How does this work?


It's called campaign mode. For APs and some of the longer modules, if a group is doing the entire things, they can do it with house rules instead of PFS rules and still get credit to apply to a PFS character of their choice. 'PFS campaign mode' is the phrase to google for.

Gotcha, unfortunately I don't have any level 2 PFS characters.


If you have a level 1 character, you can take the chronicle and hold on to it. You then apply it as soon as the character reaches level 2.

Yep. If you play PFS it doesn't hurt to apply this to a new number. Once you get to level 2 you can choose to apply it then and jump right to level 3. It doesn't need to be in the level range right now.

Okies, so I can assign to a non-existent number and then to an actual character later?

If you currently have characters #1 and #2 assigned and they are out of the 2-4 range or you simply don't want to assign it to either of them you can assign it to #3 instead. When #3 falls in that range you apply the sheet for the free level! Viola!

All I need is the ID# and Char# from you to report, there is no verification on the backend that takes place to see if that character exists or not.

On another note, anyone tried Starfinder yet? I launched my first Starfinder Society game yesterday and I'm super excited! I really am in love with the changes they made from the Pathfinder ruleset. I feel like they balanced the game very well.


I'm in several games right now, and GMed the quests in person already. The game itself is fun, although I feel wacky and out of control playing it because I don't feel like I really know the rules yet. Starship combat on PBP seems painfully slow. Maybe that's just because it's so different and people are still learning how it works. The big thing is that the phases mean there's a lot of waiting time.

I do feel a little wacky as well because I don't have anywhere near a handle on the rules as I need. I have a feeling I'll be doing a TON of cross-referencing. Good thing it's PbP and it allows me time to look up everything.

I think starship combat looks like it indeed will be slow. I'm going to hold off on doing one of those scenarios for a little bit until I have the basics under my belt.

Do we have the chance to sell the loot that no one wants and buy good stuff during the level up? Garri already found the best armor for him until he can afford +1 armor, but I'd like to upgrade his scimitar to masterwork and maybe get a few wands or scrolls.


Also, will you be issuing chronicle sheets for PFS?

Sure. There are several days of downtime prior to the counsel meeting where you can take care of reequipping yourselves and prepare for setting out from Trunau.

I will email out to everyone. If I don't already have your email, go ahead and PM me the details. Also, I'm still waiting on Lialda's PFS#.


If no one objects, I will go through the gameplay thread and list all the loot we've found, and also who claimed it (or if we gave it away). Then I'll post the list so people can claim anything else they want. Then I will tally the value of everything we are selling and the value of what everyone kept, and let people know how much extra money they have. (I assume we sell for half?)

Is everyone willing to chip in from their share for a full wand of cure moderate wounds? It's a significant expense for level 4, but split among all of us, it's not too bad.

That sounds fine Garri. And I'm not opposed to pooling, but wouldn't be better to buy just a bunch of CLW wands? Could we even get a CMW wand in Trunau?

I think that's an excellent idea for the loot Garri.

As for the wand I do not object on principle although I would like to see what our resources are before making any decisions.

I object to buying the Cure Moderate Wounds wand. Its 4500 gp and will only heal 600 gp on average (2d8+3 per charge). What we should do is buy 6 wands of Cure Light Wounds for 4500 gp (or, maybe 3 only...).

A single wand of cure light wounds heals an average of 275 hp, so to get eh same amount of healing we need 2.18 wands or 3 if you round up, which gives more healing at half the cost.

OK, I understand where you guys are coming from. I'm a bit concerned if we need to heal faster, but Garri does have the ability to spontaneously cast heal spells.

As for needing express healing, that is a problem, especially since were going against giants who hit like a truck. Maybe we can get 2-3 CLW wands for normal healing and then a CMW wand with 10-15 charges for emergencies? That should be more cost effective and cover our bases.

GM Shadowlord are we allowed partially charged wands?

Alternatively if we're concerned with really hard hitting enemies like giants our divine casters could start preparing shield other in order to split the damage up.

Yes I can do that. I'll see if I can get around to writing out what each column does to so others can use it more easily. I've got it set up to calculate stuff based on both cash and goods value. Basically I hate tracking money so I let it do it for me. :)


I've done most of the work for Garri's level up. I'm waiting to buy gear before I transfer the changes over to the forum.

I also still need to know about learning to read.

If you are putting a point into linguistics, I'd pick up another language with it as well. Statistically you have everything you need to read and write common, so there is no need to punish yourself for it on skill points. You can easily say that you spent time with either High Priestess Tyari Varvato or one of the party members to help you make progress with reading.

With the 1500 gp we are at 7243 gp. Which is 1448.6 gp each.

@GM Shadowlord, could you give us a price for the items in the last list on my previous post? Or at least appraise DCs?

If we can get up over 1500 gp each we should be able to get a +1 weapon and +1 armor each, assuming we have MWK stuff to upgrade.

Yep, I missed the part asking me to clarify those. I'll go back and find out what they are.


Garri is not going to keep the heavyload belt. It's just too expensive (2000 gp) for what it does.
