Perem Merritt |

Perem nodded their thanks to Eir before the mildly green-looking oracle plopped down next to the sitting gearhead, "Maybe not easier but possibly worth it. I think the question more is which area do we know that is safest rather than risking finding the next area even worse..."

Brass Avasa |

"The place we slept last...night? Day?" Brass rubbed her eyes. "Time. Time will work."

Perem Merritt |

Perem nodded as she moved to her feet. She reached a hand out to help Brass up, "That sounds like a plan." she replied to Eir. Perem liked having a plan though was worried about the people and all the blood they've found. She tried not to feel too disappointed in herself...

Brass Avasa |

"This rescue mission is not going well," Brass grumbled as she picked herself up and headed for the suggested room. How much longer before someone else tried coming down? Well, at least they'd killed a lot of the more dangerous creatures...if not all of them.
She glared at the room with the plant thing before she left, silent thinking of grenades.

Brass Avasa |

As she stood guard, Brass worked. The parts of the various robots and machines they had defeated were lined up. So was some parts of the room. Hey, any source of metal would do, if it was structually sound and and not compromised.
Most important were the parts salvaged from Mr Black.
Focusing the unique methods of magic, technology and madness, Brass began working. Armour plating. That was the thing. Black had been torn apart in seconds, before she had any chance to repair him. The plant thing had done the same to her, her Mobius Armour not taking up enough of the damage before it knocked her down.
Power. More power too. Destroying a threat before it could even target the armour, that wasn't a bad idea either. The Aeria Gloris could be upgrade magically, of course, but if she had more power the weapon would work better. Mr Black used his fists, so more mass would help there...
As Brass worked, the two sets of machinery came together, using whatever bits she could get her hands on. The room was noticibly lighter of metal by the time it was getting towards the end of the rest.
"BWAHAHA! RIIIIISE AGAAAAIN!"
Brass crowed as the massive form of Mr Black rose back to his feet. Although it looked like much the same machine as before, it was noticibly bigger, bulkier. The black and bronze metalwork was scratched and marked in places, and the hands - now significantly larger - hand domes of brass on the knuckles and fingers.
Of course, Brass herself was now wearing a strange suit of powered armour, a small engine of some kind on the back, and pneumatics on the joints. The Mobious Core shone on one shoulder, powering the suit, and the crossbow sat on the other.
"Stupid plants, let's see them try it now..."

Perem Merritt |

Perem had taken an earlier watch and tried to sleep during Brass's turn. It wasn't the moving of metal or clanging of crafting that bothered her - she had long been used to sleeping through such happenings in the workshop - but her dreaming once again being followed around by cackling and piercing eyes and reaching twisted hands as Perem tripped over pink stones.
Perem woke up with a start as Brass shouted with glee. Perem rubbed her side which in her grogginess she could swear she could still feel a touch. She peered over to what Brass was doing, tilted head full of messy hair.
"Impressive..." she said with a sleepy smile. "Are you planning to get revenge or do you want to check the other rooms first?" Perem said as she looked around the now far less cluttered room from where she sat in her bedroll...

Brass Avasa |

Brass considered this for a moment. "Nah. It's enough to know I could melt them into a pile of mush. To turn them to compost. To render them to ash." Blink twitched slightly. "But they're not going anywhere. I can always come back later."
Taking a deep breath, she focused. "OK. Let's go back to that t-corridor outside the murdery robot room (the one between C11 and C9) and try the door we didn't before."
The one just next to the doors to C9 that looks like a single room we haven't explored.

GM Rednal |
"Cautious Warning: Brass may need to be evaluated for sanity." Eir whispered to Perem as Brass made like a mad scientist.
Returning to the central lift, you headed west (at least, you were pretty sure it was west - hard to tell down here), finding yourselves in a hall that... connected right back to the entrance. It had a second hallway branching off that connected to the southern passage. The good news is that you had a much better sense of the area's layout now.
Map updated!

Brass Avasa |

"Okie-Dokie," Brass considered, thinking of the layout. "Let's try the doors to the South of that medical area."
The Southern double doors in the T-Shaped corridor on the East side.

Perem Merritt |

Perem chuckled at Eir's remark with a smile before packing up. The oracle walked with Brass and Eir around the place, trying not to grumble too much about the weird layout and looking for any sign of other people, before they went back towards the medical area, "I hope nothing else stabs us..." Perem said with resignation...
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Brass Avasa |

"Probably," Brass said with a sigh. "But we need to find that one before we can use it." She headed for the two rooms they still hadn't gotten into.
We'll try the one to the South East of C9, then the one South West of it if that one is locked.

Perem Merritt |

Perem nodded in agreement. Finding all these small rectangle keys was proving an on-going challenge. She followed cautiously behind Brass...
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

GM Rednal |
Heading just a bit north, you easily opened the door in question. Four narrow stalls take up the south portion of this room, their doors and partitions not quite reaching the tiled floor or ceiling above. A fifth door stands to the west, while a strange metal basin protrudes from the wall immediately to the east of the entrance.

Brass Avasa |

Oh, after all that peeing in the corner now we find the bathroom...
Brass began to search the area with only mild clanking, Mr Black joining in too.
Perception (Brass): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Perception (Black): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Perem Merritt |

XD. At least there is one...
Perem followed Brass and Black's example of checking the room before the oracle went to check and try the door to the West.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

GM Rednal |
Yyyyyup. XD
In the room to the west, there's little other than what looks like a lever and a small, cone-ish object with many holes in it near the ceiling. A quick test shows that water comes out when the lever is moved. It - and the other things in this chamber - appear to be in good working order.

Brass Avasa |

"Useful," Brass commented, refilling her water skins while the water seemed good. Once she was done, and Perem was ready, she prepared to head for the next area they hadn't explored. If the card wasn't there, they'd need to look in the slime room and the plant rooms again.
Heading for the room South West of C9 now.

Perem Merritt |

"Most useful room and least harmful yet..." Perem said as she tested the water on her skin before following Brass's example and then heading out.warily looking as she did...
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

GM Rednal |
This room reeks of stagnant water and decaying vegetation. A long trough of water runs along the walls of this room; a layer of brown scum and algae grows on the water's surface and on the walls. A single workstation sits in the middle of the room connected to a large machine made of tubes and bubbling tanks of water. It was clearly inhabited until recently, but signs point to a fairly hasty abandoning of the area.

Brass Avasa |

"Well, this is nasty. Maybe we should use the other room to clean up later." Still, she searched. You never knew where a keycard might be. She waved for Black to do the same, the lumbering machine also looking around.
Perception (Brass): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Perception (Black): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Perem Merritt |

Perem nervously walked into the room. The last time they went into a planty room wasn't exactly great. She moved towards the workstation as she hoped for some sort of useful information or at least some useful bits...

Knowledge Engineering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Brass Avasa |

"Crap," Brass murmured, temporarily distracted by studying the control panel. "We'll have to look in the slime room and the plant room, then. Which do you think is likely?"
Knowledge (Engineering): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Perem Merritt |

Perem paused in consideration of Brass's question, "I guess the slime room since we had far less of a look in the one due to escaping from slimes?" she asked unsurely but it did seem the best one to test first. She checked the bits around the panel first before she stepped back and towards the door to leave...

GM Rednal |
There were a lot of buttons on the panel, but you'd have to know what they did to get a good result out of them. Failing that, you could press them and see what happened. Other than that, though, you weren't likely to get much out of the system (although one button definitely seemed to be an 'off' switch of some kind).

Brass Avasa |

Surpressing her desire to play with the buttons, Brass nodded. "Hopefully we can splat them, now Mr Black is back and I have superior equipment." She headed for the room the slimes had been in. Hopefully they weren't wandering the floor, or deck, or whatever this place counted as now.

Perem Merritt |

"It will be interesting to see your work...at work." Perem said awkwardly as she walked with the others to the room they'd barely looked at before...

Brass Avasa |

"Nope," Brass replied cheerfully, raising the Aeria Gloris with a Scatter Shot loaded.
To Hit (Touch: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 2 = 10

Perem Merritt |

Perem chuckled at Brass's cheery reaction, before the oracle raised a hand to blast the nearest...
Destructive Blast: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
... the tiny spark did not seem very impressive next to Brass's weapon.

Brass Avasa |

"If you slime my suit, I will...what can I do to jelly creatures I already intend to destroy? Darn." Shrugging, Brass swung Aeria Gloris at one instead.
Damage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10
Mt Black thudded up as well, a table-sized hand lashing out.
Slam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Perem Merritt |

Perem snickered at Brass, before trying to send out another blast. She didn't want to get her hopes up but this battle so far seemed to be going better than most of the recent ones...
Destructive Blast: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6

GM Rednal |
Between the two of you (or three, counting Mr. Black) - with Eir keeping your escape route clear - you made short work of the slimes. At least, you were pretty sure you'd made short work of them. They sort of slumped over and stopped moving, but it wasn't like they had blood or other things that could be obviously leaving their body.

Brass Avasa |

Looking at the attack puddings for a moment, Brass said, "Mr Black, Eir? Please keep an eye on those and shout if they get all wibbly again. We'll check the room out." She looked around. "Now if I was a weird flat metal key thing, where would I hide...?"
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Perem Merritt |

Perem pulled out her rapier and poked a bit at the blobby things. [b]"I hope these haven't eaten any keys. I mean, the last one came from that strange creature, right?" Perem said as she looked the creatures over while thinking of how to test her hypothesis...

Brass picked up the cards. "Well, the worst that can happen is they do nothing. Which room you wanna try first? I'm thinking the one close to the berserk doctor robot in case the blood we found belongs to someone nearby."

Perem Merritt |

Perem smiled brightly at the sight of the cards - in part in that they were found and another part at not having to dissect the blobs - and nodded to Brass's suggestion. "That does sound the best place to start testing..." before heading that way...

GM Rednal |
Map updated.
A row of beds sits along the southern wall of this well-lit room. Glowing screens and metal desks sit on the opposite walls, and splatters of blood adorn the floor and several of the beds. To the east, a large metal device that is the size of a large bed hums softly. You hear a faint thumping from within - but as you open the door, you also see another robot like the one with the injecting fingers hum as it activates. There's a second machine, too. A soft whirring noise accompanies this flying mechanical creature. Its arms and hands end in spindly, multi-jointed fingers, and four circular rotors hold the creature aloft.

"Nope, I remember how stabby you are," Brass muttered, triggered a device so her armoured rippled with small arcs of power.
Electromagnetism +2 AC, +4 again metal weapons.

GM Rednal |
A moment after Brass triggered her defenses - and they were definitely metal - the machines moved forward. The hovering one came first, and a strange tube stuck out of its body. A moment later, Brass could hear a throbbing sound as shockwaves pulsed out of it.
Ranged Attack vs Normal AC (Brass): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Fortunately, her armor managed to resist the worst of the effects. The other machine lumbered forward, poking out with needle-like fingers.

Brass Avasa |

Brass grinned, as the free hair on her head slowly rose. "~I don't suppose you're willing to stand down?~" she asked in Androffan, swinging her weapon to make her point.
To Hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Perem stared wide eyed at the bloody mess. After the stabby-bot attacked Brass, Perem focused and attacked back...
Destructive Blast: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
...before calling out, "Is anyone else from Torch in here?" and looking for signs of people.

Don't forget to include currently-active buffs at the bottom of posts - helps make sure neither of us forgets!
You heard louder thumps from the opaque tube.
Meanwhile, the somewhat-battered white bot seemed to be slowly fixing itself as it continued trying to inject Brass with... well, injectables. Who knew what the fluid was?
Claw (Brass): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
The other one focused on Perem, and another shockwave rippled through the air.
Ranged Attack (Perem): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
For now, though, the two of you were managing to avoid the attacks of the machines.

Brass Avasa |

Dodging the blow, Brass swung again. "~Halt repair protocol,~" she shouted as she attacked. It was worth a try.
To Hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 = 9
Mr Black continued to attack the one hanging back.
