Kranzer smiles as he watches the others play with the child. He says to Geoclunicus, "Well sometimes they're quite nice! Though that one time I had to fight a big zombie dragon weren't fun at all. No sir! Flesh dripped off it like a waterfall I tell ya. Shook pieces of it off as it walked, almost like a wet dog, ha HA!"
If he notices the child listening to him, he closes his mouth with a stubby hand over it, a muffled, "Oops." clearly audible.

Merisiel drinks. Water beads on the glass and leaves a ring stain on the table. The glass clatters as she sets it down, sloshing. The water quickly evaporates, and outside clouds form in their endless cycle.
Kids. They just grow old and die, like everyone else.
She looks out the window. with a view to the bridge over the river Yolubilis. The silver city is resplendent in the glittering afternoon sun. The ancient bricks and tiles look almost ageless. Clouds float by and are gone in a few heartbeats. The rolling sound of wagon wheels, clip-clop of horses hooves, and clanging sounds of bells and ships in the harbor are muffled by the window pane.
Even though this kid's life will go by in almost a blink of an eye, he deserves to live free. We savor the beginning, but not the end of things. And I guess that's what this is.
She peers at the frothy liquid in her mug, and takes another swig.

Looking at the child he will also tell him
Did you know that there are good dragons as well and they are nice and not mean? he says

GM PDK |

The mother comes for the teenager as she needs his help in the kitchen. She politely asks Riceak to keep watching for the little one in exchange for a free round for everyone. A few bar stools away from Merisiel the old man falls asleep over the bar.
Suddenly, a blue dragon the size of a cat appears to fight the knight wielded by the child!

![]() |

Merisiel blinks in surprise, and looks at Riceak. "Is that you doing that?" she says, and looks back at the dragon. She slowly reaches toward a dagger in one of her sheathes under the table, placing her hand on the hilt but not drawing it.
It can't be real, must be magic right? But if it is real, better make sure the kid doesn't get hurt...

While the others are distracted, the elf slips from her chair and heads for nearby shadows. A hallway, a door, a curtain, or a wall out of torchlight. She moves slowly, to not attract attention to her movements, but not so slowly it seems out of place. She is not the center of attention here.
Who is watching, surprised, and who is looking at it in a more focused way? Ears, what do you hear? Does this thing create its own noises too? Do I hear other sounds that should not be heard?
Once in a good place, Merisiel scans the room looking up and down, left and right. She keeps the dragon in view, but looks for whatever might be using it as a diversion.
stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Riceak's hand passes right through it - either a ghost or some kind of illusion magic!

![]() |

With a little prayer to Sheyln he will invoke his goddess to help him detect any magical auras/

![]() |

Merisiel watches Riceak's hand pass right through it. "I was expecting politics and bar-fights, not ghost dragons. Any ideas? Do you think it's dangerous?"
She pauses. With one hand she slowly eases one of her daggers from her sheath, keeping it concealed between her palm and her body.
"Or related?" she finishes.

Kranzer's eyes go wide as the dragon appears. Maybe the kid's a magic-person?
He observes the child some more and waits around for Clenchjaw to arrive.
Is there anyone else at the bar other than the child and the staff?

GM PDK |

Currently one lady cleaning the kitchen and doing food preparation with her teenage son. In the common room, beside the party, her younger son is with Riceak, and an old drunk is sleeping at the bar in the corner. It is 1pm, so the tavern is quite dead as most Kintargans are at work.

Andracar enjoys the child making believe. If there is an appropriate time, he will use Ghost Sound to create a dragon roaring, or some other appropriate sound effect to keep the child's dreams alive. He will similarly use his dancing lights or prestidigitation if either finds a usefulness to keep joy in the child's heart.

![]() |

Merisiel sheaths her dagger. "Well this was fun, but seems like the place is going to be dead until evening. I pitch that we go out and see what kind of trouble we can find!"
She skirts along the edge of the tavern, away from the dragon, and makes towards the door.

The half elf looks up to the rafters and says What a magnificent specimen is up there he says quietly. I have seen your kind before little faerie dragon. he says in a friendly tone.
He has been through the Sanos SAbduction with Aurora the Fairy dragon

![]() |

I rolled the perception last night and why would I need to roll a knowledge on something he has already seen and interacted with before?

GM PDK |

There's a boon kicking around for previous knowledge; sorry those are the rules. And perception is as a result of Andracar's spell which has just illuminated the rafters; dragon rolled low, so you may be lucky. Also, it's faster to just do what the GM says, in general, instead of asking for the whys and hows.

![]() |

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
I think that is a stupid rule, as if all of a sudden he forgets everything that he knows and has experienced at the end of the scenario. It is not like I didn't give the scenario that he played in where he encountered the little dragon. Do I need to make Know Local checks every time I meet a new character so that I can recognized what race they are? That is the same logic here.

GM PDK |

You haven't seen the dragon; he was in total darkness before Andracar's spell, and afterwards, he managed to hide from you using the rafters as cover due to your poor Perception roll.
Also, consider this my first warning, or yellow card if you will. If you don't like following the PFS rules please don't apply to my games. In fact, I will consult the online VC on this because you signed in both Core and Classic table, and you are showing evidence of being a disruptive player.

![]() |

Do what you have to do but disagreeing with the rule isnt the same thing as disagreeing with you as a DM. Remember you were also running a this game so that I would run a Giant slayer game for you so keep that in mind as well.

GM PDK |

It's just a game, and rolling dice is supposed to be fun, not this! I will of course bow out of your Giant Slayer game, which I see no evidence of starting at this time, but also because my time is limited and I want to enjoy the games I'm in, not argue with angry players. If the game isn't fun for you, I advise you step down, as we haven't been through the first encounter yet, and you'll do so at no penalty.

![]() |

I wasnt angry, I was disagreeing with the rule and part of the reason we havent started the Giant Slayer game is because you havent checked in or decided on a character

GM PDK |

Respectfully, I have decided to bow out of your upcoming Giant Slayer AP - however, I'm sure that others in this game may be willing to take my spot, and you can certainly offer it on the recruitment thread. Up to this point, I had no idea you were waiting for me. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused to your Giant Slayer campaign. I wish you luck, fun and great gaming moments! Regards, GM PDK

Now, for those still with us, let us resume Gameplay, and keep all non-game conversations on the Discussion thread. Thank you!

![]() |

Good luck to the rest of you dont' disagree with a rule or he will throw you out of his games

GM PDK |

In all due respect Jason, I've GM'ed you before (such as when you joined my Confirmation game a few months back) and no one was thrown out. I do note, however, that you were the only difficult player in that group, and now I see how you react if a GM stands firm on a ruling with you. In fact, I've never thrown out a player in PbP so far. You were the closest, but all I did was issue you a warning, and that's how you chose to react. Therefore please do not apply to any of my games in the future, as a courtesy. Both for your sake and mine. Thank you.

Merisiel sees a tiny blue dragon with butterfly wings, hiding in the rafters! it seems concerned a little, that you've seen him! ...but despite the risk, you see his tiny little dragon claws wiggle as he keeps controlling the blue dragon illusion for the entertainment of the child below.

![]() |

No, you did more than that you reported me to the VC in your own words. Do not apply to my games either and please remember that we are not on a first name basis, we are not friends.

GM PDK |

GM NOTE: game in on PAUSE until this is resolved outside of these threads. Apologies for the inconvenience.

GM PDK |

The little blue dragon in the rafters sees that Merisiel has spotted him. He smiles and winks at her, and keeps controlling the blue dragon illusion below, interacting with the child for a few more minutes. He then wiggles his little claws a different way, and the child below peacefully goes to sleep.
He flies down to address the adventurers in a high pitched voice that he attempts to keep low, "Ok... they're all ssssleeping now... we're all alone. My name's Vendalfek. No need for weaponsss, elf lady. Jussss wanna talk! What'sssss your names? you folks sssseem like an interesssting bunch! t'wassss niccccce of you to play with the chhhhhhild!"
The little blue dragon appears friendly and impressed by the group.

Kranzer blinks at the appearance of the dragon. "Whoah! Look'a that, a little dragon thing and it ain't got no dead flesh hangin' off it. That's a relief. Well little guy, name's Kranzer Kraken-Mouth at yer service. So I guess it's better to ask you what's goin' on 'ere?"

GM PDK |

The little dragon grins. "My old hangout was the Thrashing Badger... sssssince it burnt down, I've been hanging here insssstead. But thissss place here is much more boring than the good old Badger. One mussst... liven things up a little ssssometimes!"
He winks at you all.

Andracar looks disapprovingly at the small dragon. "You should not override the wills of others! It's not very nice." The irony in his statement is completely lost on the gnome.

![]() |

"A nice move, putting them to sleep!" Merisiel says to the dragon. "Won't work on me of course. As far as interesting, you'll just have to try and keep up!" She winks at the dragon.
To Kranzer "Dead flesh? Where have you been hanging out lately?" Wait, I probably don't want to know."
To Andracar "I wonder, do you think this is the source of the nightly brawls? Maybe we can ask him to leave?"

GM PDK |

"Hey, pointy earsss! I'm right here, you know!!" says the little dragon, feigning offense, miserably, as he doesn't seem to be able to remove his grin. "It wouldn't take much to convinccccce me... thisss place is boring... I need a new placcccce... are you guys in town for long? can I hang out with you guys?"

![]() |

Kranzer says to Merisiel, "Nope elf lady, no you sure don't want to know!"
He then says to the dragon, "So YOU'RE the one doin' all this, eh? Well ain't that a slug on a ghoul's back! Somethin' so little causing such a ruckus. So here's the deal, we got a bit of a situation on our hands. We need this place safe and quiet so those guys with pikes, the government, don't shut it down. Other than that, sure you can come with us. So long as you help put me ta sleep at night. Look'a that boy, looks like he's dreamin' already. Love magical sleep, ya get such a refreshing feeling waking up!"

GM PDK |

Vendalfek beams with joy and pride, "Deal, Kranzer Kraken-Mouth! You don't have to worry about Clenchjaw's place anymore: without me putting him to sssleep, he will nip any brawl in the bud like he used to. And you bring a good point about the dottari zealotsss... more brawling here might have brought their attention to this placccce... hmm... I'm sowwy?".
Vendalfek bat his eyelashes, or what serves as eyelashes with reptiles... it is a bit disturbing. But comical nonetheless.
"As for you, I shall put you to sssssssleep every night. Do you want thisss at the sssame time every night, or do you wish for me to ssssurprise you with sssleep at a location that is mossssst fun? I can alssso breathe in your face to make you drunk, if you want to sssave on beer!"

![]() |

"...sure you can come with us..."
Merisiel nods. "Agreed, and no need for weapons. I like what you did for that boy, even though I was a bit surprised. Wanna join the silver ravens?"
"As for you, I shall put you to sssssssleep every night. Do you want thisss at the sssame time every night, or do you wish for me to ssssurprise you with sssleep at a location that is mossssst fun?"
Merisiel claps her hands. "I vote for surprise!"
"..you don't have to worry about Clenchjaw's place anymore: without me putting him to sssleep, he will nip any brawl in the bud like he used to..."
"We can probably use your help if you don't like the Dottari. Are you able to hide, as we take you back with us to see our base?" she pauses and puts her hand on her hip. "Or, we could put you in a sack?" she says, and grins.
Too bad there was no brawl. I must be getting as edgy as the guards to be thinking like that though. Now we're out of leads.

"Yeah what the pretty lady says is...wait, surprise?? Well I'll make you a gamble little dragon, if 'ol Kranzer here can't spot ya before he goes ta bed then well that's how the curdled witch-fingers roll! Ya can surprise me all ya like once I'm safe and sound in my room. Can't be puttin' me ta sleep in the middle of a scrap, eh? But yep, otherwise if Kranzer can't spot ya, Kranzer goes ta sleep!"
I suspect Kranzer might be sleeping on the floor most nights.

GM PDK |

"You're ssssstarting back the Silver Ravens? hahahah! good one! ... ..... ....... wait, you're sssssserioussssss?!?! reallly? I'm in!!! where's our new base? where's our new base??? and yesss... I can hide real well... no sssack... no ssssaaaaaaaaaaaack!!! please?"

![]() |

"In the worst of cases I can hide him. I'm quite good at hiding things. And people. And bodies." He says this matter of fact, because of course there's an awful lot of call for hiding bodies in the society.

GM PDK |

Vendalfek looks at Andracar with a worried look, "You're quite sssssserious for a gnome. Is this vibrant orange color in your hair natural?"

![]() |

"Of course it is natural! If I wanted to go unnatural, I would go with slightly translucent hair." The barrage of questions in his mind distracts him momentarily. He attempts to think back answers to about half of the questions. I am unmarried, from Cheliax, I am moderately well off. He smiles, content that their cadre will be able to handle most situations if this is the difficulty set.

GM PDK |

At this point the heroes can return to the Long Roads Coffeehouse to show the little dragon his new home, hang out the rest of the day at Clenchjaw's or head out into town. Vendalfek mentions that the place gets busy around suppertime, but that it will be kind of dead like this until then.
