If you guys want to build a little momentum before the game starts, I'd suggest discussing everybody's roles in the party, as well as plans for character progression.

Finally, if any of you share campaign traits, it might be interesting to integrate a bit of shared backstory. It's up to you! I'll be checking in online every so often over the weekend to try and answer any question

Checking in. Thank you very much for picking me! :)

Checking in as well. Very excited to run through this adventure path. If anyone would like to work on an integrated backstory with Adrien, I would love to do so. Thanks for picking me, Olmek.

F Ratfolk Unchained Rogue (Numerian Scavenger) 1| HP 9/9; AC 16, touch 14, ff 13; F0, R5, W2; Init +3; Perception +8

Checking in. Thanks for the selection -- this looks to be very cool.

Female Aasimar Inquisitor of Ragathiel 1 | HP 11/11; AC 15, touch 11, ff 14; F4, R1, W5; Init +3; Perception +7

Checking in. Thank you for selecting me for this game! I'll review the info of my fellow party members tomorrow and coordinate from there. Hope we all have a good time!

So, are we waiting on a 5th party member or are we sticking with 4?

Because I think one of us should let the rest of the recruitment thread know the GM has made his selections.

There's one more player: El Ronza's Zoresk Totem-Caller.

Alrighty then.

*Lurch voice* You rang?

It's been a busy day, but I'm here, and I should be able to start when we're all ready. I'm a fan of integrating backstories, but I'd have to read over things and see what folks are like. Zoresk is new to Torch though, so may not have had much chance to talk to anyone yet.

F Ratfolk Unchained Rogue (Numerian Scavenger) 1| HP 9/9; AC 16, touch 14, ff 13; F0, R5, W2; Init +3; Perception +8

Skikkikitikut has been in Torch for over a year, so there's a good chance she knows Sarona, especially since they are both tinkerers. She's very shy around the unfurred, so unless Sarona has approached her, they probably won't have spoken much. I can definitely see her having picked up some of the mechnical toys that Sarona or Val made and taking them apart and putting them back together several times, with the end result probably being something strange but functional.

Might also mention that while she currently doesn't worship anyone in particular, Skikkikitikut could definitely be converted to Brigh at some point in the future.

As for party role, she's aiming towards covering classic rogue dex skills and non-magical knowledges, and being able to back up wis skills like survival, heal, and sense motive. Combat will be sneaking and natural attacks. Given where we've ended up, partywise, I'm considering taking a level of Gunslinger (Techslinger) once we start finding blasters, though if someone else was planning on going heavily into guns, she'll just support them instead.

We've got several Technologists and probably several of us are interested in eventually doing tech crafting. Skikkikitikut was built to handle all facets of that, if need be, but if we want to break things out into specialties, I'm down with that, too.

Oh, and she answers to "Stickie" if you ever find yourself getting lost typing all those k's.

Adrien has been in Torch for several months, although he has visited the town previously in his travels. He has a few friends in town, although most recognize him, or rather Ozymandias, on site. Adrien's optimistic naivete makes it entirely possible he's approached Stickie or any other "outsider" in Torch, in aims of making friends and colleagues. He usually travels with Ozymandias at his side, making it rather easy to spot him in a crowd or on the street.

Adrien is likely going to be a bit of a knowledge monkey, as well as magical support. Truthfully, he's entirely optimized for exploring ruins with his variety of knowledge skills and practical skills such as Disable Device, while Ozymandias will be taking the Skilled (Perception) Evolution to make him a walking radar. As a pair, Adrien and Ozymandias work well as a party face. Adrien has the Charisma to be excellent at Diplomacy (currently rocking a +8) while Ozymandias has a decent Intimidate and will be growing to large size for a decent boost to Intimidate for all those smaller than him (most people). He may also take Intimidating Prowess at some point, if we need someone truly dedicated to intimidation.

In combat, Ozymandias himself is built to be a front-line combatant, plain and simple. He'll also work as decent battlefield control later on, as I plan on having him take Reach and Grab, along with the Pull evolution to keep enemies from moving from his range, as well as provoke AOO's from him. On the opposite end, Adrien provides magical support through buffs/debuffs, as well as some wands/staffs for a bit of blaster casting later on. He MAY invest in guns a bit later on, but given that he'd never be great with them he'd never be a primary combatant with them.

Male Human (Kellid) Soulknife (Feral Heart) 1

Hope it won't get too crowded on the frontline with both of us there ;-) Zoresk is a feral heart soulknife, which trades out the mind blade for psionically-charged natural attacks. At first level, he gets two claws, but as he levels up, he'll gain more attacks, and eventually pounce. The image of a guy ripping robots apart with his bare hands was far too endearing for me to resist. I also built him to have a good Intimidate, and since he doesn't have much worth spending class skills on, he'll probably keep it maxed.

If Adrien has a habit of approaching outsiders, it's entirely likely he's made contact with Zoresk at some point, who, unusually for a Kellid, would be curious about Ozymandias (love the name, btw).

Zoresk isn't a Technologist, and probably won't be going into crafting. He doesn't understand tech, nor why it's feared. He wants to learn, in hopes of finding the truth about his strange purple claws. He's eager, but not terribly bright. He's built for a muscle role, and hopefully he'll be able to keep up with Ozzy :P

Channels: 5/5|A. Touch: 6/6|F. Bolt: 5/6|Female Android Iron Priestess of Brigh 1|HP: 11/11|AC: 17/14/13|Saves: +2 Fort, +5 Ref, +5 Will (+4 vs. Paralysis, Poison, Stun)|Init: +7|Perc: +9

On the subject of shared backstories:

1) It's likely she wouldn't be familiar with Zoresk, with him being new in town.

2) Adrien & Ozzy would be intriguing to her, especially Ozzy--an eidolon taking the form of a machine would be, considering her own curiosities regarding herself and whether or not she has a soul of her own.

3) Regarding Lucrezia, I'd say Sarona would be curious about her missing arm--and could see replacing it as being her newest project.

4) I'm fine with Skikkikitikut and Sarona having only spoken a couple of times. Sarona may have seen her working Torch's forge at least once, and can respect her for her willingness to tinker.

I originally planned Sarona to be the one who handles all the techcrafting for the party, but if we'd like to specialize in different fields, I'd be alright with that.

Female Aasimar Inquisitor of Ragathiel 1 | HP 11/11; AC 15, touch 11, ff 14; F4, R1, W5; Init +3; Perception +7

Crowded in the front?! Lucrezia is a sanctified slayer inquisitor, which trades out some of the flexibility of judgments, for more focused, but not resource-limited buffs. At level 1 she's largely a bruiser herself, with the ability to double her attack values with the right buffs active. Having two front-row attackers in Zoresk and Ozymandias will help her ration her spells until they're truly needed. The inquisitor is not an especially feat intensive class, so I'm keeping my options open for how Lucrezia develops as we go along. I genuinely don't know what kind of tech we'll run into, so it will be interesting to experiment.

In terms of skills, the monster lore grants her some pretty decent insight into potential enemy strengths and weakness as we encounter them. She also has a great perception and sense motive scores for keeping alert and discerning the intentions of others. She's not too shabby when it comes to tracking and surviving in the wild, either.

Lucrezia is a neophyte when it comes to the advanced technologies of Numeria, and her interest in them is personal, not intellectual. Either way, she believes the Technic League will be the greatest obstacle in the way of her investigation and has come to Torch to seek out possible allies. It sounds like she would be the most recent arrival in Torch, possibly just after the eponymous purple flame has gone out. It wouldn't take Lucrezia long to figure out that Khonnir Baine is the man to talk to in Torch on matters technological, but that he has not returned from his investigation regarding the forge fire. This is when she likely makes the acquaintance of Sarona and learns more about Khonnir's disappearance.

Upon being brought up to date on the situation in Torch, Lucrezia's suspicions would quickly fall on the Technic League. Perhaps they have tired of Torch's pseudo-independence and have put into motion a plot to assert their control over the town. If they've discovered some way of manipulating the forge fire, they could use it to create a favorable situation for themselves. Whatever the case may be, Lucrezia is quite willing to ally herself with the next band of volunteers to track down Khonnir.

Though unrelated to the task at hand, upon seeing an android for the first time (likely Sarona) Lucrezia is instantly fascinated with them. She may have doubted at first that the secrets of Numeria would be advanced enough to replace her lost arm, but the existence of synthetic lifeforms have left her optimistic that she is on the right track. Although it is unintentional, Lucrezia is given to staring when androids are around, her mind preoccupied with the possibilities they imply.

I should probably mention that Ozymandias isn't your typical eidolon. Adrien found him in a ruin, and reactivated him. In the game world, he wouldn't actually be considered an "eidolon", although there isn't any difference mechanically. That said, Adrien is fairly certain that the control staff he found has somehow bonded Ozymandias to his soul, so Sarona's questions regarding her own would still be relevant considering.

Considering Adrien being the friendly sort he is, he'd be perfectly welcoming to Sarona or someone else wanting to take a look at Ozzy, especially if interested in how he works; he's not entirely sure himself, so he's not adverse to others trying to figure it out.

First post up in gameplay! Check it out. :)

Oh my god, I absolutely LOVE Ozzy already. "Did I do well?" nearly killed me.

Agree completely.

I'm intending for Ozzy's personality to fall somewhere on a spectrum between Baymax from Big Hero 6 and Jarvis from the MCU. Seems like I'm off to a good start.

EDIT: If anyone's wondering what Ozzy looks like, his general body shape greatly resembles the MEC troopers from XCOM: Enemy Within, with a lot more broken pieces and no minigun (unfortunately). His head would go around where the human pilot's head is, as well. Unfortunately, he will probably never get the minigun. Lasers, however, are another story.

If this game goes long enough, we'll get Ozzy a minigun. ;)

Haha, seriously. The kinds of tech we might encounter is exciting.

Male Human (Kellid) Soulknife (Feral Heart) 1

What about Deus Ex-style augmentations? Could I have metal arms with psionically-powered natural weapons? Because that would be BADASS.

F Ratfolk Unchained Rogue (Numerian Scavenger) 1| HP 9/9; AC 16, touch 14, ff 13; F0, R5, W2; Init +3; Perception +8

All I want is a blaster.

...and maybe a starship.

Hey, guys. Totally slammed today, but your posting is quality. I'll have something up first thing tomorrow. :)

Not this kind, I assume?

No worries, GM. Chill, we'll be here. =)

I'm just waiting on our GM now.

Just so you all know, I'll be doing a bit of traveling next week, so for a day or two I won't be able to post. I'll be on the road/without internet from 6/29 to 7/1, so I won't be able to post for about two days. I'm picking my girlfriend up to spend 4th of July with her, and about a week later I'll be bringing her back. Taking her back shouldn't take as long (out of city doctor's visit on the way up), so the night of 7/7 into the day of 7/8 don't expect anything from me.

I'll be around plenty for the week in between though, so don't worry about that.

Are you waiting on us to post our Round 1 Actions, GM?

Actually, I'm on vacation sans internet until the 6th. Sorry about the brief hiatus!

No problem. We'll be here when you get back. Have a nice vacation!

I hope our American players have had a safe and happy 4th of July. :)

And I'm back! I need to catch up with all of my games, but I hope to have a post up by tonight!

Welcome back~

Male Human (Kellid) Soulknife (Feral Heart) 1

Good to have you back!

My posts may slow down a bit for the next week, my laptop's got a busted LCD screen. Dunno how fast it'll be fixed, since that depends on how quickly I can find a place to do it for an affordable price.

Still have a desktop, so I won't be completely gone, though. Just around a little less.

Ouch, that sucks.

Yeah, it cracked yesterday. I'm not sure why, all I did was pick it up; I guess I put pressure on a spot that was already weak, and it was just enough to crack it, I suppose.

F Ratfolk Unchained Rogue (Numerian Scavenger) 1| HP 9/9; AC 16, touch 14, ff 13; F0, R5, W2; Init +3; Perception +8

I'm at GenCon right now, so please bot me until Tuesday.

Computer is probably not worth getting repaired, considering how much it costs to get an LCD screen replace, I'll likely just purchase a new one. I'll keep you guys in the loop, but I should still be able to post.

Female Aasimar Inquisitor of Ragathiel 1 | HP 11/11; AC 15, touch 11, ff 14; F4, R1, W5; Init +3; Perception +7

Is Sarona up first?

He said the party's up, so I'm assuming you can post in any order...

Correct. I apologize if that wasn't clear.

Male Human (Kellid) Soulknife (Feral Heart) 1

I've had a rather rough few weeks. My home situation is growing ever more hostile due to a particular family member moving back in, and I've found out that I won't have my job much longer due to there being no funding for it. So I'm looking for a job and a house, both of which are pretty unattainable right now - I can't get a home loan because I have no reliable income, and I can't get a job because I'm inexperienced in everything that's hiring. I've been stressed to high heaven at work, and when I get home, I've wanted to do nothing but sleep.

I'm still around, but I'm pretty absent right now, and trying to get my life back on track, and to not post when I'm feeling so depressed (which is pretty frequently). Please be patient with me. I'm trying to work my way back into everything.

Female Aasimar Inquisitor of Ragathiel 1 | HP 11/11; AC 15, touch 11, ff 14; F4, R1, W5; Init +3; Perception +7

Sorry to hear that. Hope you can find some stability asap.

F Ratfolk Unchained Rogue (Numerian Scavenger) 1| HP 9/9; AC 16, touch 14, ff 13; F0, R5, W2; Init +3; Perception +8

Very sorry to hear you've got so many rough things going on. I hope things get better for you soon.

GM, this goes for all of your games, but I'm saying it here since it shows up first... I'm doing most of my posting from my phone right now, and since I'm not a paying Roll20 user, I can't view the maps on said device. Rather than attempt to puzzle out where I am from descriptions and memory, I'll post when I'm at my desktop. At this point, that's tomorrow. If this is too long, just bot me - Zoresk hits things, it isn't hard!
