weather changes are messing up her sinuses as she tries to recover from this virus (thankfully wasn't pneumonia). She's back to more-or-less regular work schedule, which of course means no access to Paizo.com during the day. She should be able to post again starting tonight, so feel free to start us into the next room.
EDIT: And of course after posting this I notice she apparently posted in the game thread when she was up in the wee hours of the morning.

GM SpiderBeard |

I'm at a conference until Sunday. I'll have ample internet but posting schedule will be disrupted and I may post at odd(er) times.

GM SpiderBeard |

Time to post is scarcer than once imagined. I'll do my best but this will likely be a dry week. Thanks for your patience!

Ayesha Jalal |

FYI - I will be travelling from Sun-Fri, and I may not be able to post regularly during that time. If I am a player in your game, please feel free to DMPC me to keep the story moving. If I am GMing the game, RP and/or sit on your thumbs until regular GM posts resume.

Sarkast |

Dejik and I are heading to Paizocon tonight, so our check-in times will be based on breaks and wireless access. We will try to check at breakfast, mid-afternoon, and before bed, but we'll see how that goes.

GM SpiderBeard |

I'll be kind and mention equipment you've looted - you absolutely have at least two scrolls of resurrection. Maybe one of true resurrection. I'll do a count and verify.

Sarkast |

Which will still require a higher level cleric (or a caster level check by Dejik - Resurrection is minimum CL 13) and he will also need a Restoration for the negative level.
On top of that, we're all pretty wiped on spells and uses-per-day. I don't think any of us is in good shape to open another door. :-)
On the subject of those scrolls, though, do they have the expensive material components baked in, or would we need to acquire those before casting?

Dejik |

Dejik has 4 Restorations left for today. If we want to try one of the Resurrection scrolls, Dejik only needs a 3 on the caster level check. (Overflowing Grace will cut that down to a 2.) The biggest problem is that Resurrection takes a 10,000 gp diamond, unless it's already included in the scroll creation.
It would be better for morale if we all walked into camp--even staggering. Dejik isn't sure she can face Irabeth, Sosiel, and the troops if we bring back Nilus's body.

GM SpiderBeard |

You have the following items that can bring back the dead:
- 2 scrolls of resurrection which do NOT require the diamond
- one oil of life, which is a philosopher's stone treated with a cure potion - this will cast true resurrection on a corpse and requires no caster level check

Sarkast |

So it is unclear whether the temporary negative levels that killed you are still there after a Resurrection, but I would think not:
Upon completion of the spell, the creature is immediately restored to full hit points, vigor, and health, with no loss of prepared spells.
Regardless, a single Restoration and 100gp of diamond dust would clear them all. You will need another Restoration with 1000gp of diamond dust to clear the permanent negative level.
I'd like to hear Ayesha's opinion on resting or pushing on. I think she is the one most depleted now - as I recall, she is also out of mythic points and nearly out of spells.

GM SpiderBeard |

Gotcha, I was uysing permanent level drain and enervation is super-temporary negative levels. I'll say resurrection removes them, and also say the group rests since Ayesha and Dejik are both so low.

GM SpiderBeard |

You guys are going into this fight with full knowledge there's a Big Bad waiting for you. Cast any long-term buffs, and you have one round of short-term buffs. He is literally waiting for you as you enter though.

Nilus Romani |

Hey, We are having some weather related issues here (I have satellite internet so...) and I'm taking my family on a mini vacation from Thursday-Sunday. The Hotel should have WiFi so I'll try to post daily, but if I don't you know why. If this is a game I'm GMing, I'll be back on Monday for sure. If this is a game I'm playing feel free to bot away.

GM SpiderBeard |

DING!
Welcome to level 12. As well, you have completed another mythic trial by destroying Xanthir Vang. If you are not mythic tier 5, move yourself there with this final trial.
We're now in the denoument of Chapter 3. Chapter 4 - The Midnight Isles comes next.

GM SpiderBeard |

Level up now since there's an encounter that may or may not take a bit to resolve. I don't want you guys in an encounter that wraps over into next week hanging out without yoru new abilit.es I'd rather wait and start on Monday.

Sarkast |

+1 level of Rogue (Rogue 11)
12th level ability score increase: +1 CON (now 16)
Hit points: now 118 total (5 from average of d8, +1 FCB, increased CON)
11th level class abilities:
Sneak Attack +1d6 (now 6d6)
Finesse Training (Starknife). With this, Freedom's Kiss can now use its Transformative power to be a Starknife, dedicated to Desna.
Skill points: 11 (8 +1 (human) +2 (INT)):
+1 Acrobatics
+2 Disable Device
+1 Escape Artist
+1 Knowledge (planes)
+1 Knowledge (religion)
+1 Perception
+2 Stealth
+2 Survival
Mythic tier 5 (Trickster)
Mythic Saving Throws: Success at a save vs a non-mythic effect completely negates
New Path Ability: Legendary Item
New Mythic Feat: Extra Path Ability: Legendary Item
Legendary Item: Freedom's Kiss
Legendary Power: 2/day + 2/day from Powerful ability
Legendary Surge: +1d6 to attack rolls or combat maneuver checks
Legendary Abilities - 6 (only 5 available until Tier 6):
* Foe-Biting - Spend legendary power to double the total damage on a hit (including precision damage). On a crit, must spend 2 power
* Powerful - 2 additional legendary power
* Undetectable - While bearer is invisible, he cannot be detected or scryed by any means
* Unstoppable Strike - Attacks bypass all armor. Spend 1 power to make attack against touch AC. Spend a second power to ignore deflection bonuses.
* Upgradable - Increase the non-mythic magic power with 8 hour ritual and spending half the difference in gp price
* (Tier 6 unlock: Returning - spend mythic point to teleport into hand from anywhere on same plane)

Nilus Romani |

Honestly Sarkast, I'd caution away from foebiting....its stupid powerful. We already suffer from rocket tag, Foebiting is one of the worst offenders in the Mythic rules. Actually combining that with Unstoppable strike means...well it means you're gonna one shot a whole bunch of stuff.
I'll level Nilus fully later on but I'm planning on taking a 5th level of the Sentinel Prestige Class
+1 BAB, +1 Fort save, +7HP (class+con)+3 HP (Exposed to Awfulness),+2 Skill points
Aligned Strike (Su): At 5th level, the sentinel gains the ability to bypass a specific type of damage reduction when wielding his deity’s favored weapon. Good: The sentinel can treat his weapon as holy if his deity is good.
Stalwart (Su): At 5th level, the sentinel gains mental fortitude through his constant meditation and adherence to religious tenets. He gains a +2 sacred or profane bonus on saving throws to resist divine spells.
Mythic Crunch Guardian Tier 5
+5 HP (Guardian Tier bonus)
Mythic Saving Throws (Ex): At 5th tier, whenever you succeed at a saving throw against a spell or special ability, you suffer no effects as long as that ability didn't come from a mythic source (such as a creature with a mythic tier or mythic ranks). If you fail a saving throw that results from a mythic source, you take the full effects as normal.
Mythic Feat (Mythic Iron Will): When you make a Will save from a non-mythic source, roll twice and take the higher result
Mythic Power: Draw Fire (Su): As an immediate action, when an ally within 30 feet is targeted with a ranged weapon attack, you can have that attack target you instead. If you would normally be out of range for that attack, the attack is able to hit you as if you were at maximum range. You can use this ability without using an immediate action by expending one use of mythic power.
@GM I'll be pretty much using Draw Fire all the time to protect Dejik,Ayesha and Arueshalae from Ranged Attacks. (Sarkast is nigh unhittable and usually invisible)

Dejik |

Here's the details from Dejik's level and tier up:
Oracle level 10 (Paladin 2:
New 5th level spells: Breath of Life, Mass Cure Light Wounds, Life Bubble
Bonus 4th level spell (favored class bonus): Holy Smite.
Mythic Tier 5 (Hierophant):
Mythic Saving Throw: Making a save against a non-mythic source negates all effects.
Mythic spell: Holy Smite.
Path ability:
Divine Metamastery (Su) (Mythic Adventures pg. 36): As a swift action, you can expend one use of mythic power and pick any one metamagic feat you know that increases the slot level of the spell by 0 levels or 1 level. For the next 10 rounds, you can apply this metamagic feat to any divine spell you cast without increasing the spell slot used or casting time. You can also use this ability on a divine spell cast from a scroll, staff, or wand.
Mythic feat: Taking Extend Spell as a bonus non-mythic feat.

Dejik |

Quick question: At this level, Dejik can swap out one of her Oracle spells known for another one. I wanted to trade out Deathless for Death Ward, but that's one of her mythic spells. If she trades out Deathless, does Dejik just lose the mythic spell (since she would no longer know the non-mythic version)?
Or would you let her switch to a different mythic spell (probably Shield of Faith)?

GM SpiderBeard |

We're entering the denoument of the chapter here. When I have a bit I'll update the loot spreadsheet with everything from the Citadel as I've been lax in that and we can go into downtime.

GM SpiderBeard |

Congraulations on completing Chapter 3! We're entering a downtime now. Please take this time to pursue any personal goals you may have, or not. I'm working on updating the spreadsheet now. Once that is done, please claim any items personally, and we will divide the rest.

GM SpiderBeard |

Okay, the incredible amount of stuff from the Ivory Sanctum you could conceivably carry in your bags of holding is on the spreadsheet. A few notes:
- you of course have the forge which can redeem certain items
- the mithral plate Nilus found does not have to be worn by him, but it must be donated to a paladin for his upgrade to Radiance to stick
- a few important items were missed due to how Vang's loot list was written like a quicken rod of metamagic and so forth
Please claim your item, and then zero out the value once you claim it. Some thing on here are obvious claims that may have been talked about, but regardless there is 440k worth of loot.
This does not count the bounty of what's effectively raw treasure available in the Sanctum. If you want to spend your downtime hauling it in, you can find:
6,000 gold worth of reagents and crafting supplies (100 lbs)
13,500 gold worth of looted objects of art (60 pounds)
This is not on the spreadsheet.
It should be noted much of what the Sanctum had was looted by the abyssal forces. Irabeth has allowed you keep anything you have, but if you wish to donate back to the crusade and city there's an option. Of course, with Horgus as treasurer there are deals to be struck.

Ayesha Jalal |

I say that we definitely haul back the loot. Keep the hard currency (gold, gems, reagents, supplies) to use for any consumables we may need, and use our influence to sell the artwork and set up a trust with the Queen to assist in feeding, housing, and education the orphans displaced by the war.

Nilus Romani |

I put on the sheet that we will donate the armor to General Irabeth.
Nilus would want that all stolen/looted goods be returned to Drezen where they could either be given back to their rightful owners or failing that assist with the war effort.
Other than that, Nilus isn't claiming anything. He'll take some coin once things shake out to build his new church (the one that Sosiel has been working on).

GM SpiderBeard |

> Nilus would want that all stolen/looted goods be returned to Drezen where they could either be given back to their rightful owners or failing that assist with the war effort.
There are no individuals to donate to - just the Crusade in general. Drezen fell 75 years ago and there were very few survivors.
An exception is the Riftwardens. Some of the magic items (sword of the planes, staff of healing, rod of empower, carpet of flying, instant fortress) belonged to members of that order.
As with everything else, it's being treated as a gift you can do with as you want.

Sarkast |

I suggest we see if the Forge can redeem the unholy longsword and the black robe.
Unless anyone else needs it, I'll take the Ring of Protection +5, putting my current Ring of Protection +1 back into the kitty. I already have an Amulet of Natural Armor +2.
I'll go ahead and keep the carpet of flying, it will make scouting high places easier.
Lots of good wands and scrolls and stuff for Ayesha and Dejik.

Dejik |

Unless anyone else needs it, I'll take the Ring of Protection +5, putting my current Ring of Protection +1 back into the kitty.
When Dejik casts Mythic Protection from Evil on Sarkast and Ayesha, it gives them a +4 deflection bonus. If Nilus has a lower deflection bonus, it might be worth it to give him a better touch AC.
I already have an Amulet of Natural Armor +2.
If Nilus and Ayesha already have a neck slot or a natural armor bonus, Dejik will take the amulet.
Lots of good wands and scrolls and stuff for Ayesha and Dejik.
Whatever metamagic rods Ayesha doesn't want to carry, Dejik will hold onto. She can also pass them to Ayesha in combat as needed.
Dejik would like the scrolls of resurrection, greater restoration, and greater dispel magic.
Dejik isn't the type to use the summon monster scrolls, but if her companions thinks they will be useful, she will give it a try.
The rest of the scrolls are not on her spell list.
As far as the staffs go, the only one Dejik feels any resonance for is the staff of healing, but she will happily return it to the Riftwardens.
As far as purchasing items, Dejik doesn't yet have a cloak of resistance or a ring of protection,so she'd like to find those if possible. The other thing she will look for is an upgrade to her headband of charisma (it's currently +2).

Dejik |

Looking over the spreadsheet history, it looks like we accidentally sold the +4 mithral scale mail that Dejik is wearing. Dejik will refund the money to the party out of her share.
Also, Dejik is carrying several items she isn't using. We can either sell these or donate them to crusade:
- +1 Elven chain
- Mithral chain shirt
- Wand of protection from evil (27 charges)
- Wand of bless weapon (41 charges)
- Potion of sanctuary
- 2 potions of Endure Elements
- Materwork composite longbow
- +1 longbow
I also realized that Dejik doesn't have a backup weapon. She'll try to get her cold iron longsword upgraded to +1 or maybe find a basic +1 longsword.

GM SpiderBeard |

Just FYI I'm here but expect the loot talks to take a while. I'll post an in-game update tomorrow.

Sarkast |

Good point. Nilus, do you want the +5 ring?
Sarkast will want to replace his used elixirs (vision and hiding) if that is possible.

Nilus Romani |

Meh, sure. However, when Nilus Smites he gets a +6 Deflection bonus.
I'll mark the ring down though....Touch AC has already proven to be a weak point for Nilus.

Ayesha Jalal |

Well, apparently the lake house within a 10 minute drive of Ft Worth had ZERO internet. Being without internet for 5 days was both a blessing and a curse (mostly curses). I am leaving tomorrow for another trip, but this time I *should* have internet enough for 1/day posting. In the meantime, I am going to catch up on my games. Thanks for the understanding.

Which lake? We used to live in Fort Worth, and I grew up in the Dallas area.

Ayesha Jalal |

Lake Worth. My niece was married in Ft. Worth. My parents live in Arlington, so we bivvied with them for a few days, then stayed the weekend at a rented house on Lake Worth with most of my wife's family. Kind of a small family reunion.

Nilus Romani |

GM, just in case you are wondering what my goals are for the NPC's I'll lay that out here.
The former Lamashtans: Eventually, atonement (per the spell) and then they become the seed from which Nilus' clergy is based. (Redeemed evildoers)
Jesker: A thriving Shrine to Community and atonement (per the spell)
Jestak: Adoption of the Wintersun and eventually resettlement, I don't think the atonement spell is necessary as she just requires an alignment shift (from CE to anything nonevil/nonlawful)
Joran: I think he's well on his way, but the atonement spell might be necessary to finish his redemption.
Chorussina: I honestly don't know. I'm waiting to hear from Irabeth.

GM SpiderBeard |

Sounds good. I'll give Dejik until tomorrow to post and then resolve the downtime. We can then move to Chapter 4.

What kind of luck does Dejik have finding these things?

Nilus Romani |

re:Loot
Is someone able to edit the sheet and figure out what each person's share is? I don't really have anything I'd like to buy for Nilus...but he does have a few debts at this point. (Jesker's Shrine, The Temple of the Rose etc.)
