Everyone please dot in!

I'll have a setting post up soon.

Nary hours have passed since the selection ceremony, and only now have you been granted your room keys and given directions to your team's dormitory. A co-ed facility, it's expected that hunters and huntresses will act according to the repute they seek to obtain...

That said, by some strange arrangement of directions given, both Onyxia and Tana arrive at the dorm first. Two bunk beds grace the opposing sides of the room, with a single large multi-pane window taking the center of the wall across from the door. To one side next to the bed is closets. On the wall facing the door are a pair of desks with chairs, and two extra chairs are near the foot of the beds.

Sorzar and Beoh find their directions taking them by the cafeteria, where they are met by some other faunus students of a greater year, who wished to greet and show support for their kin. Some warnings are given about the behavior of the human students, and to be wary of any teasing. After hearing about how they handled their test, the warning is more for the other student's sake.

After spending the last hour alone enjoying the last bit of solitude she will likely have for a while she will receive her message about her room and key. She will arrive with her resolve restored and meet up with Tana going down the last hall. "Hey Tana! She will jog up to catch up with her as they approach the door. "So I know I was told a while back we would have to share tents and even blankets out in the field but it just feels weird knowing all through school we have to share the room with two boys. Especially Beoh you saw he tried to run around nude the first night who knows what he is going to do here." After opening the room and looking around. "We should take the side with the closet makes things easier.

"What, you minded? I didn't." Says Tana, smirking. But she does nod. "It's weird. We never had co-ed rooms in combat school. I guess the mission comes first now that we're going to be real huntresses." She tries to keep her face neutral, but grins a little at the end with excitement.

When they reach the room, she sets her bag heavily down on the bottom bunk. "Sounds good. Do they make the boys come later, or...?" She muses, while unpacking and putting up a couple of posters on the wall of the bottom bunk--Atlas Propaganda ("The Atlesian Knight 130 - HE KEEPS YOU SAFE") and weapon specs mostly ("New Rotating Dust Chambers - Optimal Performance and Elegance - From Schnee Dust Company"). A bigger picture goes close to the pillow of the bed - her family, all together, with a much younger and smaller Tana. Glancing around furtively, she lifts it up, taping a much smaller picture of an athletic looking boy underneath it and flipping the picture of her family back down over it.

"I am not saying it wasn't nice eye candy I am just worried about the implications. For one he is a faunes a Wolf one. they are very territorial don't get me wrong i was kinda hoping for team lead but i am not looking forward to the assertions of dominance from him especially since he wasn't even raised in a city who knows what odd beliefs he was raised with. On the flight he was already telling Carmine to sleep with me. Well at least he said to ask." she will pause her talking for a second. "Did you want top or bottom bunk?"

"I'll take the bottom bunk," she says, sticking up another poster. "I don't really..." She coughs. "I don't know much about faunus, uh, stuff. Is he really territorial just 'cause he's a wolf?" She glances over. "I mean, you're... a... uh...Caaaa...?" Her eyes glance downward. "Squir...? Uhhh..."

"Moving right along," she says, and coughs. "I'm more worried about the village berserker thing. Did you see the way he looked at Sorzar when they named him leader?" She cracks her neck, glancing at the door. "I mean, I can probably put him in a headlock, but I'm not feeling a hundred and ten-percent." She sits down heavily on the bed, holding her stomach and wincing as she folds a shirt.

Sorzar was in a relatively gloriously happy mood. Why wouldn't he be? After all, he had been selected as a team leader of SBOT. Sure, one member was a girl who tried to suplex an Ursa Major, the other was a shy girl who seemed too awkward to speak up, and the other considered himself to be a hunter supreme and threatened death at a moment's notice, but none of that seemed to wear down on the fox's shoulders. He stepped alongside the massive shape that was Beoh, grinning at the large man before he met the other faunus students within the cafeteria. It was impressive how quickly he ingratiated with them, learning and memorizing names with a moment's notice before leaving with an even bigger smile upon his face.- "You know, I think the rest of the year will be easy peasy. Sure, we had a bit of a rough start and all but now, now we're in the thick of it...ready to learn and ready to fight!" -He jumped up, giving a light punch to Beoh's shoulder in a friendly manner.- "So...what do you think our classes our going to be like? I think Professor Goodwitch is soooooo sexy. She has the look of a woman who could beat me and I'd still like it. You think the girls got to the dorm alright? I hope those jerkfaces didn't bother them any, I'd hate to ruin their confidence by beating the snot out of them. I think we went the wrong way too, maybe we should go back to the cafeteria." -The string of words flew out of the fox's mouth as he looked around, seemingly in awe of everything.-

Onyxia will quickly do a double take looking at her dress skirt that covers her tail. "Aww man, I was hoping to go incognito for atleast 2 weeks. How did you know I could a sworn only Tora was around when i took off my skirt cover and she likely wouldn't have told any one that wasn't a faunes." She will poutty for a few seconds as she goes over and grabs her blanket and a hand full of nails. She will then proceed to drive a little to deep the 8 3 inch nails through the blanket and ceiling using Rose as a hammer. She then will tuck the other side of the blanket under the bed making a den. She will then grab a duffle bag toss it through the top and jump in. "Yah i'd place bets Sorzar will try his best but if it doesn't meet Beoh's expectations of what an "Alpha" should do he will challenge him either usurping and expecting every one to fall in line or actually fighting him. Hopefully it will be in a safer environment. Either way it will be a great learning experience for everyone... and then for us two to pick up the pieces afterward. Those two are such polar opposites it is kinda funny." All the while you will hear various sounds of construction coming from inside the "Den" as she sets up inside putting in a line between bangs and drilling sounds.

Woops. I forgot you were hiding the tail... Since you rescued Tana from falling into the pit earlier, are you cool with her noticing then? If not we can ret-con that she knows.

"Sorry," Tana says, flushing a little. "It was when you grabbed me when I was falling. I saw when you set me down. I don't like, mind," she says awkwardly. "I won't uh, out you, if that's a thing?"

"Well, I don't know if it's gonna be as bad as all that," says Tana, neatly folding another set of T-shirts, serenely ignoring the construction noises settling in above her. "But the culture shock here's bad enough for me, and I'm only from Atlas. I figure most students here are tough enough to look out for themselves--even Sorzar. " She glances up as the bed gives another shake and subtly shakes her head at Onyxia's ingenuity.

Sorry about the late jumping in all. Neither thread was updating on my list of games.

"I would assume that we would be learning about the types of Grimm, how to hunt in an effective unit, and how to use our abilities effectively."

"I wish to apologize for my behavior, hunter-leader. You have not acted dishonorably, and I treated you with disrespect. I will accept any form of punishment you wish, except one that offers me direct harm."

In response to the question about Professor Goodwitch, Beoh will say "I think she is a powerful and dangerous hunter, and should be respected as such."

"Do humans really spend so much time thinking about breeding?"

"Dang it. Yah it moves around involuntarily when i do a lot of jumping and balancing even when it is under 2 layers of clothing. I can't restrict it to much or it gets really uncomfortable. She will carefully pull it out and stretch/pet/sooth it for a few seconds before leaving it out till she gets done with her "construction" up on her bunk but will come back out with it tucked. "I would appreciate it. I was home schooled so never had to deal with bullying though my parents taught me well on it in theory i haven't had to practice. And with our group being 3 faunus and an Atlas military girl in Vale... well i think i will try to vet a few people trying to be the Local normal girl. Get a bit of a baseline for how we get treated."

Conversation continues while she jumps up and starts the construction

"I certainly hope not either but to adjust a quote my parents liked "Prepare for the Beowolf alpha, hope for the deer." Just don't get your hopes up to high those deer can be skittish and rare." after a moment/ your continuation "Well don't worry i know all about Vale culture even been to the City of Vale a few times. I just want to casually hide my tail then in a few weeks maybe a month then just stop and see what happens. I won't be pointing it out or anything but i will get to see who treats me differently and who are good friends." She will emerge with her tail tucked and stretch out a bit "There all done now to finish out here" she will then go about unpacking the rest of her things continuing casual conversation with Tana.

"Hey, we're teammates now," Says Tana. "If anybody tries to mess with any of you, for any reason--" she glances at Onyxia's tail "--They've gotta deal with me. Bad luck aside, I'm big and I can throw my weight around."

"You sound like you're a lot better at social strategy than me," She continues in response to Onyxia's tail plan. "Let's just hope it doesn't turn out to be that big of a deal. But yeah, the Atlas Girl Scout in me says prepare for the worst." She tucks the last of her laundry into her dresser before falling sideways off her bunk in a well-practiced movement and landing in a push-up position. "Can't be too careful," she says, without breaking form. She'll chat back, banging out reps for another minute or two before switching to a painful looking set of situps.

At about this point Beoh and Sorzar arrive at the dorm, the door opening and revealing that the girls have already arrived and claimed one side of the room.

Sorzar smiled up at the big guy, nodding a little bit as he looked at the laughing students around them. Some Faunus, some Human, some fortunate, some not. When Beoh offered that he'd accept any punishment, Sorzar would spind around him and point a finger up towards his face.

"A punishment! Fine. I decree, as your team leader, that you are to do any social thing I tell you to. You are to try and enjoy it, so when you go back to your home, you can tell them of our strange, inane, useless, and wonderful ways and confuse them just as much as we confuse you!" He gave a solemn nod, narrowing his eyes as he speaks. "I expect total obedience of this demand."

The serious look would be immediately ruined by a friendly grin as he gives another friendly elbow nudge to the large man's thigh. "I didn't take any offense, Beoh. I know that things are...different...where you come from. Life is hard, it isn't full of laughing and it isn't a game. A lot of people don't know what it is like out there to struggle...how awful it can be." There was a sad tone in his words before he smiled again, nodding to the man. "You stay being you...minus the death threats of course. That ain't cool but they were jerkfaces, so I understand. I'll make sure to keep you all safe and to make us the best damn team that has ever graduated from Beacon Academy. Now...lets get to our dorms." He has a cheeky grin on his face as he walks, shrugging off the comment. "You should meet a Rabbit Faunus! Those guys...whooooo."

The door slams open and in comes Sorzar with a wide grin, arms spread out. "MY TEAM!" He shouts before rushing over and jumping onto Tana. "Holy crap guys! This is so exciting! I can't wait for our first tasks and get missions and to go to classes and check out Goodwitch's magnificent....strategies..." He says, wagging his eyebrows. "Oh! I got top bunk!" He climbs up the little ladder to the side, setting himself up on the top bunk. He would remember tha the left things outside and dragged out the heavy, worn dufflebag that contained everything he owned outside of the discus upon his back. "So? How is Team SBOT?"

"Evening hunt-mates." Beoh takes off his jacket and tosses it on the lower-level bunk, then slides his small duffel bag under the bed before removing his bracelet weapons and reverently beginning maintenance on them.

To Tana he adds, without looking up, "It is good to see that your wounds were not fatal. You fight well."

Everyone's scrolls will beep in unison, indicating a message has been received.

You are to report to classroom 14B at 9AM for prey-I mean Grimm studies. Profressor Port's message seems joking if not to the point.

Sorzar's scroll beeps and he opens it up, looking at the Professor's message and an almost fierce grin spreads across his face.

"Our first class! We get to show off how badass we are, the coolest kids on campus! It'll be the most excellent thing ever!"

Eagerly, he opens up his duffle bag and begins to hang things up. Everything he has seems to have a common theme; secondhand and hand-me-downs. Nothing looks new, some even look beat to hell, but he treats each one with love and careful consideration. Beside his bed, he puts up a series of pictures and it is easy to see Sorzar amidst his mother, father, and his siblings. All thirteen of them.

"Oh yes lets show them how "Badass" we are at studying Grimm." Onyxia will state with air quotes and no small amount of sarcasm.
"While understanding the Grimm are important I personally prefer a more hands on approach. Though I always did like the way my parents told me tales of their hunts on missions before they took up posts in the city. after a few seconds"I got it how about we break in the new team and room with some good stories! Spooky or stories of Grimm are great but we can also do some about ourselves to learn about each other."

"Stories?" Tana says blankly, considering. Her face lights up slightly in reflection. "...I threw a Beowolf off a cliff on a camping trip with my dad once."

Beoh returns wearing a different shirt and shorts, just in time to catch the tail end of Onyxia's question. He says with some pride "I have killed an ursa, 6 beowolves, and 2 griffons. I have assisted my hunt leader in killing 7 death stalkers, 4 beringol, and 2 boarbatusks. I have survived a battle with a goliath, which required me to activate my semblance, to my great shame."

"Getting good grades is still pretty badass..." Sorzar remarks, somewhat deflated though. He would listen in to the others as they told their stories and he would think back to the times that he had fought the Grimm. His stomach rolled slowly and he felt his appetite begin to wither away.

"I...I rather not talk about it." The little fox said, staring down at the floor from his top bunk. "I fought some before, tough fights here and there. Nothing special." He pulled his feet up and opened his scroll, looking for something else to focus on other than the topic at hand. He really didn't want to think about the first time he fought the Grimm, truly combated them.

The night winds down with little excitement, other than the strangeness of getting to know your dorm-mates a little bit better. Sleep still comes readily enough, and the group wakes up on time to get ready for their day. Tana, with her military history, gets up at the crack of dawn to do her regular thing, followed shortly by Beoh. Onyxia and Sorzar, however... need prodding to get them out of bed on time.

You find your way to Professor Port's classroom. This lecture hall-style room has concentric half circular tables that rise up the further back they go so all students can see the blackboard and teacher easily. Professor Ports voice proves to completely annihilate any concept of distance, as you notice most of the other students in the class skip the first row and sit back further where his boisterous voice could do less damage.

"Now then, students, welcome to Grimm studies!" he greets everyone cheerfully. "We're going to cover everything you could hope to know about the Grimm, from Boarbatusk to Griffons!"

He then goes into a long-winded story about the first time he encountered a Boarbatusk. This is going to be a loooong class...

Onixya will be diligently drawing notes... every weakness that is pointed out she will have a cartoonish drawing of the Grimm and of her hitting it in that location. Any strong points she will have a 2 cartoon pictures one where she was going wrong and the next of the Grim attacking her. if Professor Port goes into a diatribe she will go back and add more detail to her drawings while he goes over things that don't interest her. which on the first day i don't imagine she will get much detailing done she loves stories. There are so few words on her "notes" you would almost think she was illiterate.

If there are any questions or audience participation parts and she is not behind on her note taking she will give a three count that is barely audible to those around her before she very enthusiastically volunteers.

Tana fights the battle of a trained soldier experiencing death by lecture. One half of her is fighting with every trick she knows to stay awake, the other half is constantly trying to grab a second of sleep whenever she can. The end result is her half head-banging as she nods off, sits up straight, then nods off again...

Unfortunately for everyone, the rest of the morning's classes all end up the same as Professor Ports. However, after lunch, Glenda's 'combat training' class shows to be a promising diversion from your normal activities.

When you all enter the practice chamber, Glenda immediately points towards the doors to the side of the room with her wand.

"Please go to the locker room and get changed into your combat gear. " She instructs. "Your lockers have been assigned and the access codes are on your scrolls. Hurry up, we don't have forever and I want to see what you're all made of."

Onyxia will quite quickly run back to the locker room and start putting on her combat vest/corset and switching her dress skirt to cloak configuration before other students arrive or do so where they can't see. then put on some light but hard pads for her elbows and knees while putting on some lightly plated finger-less gloves. Around her wrists will sit bracers following similar designs as Rose and Gild that hold shotgun shells that have a quick release mechanism as if she reloads Rose and Gild straight from the bracers. After giving herself a quick once, twice, thrice over in the mirror she will quickly arrive back at class.

Sorzar sat in the front of the class and listened quite intensively. Certainly, a few of the other student giggled to themselves as they expected the Faunus to rear back as soon as the professor’s booming voice took over, but they would find that he was generally unfazed. What was one boisterous man compared to twelve little brothers and sisters in a small house? He took his notes avidly and carefully, writing in shorthand with a practiced movement. His brother had taught him quick tricks for taking and leaving notes and ensuring they’d be difficult to decipher without his direct help. If Tana caught sight of it, perhaps she’d even notice the slightly militaristic style to it.

After the class, Sorzar would say goodbye to the few friends he made that braved being close enough to the professor to feel their skin vibrate with each new sentence and catch up with his team. There was an energetic eagerness to him as they finally arrived at the class he had been waiting for; combat training.

Switching out of his uniform and back into the white and gold armored clothing he had arrived in, Sorzar stood at the designated marking and bounced back and forth upon his heel. A big, wide, cheeky grin was upon his face as he awaited their next instruction from the impressive teacher.

After everyone returns, Glynda will indicate the arena section. "Now this morning we had some interesting results from the other teams, and I hope to see similar levels of performance from you."

She paces in front of the groups assembled. It appears that several teams of students are here for 'training'.

"The first thing I'd like to see is two teams volunteer to have a spar. This way I can see up close what you're capable of, and it will help you learn how to work with your new team." she waves her baton, and a spotlight opens up, illuminating the central arena.

"So... who's first?" she asks. Before any of you have a chance to volunteer, a girl thrusts her hands up!

"Team PRST volunteers!" She shouts excitedly. All four of them are wearing skirts and long, wide-sleeved floral print tops (like kimonos, but definitely not cut like kimonos.) And they all appear to be carrying... Umbrellas?

Glynda doesn't react to her enthusiasm but marks something down on her board. "Very well, Parsley. Have your team move to the starting area."

She turns back to the rest. "Well?" she asks.

"We observe them right now, look for the ones we'd be most effective against. If they're strong, we distract the ones we can and focus down their weaker links. Separate them and eliminate them." He looks over his shoulder at the others, grinning almost cheekily at that before he laughed. "Man, Beoh, you must be rubbing off on me."

His eyes return to the other team now, as he tries to study them the best he can.

"That's just your body, remembering that you are a predator."

Beoh will scan the opposed team, looking for the strongest member.

The problem with their 'four girls with umbrellas' theme is that it's nearly impossible to determine any difference in their strength... which is to say none of them look particularly capable at all.

Just waiting to get a response from Onyxia and Tana.

Tana stands and winces a little, putting her hand back to her stomach before cracking her neck and flexing her wrists. "I'll try to dogpile on them with one of you. I'm still hurt, but I should be able to get some hits in if we work together." She gazes at the girls and umbrellas, sizing them up, and quietly concluding "Well, at least I'm bigger than they are."

"I was trying to find the strongest one to challenge, but none of them stand out. What are our orders, leader?"

Sorzar frowns, looking at the girls with his lips pressed tightly together. He looks back at Tana and watches the way that she winces with a concerned, unhappy look upon his face.

"Tana, I know you're a badass. You tried to tackle and throw a bear. You didn't though but that thought, that thought counts." He looks to Onyxia, grinning and giving a nod. "Onyxia, you keep Tana safe. Zero in on a target together and try to take them down as fast as you can."

Looking back towards Beoh, he gave a nod and sighed.

"Yeah, they didn't jump out to me either Beoh. I'm going to guess they have excellent coordination together and they work well. I'll try to get one distracted and opened up, you come in hard and take them out. We'll rinse and repeat, fall back if it looks like Tana and Onyxia are having issues."

He looks at his team, that big grin quickly returning as he nodded once more with confidence oozing from him.

"Sound good? You sure you can fight right now Tana? No shame in letting us know otherwise."

"Well if we are going to go after a single target it should probably be the leader. It is likely that one there that raised her hand. It isn't much but it is something to go on i haven't seen any of them fight before.

To you, it looks like the girl who raised her hand, Parsley, is indeed the leader. You remember seeing them at the ceremony. Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, and Thyme. Team PRST(Priest). They all hail from the same village in central Mistral, and they've likely known each other for years before coming to Beacon.

"This is going to be a test spar." Glenda says curtly. "You will fight until your aura is depleted, and then you're out. Last team standing wins the bout. And... remember, the headmaster is watching you. Try to behave accordingly."

She has you move to specific spots in the arena, where a field raises to separate the two groups. The four girls stroll casually to their place, their umbrellas open and over their shoulders.
Parsley is a ginger-haired girl with a boyish haircut and freckles with deep green eyes and an elfish chin. She's the shortest of the group, and carries the green umbrella to match her kimono. Rosemary is the tallest, with shoulder-length black hair and equally dark eyes. She carries the red umbrella/kimono set. Sage is middling in height, but has snow-white hair and eyebrows, with pale pink eyes. Her hair is long, but has two tufted white cat ears protruding. She has, of course, the white umbrella and kimono. Thyme has a shock of neon blue hair, brown eyes, and a silver nose stud. She wears a blue and black kimono and carries a similar umbrella.
Coyly, they close their umbrellas, give your group a bow, and then open them again. They take a stance, and as the countdown begins, they exchange a look, nod, and they collectively duck down, turning their umbrellas so they form a small, 4-woman shield wall, cutting off your view of them.

5...4...3...2...1... "Begin!" Glenda commands.

Okay, so normally this is a card draw, and I have a way of doing that. But I wanted to go over this with everyone first. What I do is use the RANDOM.ORG card shuffler and draw cards, then take a snapshot of it and give the cards in order to the people taking part in initiative. Typically I do enemies->players, is that okay with everyone?

Sorzar pulls out Mirage, giving the cord a sharp pull and bringing the sawblade-like weapon to life. He looked over to Beoh as the girls formed their defensive wall, giving him a nod.

"When this starts, get your hands ready to toss me up above their heads. I'll try to break the wall." Sorzar had the makings of a plan, hopefully enough of one to make it work.

Sounds good on the initiative. Discount my Semblance roll if I don't have time before combat.

Tana smiles lopsidedly at Sorzar. "I'm never going to live that down, am I?"

Tana crouches like a track runner as the field comes up, her Semblance slowly swimming into being as she cracks her neck. "So greenie?" She asks Onyxia. "I should still be able to cover some ground. She looks pretty small. I think I can pin her and you can wail on her."
