GM Shady |

Hi. Per Kessa's post above, I'd be happy to pick this up.
I currently have 4 campaigns running as a GM, and have room for more. I have the books/PDFs for Hell's Rebels. I'm older than I care to admit, have been playing RPGs on and off since the early 80s and am based in the UK.
Style-wise I tend to be a bit more interested in the story and roleplaying side. I'm definitely not a killer GM so if you're looking for a near death (or just death) experience I'm not your man.
I've been playing PbP here for only a few months, but I am online most of the time and tend to post several times a day, including weekends (I travel a fair bit on business so there is the odd 18 or so hour period when I'm not around).
The following is my usual policy, though I should say it's very much evolving.
Dice Rolling (stolen from GM Damo)
The following PC rolls will always be made by me to keep things moving:
1. Initiative
2. Perception
3. Sense motive
4. Saving throws
5. Group diplomacy*
Player dice rolls of these types will be ignored, unless specifically requested by me.
I may make the following where appropriate, but you may request to make these yourself (let me know if you prefer to roll these yourself):
1. Knowledge checks
2. Survival checks
3. Individual diplomacy*
Further, I may make a roll of any kind on your behalf if there's a long and unexpected break in posting (see below on "Moving Along").
* Where the group is involved in a diplomatic action and a diplomacy roll is required, I will roll using the PC with the highest modifier for the group as the primary roll and the next highest modifier for an assist. Depending upon roleplaying and other circumstances, I may allow multiple assists also, or require someone other than the PC with the highest modifier make the primary roll. Otherwise, the players roll these individually.
Spoilers
Sometimes I'll post text in spoilers - these will sometimes be pointed at specific characters (e.g. "For Illya"); sometimes it might be a translation of a language you may or may not know; and sometimes it might be relevant to specific rolls (e.g. "DC 15"). Please don't look if it doesn't apply to you. For my part I'll assume if it doesn't apply to you then you haven't read it. For example, if it's a translation of a language you don't understand, for your character to see the translation, someone who does understand it needs to tell you about it.
The corollary - if it did apply to you, you also need to assume nobody else read it and should explain it (if you choose to do so).
Moving Along
I'm assuming people are posting on weekdays about once a day, maybe less so over a weekend or a public holiday. If you're going to be away a while, let me know and we'll work something out.
Let me and the rest of the party know if/when you're ready to move along. I don't want to smother RP and conversations, equally I want to make sure we don't get bogged down (dungeons are notorious for this in PbP). I may ask for a vote to move things on, or to pick a particular direction - generally the first x votes will win, where x is the majority or else is half of the number of current players (if even). It's also fine to say "I don't want to move on yet".
My general assumption is that, outdoors and en route to somewhere, you talk while you walk, so you're still moving.
Having Fun
And let me know by PM if you're not enjoying yourself, and why. I'll do my best to do something about it. It's the point of all this, after all.
If you're still interested I can write to Paizo and probably get this restarted in a couple of days.

GM Shady |

OK I will write to Paizo tomorrow.
I just picked up another dormant campaign a couple of weeks ago, it seems to take 2-3 days to move the campaign over. In the interim I suggest finding the other player. I can probably do so if you wish, or else if one of you wants to find someone then great.
The other one had 7200 posts, getting up to speed on this one is a bit easier.
Finally, feel free to PM me if you have strong feelings/desires about how you want the game to progress, and I'll try and work with it.
Looking forward to it!

We are 5 anyway, only missing a 6th so we can probably continue on by ourselves untill we get a replacement.
Yeah it was crazy quick to change over. Love the "Blimey" by the way. It has been awhile since I heard that. I'm originally Irish, born bred and raised, but I'm living in Canada for the last year, and my fathes side of the family are all from Weymouth.

Killian Shaburn |

That was quick, indeed! I am fine with waiting or continuing as you see fit GM. Whatever makes it easier for you!

GM Shady |

I've been through vol 1 of the adventure path.
Some notes:
- I posted in the campaign info, including a re-post of the GM policy above. In general I tend to throw the initiative rolls, just to move reasonably quickly. I'll go with the current initiative rolls though.
- Not sure I would have gone with the opening 3 hours activity quite like that, but will go with it.
- The map - I marked the thug I think got disarmed by Ariela. 2 were also disarmed by Aram I think. I can kind of see your marking but, Aram could you copy and paste the "disarmed" text to where that is the case
I'll then go from there.
Everyone OK if I switch to Roll20 for subsequent maps?
One other thing - did the previous GM send out any campaign rumours to players by PM?

Killian Shaburn |

I didn't receive any personally, and roll20 is fine. I can't access it at work (Where I do 90%) of my posting, but I can still move tokens around at home. I use it for a few other games too!

GM Shady |

I've re-kicked off the gameplay. To Ariela's question by PM, there are various rumours floating round Kintargo, given the heightened political tension there. You'd have been expected to pick some of them up during the extended (cough, special rule mechanic) pre-riot episode, so I'm throwing them in for free; more will come up over time. At this point you are mid-riot (or early riot) so you're not expected to anything with them immediately.
I've spent several hours figuring out the current Gameplay thread and cross referencing against the AP. There's a fair bit of custom stuff going on, quite apart from the complexity of the scene, so I am going to have a go at rethreading it back to the AP as best I can. Please excuse any fumbles. Think we are now good to go.
On the map, bear in mind that the crowds are difficult terrain for movement purposes.

It's now in the header (a lot longer than 5 minutes, apologies - got distracted). As I said there is nothing there but you could go and register.

I am going to be travelling for the next 10 days. I will occasionally be able to check in, but not regularly. Feel free to bot my character as needed.

GM Shady |

arggh, I don't know what to do because it feels like whatever I do commits the party to follow. I'd like to keep attacking, but if I do, you guys would have a harder time withdrawing.
My suggestion is you decide on here and I rule that you all variously look at each other and take a joint decision. I should say this feels like a fight you aren't meant to win, your choice is really to flee or go down fighting.

Ah, OK, I wasn't sure that was allowed. Kessa is willing to stay for a round or so to give the civilians (and even the squishier party members) a chance to get away, if the party decides to retreat.

Hey guys, I'm looking for someone willing to play in a game I'm running for a group of newbies. I've taken them through the beginner's box adventure, and now we're going to play the module Murder's Mark using almost exclusively the core rule book. I'm also allowing the unchained rogue, and other things are negotiable. I have my three newbies, but we could use one (or two) experienced player to round out the party and help them see the rules from the player side.
They are all new players brought into Pathfinder with the Humble Bundle. We started with 6 players, but these three are the ones who kept with the game for 3 months and finished the adventure. I'd rather not do a general recruitment because I want someone I know will help teach rules and keep posting.
