Khere brings a sign of relief and thanks Malik for agreeing with him in not desecrating the remains.

Khere then adds, "Maybe you could sketch the departed, Malik. It would help others remember him."

Khere studies the armor and asks the others about it.

"What do you think of this armor?"

By putting your heads together, you know that this is:
Akhentepi's Armor:
This suit of +1 padded
armor is of traditional Osirian design,
consisting of a quilted cuirass of
lightweight, breathable linen; a linen
kilt; and a teardrop-shaped groin
guard of stiffened linen. You know that it
has other properties that you cannot yet
identify; one is another armor enhancement,
and the other is a magical property related
to initiative.

Khere smiles at the accomplishments he and his newfound friends have done.

"We have done much in exploring this tomb! Come friends, group hug!"

I had to toss into a funny scene of a muscular aasimar paladin wanting to give his not so muscular friends a hug. ;)

Jibril glares at the paladin, shaking his head.

You move carefully back to the only area that had a door you did not explore. Talon moves ahead, looking for traps. You go through a door, and find a short flight of stairs down followed by another door. Talon carefully checks that door for traps and then opens it.

A brightly painted chariot sits in the center of this chamber.
Beyond the chariot, a large canvas stretches between two stone
columns. The skins of several animals—antelopes, great cats,
and crocodiles—now faded and deteriorated with age, are
tacked to this canvas. A wooden chest, lacquered white and
trimmed with gold inlay, sits in the southeast corner. In each
corner of the room a small stone shield is molded into the
masonry at shoulder height. An open hallway leads to the east,
and a set of stone double doors leads south.

Jibril cautiously looks around the room, checking for traps.

Take 20 for perception, +6. If the room is clear, he also checks the chest, again +6. I guess Talon could also do the same.

Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online)

Jibril, there is a trap on the chest, set to trigger when the chest is opened.

Talon's Disable Device being better than mine (spectacular dice throwing notwithstanding) I'll go with assist other.

Jibril nods to Talon, in the direction of the chest, mouthing the word "trap". He moves up to help Talon disable the trap.

Khere was a bit disappointed that his companions didn't want to do a group hug, but he pushed it aside as they explored the other remaining chambers.

He looked at the chariot, wondering if they could disassemble it and carry it out of the tomb. The aasimar paladin also studied the stone shield, curious about it as he wagged his tail a bit.

Malik allows those more skilled with disabling traps to take care of it and paces about the room. He sketches anything he finds of interest.

Can we assume from here on out that when our lives are not too terribly threatened that Malik will keep a record of their delves? Notes, sketches that kind of thing.

Braydir steps back and allows Talon and Jibril to go to work on the trapped chest.

Did we leave the magical armor behind or take it?

Malik, that assumption sounds fine.

Since it's the weekend, I'll give Talon a bit longer.

first is a brief biography of Akhentepi, and the second is
a list and description of the various military campaigns
conducted by the nation of Osirion between 2350 and 2450

After thinking a bit Khere speaks up, "I believe we should take the chariot with us. I know it's bulky and big and all but I feel that it's former master would be honored that it was put to use once more or that others may study it and marvel at the greatness of my country's great past. And besides it shouldn't be that hard to disassemble right?"

He also suggests to each of his companions that one of them should wear the newly acquired armor, saying, "Akhentepi would most likely be pleased and honored that one of us wears the armor. I would wear it, but I prefer heavier armor I'm afraid."

You move out of the current room, and into a short hallway where four funerary masks hang, staring down as if in judgment at anyone standing in the corridor.

Khere:
From west to east, the masks
depict the gods Pharasma, Abadar, Sekhmet, and Osiris.

A table displaying a three-dimensional diorama occupies much
of the north side of this room. Three shields with different
designs are displayed upon a rack against the east wall, while
various weapons hang from another rack along the south wall.
Arrayed around the room are five small chests and a clay urn.

With a sculpted landscape and tiny stone and wooden
statues, the diorama depicts an ancient battle between the
city of Wati and an unidentified enemy. The rack to the
east proudly displays three shields. The shield on the right
is a light wooden shield identical to the shields carried
by the soldiers in the diorama. It bears Ancient Osiriani
hieroglyphs that spell the name “Akhentepi,” marking
those soldiers as under the command of Akhentepi. The
light wooden shield on the left does not appear to be
Osirian in origin. The center shield is unusual in
that it is a light steel shield shaped like a scarab; it matches
the one borne by Akhentepi in engravings you saw earlier. The rack on the south wall holds a composite shortbow, a khopesh, and a spear.

If you move into this room, please move your token on the map, or if you can't, describe what you do so someone else can.

Khere was about to move around the room, when Jibril cautioned about the traps.

"Um...Good call, Jibril," the aasimar paladin said worryingly, while breathing a sigh of relief that he hadn't been killed before the dhampir said his warning.

"I've always wanted to wield a khopesh. Surely, Akhentepi would be honored to know that his weapons, armors, and shields are being used for good of Osirion and her people," the aasimar said joyously, wagging his tail. He continued to speak as he pointed at the strange shield, "I wonder where he got that shield though." He's pointing at the one that isn't from Osirion.

Khere, however, was also interested in that strange and very unique scarab-looking shield.

Still, he was no fool as he readied himself just in case of a hidden enemy or trap.

Khere is now ready against approach, which means, if an enemy was approach him/move pass him, Khere would interrupt their movement and be able to attack them. I found this move is extremely useful. I always use it with all my martial characters!
