Getting started.

Work out a party and submit your characters.

Any character or race from the Players Guild except Summoner, Dhampir, and Changelings. One Dhampir has been submitted but I am not a big fan of the Advanced Races Guild. The way I see Dhampir is that they are loners who don't work well with others especially another Dhampir. Contact me if you want something outside this. I am flexible.

2 traits plus one from the character guild. No drawbacks.

Average gold per class

Use Background Skills from Unchained and work them into your background somehow. They are not just free points. You have to earn them.

This is only my second attempt at GMing PbP. This first was a small adventure just to see how I would do. I liked it so now I am trying it on a larger scale.

Assuming you mean Guide, not Guild.

And Class, not character.

Since the CC player's Guide was before ACG, are ACG classes off the list?


Well if you ask nicely he may let you play a class from ACG. Like I asked to be warpriest and he OKed it.

That's what I get for rushing before I leave for work.


I'm a bit of a lawyer with the OP of a recruitment and or Character creation guidelines and like things to be clear on options and limits, if things seems to vague

And it seems the divine role is completely covered while; Assault, Arcane, and Skilled roles need some filling.

But I had another idea that I'll be PMing the GM with their was no mention on 3PP.
(Beta content was free and I know some GM's and Players after seeing it liked it)


I'm thinking I might try to be a rogue. I had a character concept for a spellcaster, but I don't think they fit the theme of a horror style campaign.


Kinda in hard to choose here, so I'll randomise it down to two

Class1: 4d20 ⇒ (12, 17, 6, 18) = 53 BloodRager, *Brawler, Paladin, *Ninja
Class2: 4d20 ⇒ (20, 9, 11, 14) = 54 *Bard, Skald, Alchemist, *Sorcerer
Class3: 4d20 ⇒ (15, 14, 6, 19) = 54 *Brawler, Ninja, Bard, *Sorcerer

So a toss between Brawler and Sorcerer....

I just need to get the backstory stuff on here.
Going lighter on the combat prowess since it seems like we already got a good amount of that.


Working on Backstory and such. Also, any other language people think would be good?


Working on crunch and building backstory based on crunch.


As characters are created I am putting them into my Hero Lab to make sure nothing is missing and it will help me keep track of the character as we move along.

Looks like we will have 6 characters. You 4 plus my two sons. I have read about half the material so far and should be ready to go soon.

Maps are going to be in Google Drive when we get started. I will post the links as we need them.

Lantern Lodge

This is what I'm thinking I will play.

Quinn Dealnegru's background:
In the West of Ustalav near the border of the Hold of Belkzen lives a family of wealthy farmer and his family. For their choice of property, the family and village nearby where every so often attacked by orc raiders. The family provided a good deal of the villages food so they were never on their own when these skirmishes took place never the less they defended their land with all the zeal and fire their hearts could muster.

Now when the youngest of the farmer’s sons Quinn Dealnegru was old enough to help in the defense of his home, he bought a fine sword with the hard-earned allowance his father had given him for his help around the farm. When the day finely came that the orcs came to raid once more Quinn was ready. He clashed blades with a particularly large and ugly brute and CRACK his blade was sundered and he was forced to run.

Feeling to survive his first encounter was worthy enough a feat he did not hesitate to get a new weapon for surely there would come a time he could face this threat again. But swords are no cheap thing so he settled on a fine heavy ax. When again the green tide washed upon his home he did not hesitate to engage them to perhaps regain his honor. As he swung his ax down at a great beast it grabbed it by the handle and yanked it out of Quinn’s hands and knocked him over the head with it.

After the initial joy to be alive Quinn looked back on his failures and decided distance was the problem. If the orc can’t get close, it can’t hurt you, right? So, from a long sturdy branch in their orchard Quinn made a spear. And so came another battle. As Quinn pierced the first of the orcs another ran past the spear stuck fast in his ally and Dealt Quinn an almost fatal blow.

Seeing the cruel joke fate was playing on his son Quinn’s father decided if his son would have no luck in combat he would have skill. Quinn was sent to train in the art of combat under an old elven warrior whose family never felt the shining crusade quite finished with the whispering tyrant’s abominations still roaming the countryside. Under this old elven friend of his father he was taught many principles and techniques of fighting chief of which where how to dodge and block. As time went on, Quinn found he used his shield as often as his new sword for fighting.

After a few years of training and traveling with his master Quinn decided to make a living guarding people from the beasts that plague the roads of Ustalav. And after getting some seed money from his father for equipment, he made a decent living as a guard for hire. And it was in this capacity he first meet Professor Petros Lorrimor.

Once he had meet professor and having a chance to talk to such a widely studied individual, for his old master only knew war and combat, he would look out for the professor’s travels for a chance to work for him. Quinn even went to a few of the professor’s lectures. It seemed that the professor Lorrimor also liked the inquisitive compony as well as strong arm of this young farmer gone bodyguard. It is of these moments that Quinn now ponders as he heads off to say his last farewells to his scholarly friend.

Hmmm, maybe I should swap to alchemist or investigator. I can still be the skill monkey, and focus less on the melee/martial, and have some arcane/alchemy we seem to be missing.

that is beyond me, though it could of been bad timing with certain technical things that happen behind the scenes with the internet.


I checked the message boards and this has happened a few times. We will try it again tomorrow and if that does not work we will contact Chris Lambertz at Paizo. He seems to be the man to fix things like this.
