Awesome dot of dotness.
GM mechaPoet |
So, an email from the PbP Gameday organizers asked me to provide you with the answers to the following questions:
* The pacing/tempo of the PbP game the GM wishes to set.
I'd like to aim for one post a day, although obviously stuff happens (e.g. my own late start for this game), and I don't mind if the weekends are a little slower. So about 5 posts a week should be sufficient.
* How frequently you will post as the GM.
I will try to post as frequently as possible, at least once a day, and more if it's just to answer quick questions and such.
* How frequently the players are expected to post. (Including how long they will be given before being put in “Delay”.)
See above; also, I feel that four (4) days of missing posts will result in a "Delay."
* What the player inactivity level (in days) will be before the player is dropped/replaced. (As well as what level of credit a player will get should they quit/get dropped.)
Seven (7) days of inactivity will result in you being dropped or replaced. You must complete 2/3 of the scenario for XP, and you will receive an amount of gold equal to your participation.
* What process combat will follow. Including how initiative will work, posting expectation, how the GM prefers die rolls to work in combat, et cetera.
I will roll all initiatives, and they will go in the usual order. I will group PCs' and opponents' initiatives, so that you can all post as a group without worrying about having to wait for a PC with a higher initiative. I will still keep track of the order, for reasons such as buffing, stabilization rolls, etc.
* Where maps are hosted, and the expectations the GM has for their use.
I will be using Google Drive to host the maps, and they will be linked at the top of the game.
* Any other expectations and processes the GM wishes the players to follow.
Just let me know if you have any immediate action abilities that you think you'll be using, as the nature of PbP makes these things a little tougher to just stop the flow by saying something. Other than that, just follow the PFS and forum rules!

Another update:
Still waiting on Vogma the Battledancer, but I'll continue just a bit further in the conversation before we count her as Missing.
Also, as this scenario is designed as an introduction to the Pathfinder Society, are there any of you who are new to Pathfinder or to Pathfinder Society play?
Attilio Sennas |
I'm new-ish. I've played a couple modules, a couple PbP sessions, and around 8 roll20 sessions. I have played Confirmation twice before (and even survived the second time).
Culsar Rankil |
Nope, not new. Played this a few times also.
Aryn Seavon |
I've been around for half a year now, and played this scenario once before. That time one of the players (barbarian) killed the...
...with a single attack. It charged into the player's readied brace, and the player even got a critical hit.
GM mechaPoet |
I just realized that fully half of you are in the Cheliax faction.
As a staunch supporter of the Silver Crusade, I'm a little scared...
Attilio Sennas |
It's okay. Attilio's only in the Cheliax faction because he believes that totalitarianism is ultimately in humanity's best interest. He doesn't worship devils or anything.
Izotu Hyr |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
As Izotu explains the images for us, Vogma scratches her head.
Vogma, please don't make assumptions of my PC's actions unless I (or the GM) ask you to do so. I prefer you wait until I post what he is doing and respond accordingly.
GM mechaPoet |
So, Bobbette, I know you have 7 strength, but the river is literally one foot deep and moving, and I quote from the scenario PDF: "almost imperceptibly slowly." I think you'll be okay without rope. :)
GM mechaPoet |
I think we'll be okay. We have the rest of May and all of June. True, it's a bit slow, so you may not have time to play these particular characters in another Gameday scenario, but we should finish in the time allotted.
Also, I didn't realize how long it had been since Vogma posted, so I'll just have her delay.
Culsar Rankil |
I think we are doing more than fine on time as I recall this adventure.
Attilio Sennas |
You're not the only one here; but now that you mention it, it has been four days since Vogma's last post.
GM mechaPoet |
Yeah, 4 days is the point at which you go on delay. If we don't get a post from Vogma soon (in the next few hours while I take care of some work), I'll just have her delay and get the ball rolling again.
Aryn Seavon |
Still here, and not planning to leave!
I wonder where Vogma disappeared to...
Aryn Seavon |
Gm, please do. Or have you heard anything from Vogma?
Attilio Sennas |
Now MechaPoet's gone dark as well. He hasn't posted to the boards since Thursday.
Aryn Seavon |
I'm really hoping he'll return soon. It's over after this fight, and if possible I'd like to let Aryn play in another game during the Gameday.
Izotu Hyr |
Well, if we don't hear from GMm by the end of the week, I suppose we could go to the event organizers and see if they know someone that would run the last encounter for us.
GM mechaPoet |
Hey all, sorry for the disappearance. I've been busy transitioning to a new job, and my internet at home has been extremely uncooperative. It looks like things have calmed down a bit, though, so I'll definitely have something up for you here in just a sec.
Attilio Sennas |
Working fine for me Bobbette
GM mechaPoet |
Y'all still here? I realize I disappeared for a while, but I've freed myself up from a few PbP games to focus on getting through my Gameday games...
Are there still map troubles? I can switch it up and provide some alternate, non-google options.
Culsar Rankil |
I'm doing fine, at least I was. I posted my move the other day.
Attilio Sennas |
I'm just waiting for my turn as well.
GM mechaPoet |
I posted the Minotaur's move on Tuesday (he's taken out Janira).
Bobbette, Attilio, and Aryn are up. :3
GM mechaPoet |
Just wanted to check in about the maps: sometimes I have trouble accessing the Google Drawings that they're on, too, but it usually just takes some waiting out. Does anyone need alternate maps?
Aryn Seavon |
The maps work fine for me too.
GM mechaPoet |
So, once you all have defeated the minotaur, you can explore the rest of the cave with no "time limit," so to speak. There is one more unexplored area, but after the minotaur fight it becomes optional. We still have time for it (we've got another month before the PbP Gameday event ends), all I need is the volition. Would you all like me to run the last cave encounter?
