Two exilirs of Hiding and Peri still has the scroll of Disguise Self. I say one of the rogues quaffs one of the potions, grabs the paperwork and bolts for the holding cell. Peri might not need the scroll with her social abilities. Someone else could pound the other potion and book it toward the room as well.
"We could always use Ing...to create a diversion, you know. A pig squealing through the kitchen area might allow the rest of us to hurry right through the chaos. We could also grab so e cloaks from the cloak room I found earlier."

I took one of the potions at the begining, and I believe Barlor, (or someone else) took the other. They should last for 1 hour, I believe.
Barlor
|
"Long as ya think none of these stuffy types wuld take ta stabbin' at him, seems like it might work."
Barlor stops, thinking.
"But how'd we say he got out? We were supposed ta be locked in that room, I was thinkin'."

"Or we could attempt a crazy bluff, and have Peri try to convince the Ambassador that she was tired of waiting and was coming to look for them, if we were to get caught. I'm sure she could play "impetuous" very well."
Anyone with any thoughts?

Hoping the group would pipe up with ideas, the gnome was disappointed when none was forthcoming.
"Ok, here's what we are going to do. Laz, take all the evidence and drink of one of the Exilirs of hiding. You have to get back and keep the evidence safe. Beckett, you take the other one. Laz, if you can help get him back, that would be helpful. Those are two people we won't have to worry about.
"The rest of us are going to have to sneak back the way we came and then improvise."
Time's wasting, so we have to do something.

"It comes to me that perhaps the best way out for me (or perhaps for Haris instead) would be to climb out from the garden."
Thinking back to when we crossed the garden, how hard did the fence look to climb from the inside? (I'm presuming that it's designed to be hard to climb from the outside.)

Haris took one of the elixers of hiding. Beckett says he took the other. Beckett is also a couple minutes ahead of the group with half of the papers.
As the other emerge from the vents, Beckett times the crossing and moves to the servants hallway, then proceeds towards the prep room.

"Haris, let us both listen, and only cross when we agree that it is safe."
Perception check to time crossing: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
I'm afraid it may be up to Peri's eyelash-batting skills, unless Haris does a better job. Clearly László was concentrating on deciphering the prisoner record.
Barlor

Barlor, left without potions or scrolls to assist him, simply tries to get his timing down as well as Beckett did.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

"I'll cast the spell on myself and exit through the doors of Zarta's chamber if nobody objects. Perhaps I can find the Ambassador and tie him up with.... conversation. Besides, I wanted to attend the Gala anyhow. The rest of you need not get caught I can handle myself."
If no one objects, Peri will shift into her Vulpine form, cast read magic, then use the scroll of Disguise Self to make herself look like a portly Taldan man in a military uniform of moderate import.

Peri, keep in mind disguise self does not change the sounds you make. Peri will have a hard time pretending to be a man with her voice.
As the group decodes the receipt and Peri prepares the scroll, A message comes from Amara - I am distracting the ambassador for the moment. I can buy you maybe 20 minutes to return to the waiting room.
Barlor keeps watch through the door. He soon spots a break in traffic and waves everyone across to the servants hall.
Beckett enters the prep room and crosses towards the garden door. A few servants glance his way, but seem too busy to bother him.

How long should it take to get back to the ante room DM? If it is less than 20 minutes I'll disguise myself as a Cheliaxian woman acting as a tour guide for the group.

Like I said, I have already taken one of the potions and someone else took (and used) the other one early on. I'm also pretty far ahead of you guys with the info we needed to hand off. I also have one more trick to use as needs be. :)
Justicar Beckett des Laurant

I'm talking about the information we where sent here with as a front, which we are suppossed to hand off when Zarta's replacement meets us, not the other info we found. I asked for it before I left so I can get back and stall until the others make it back with all the other info we where sent in to sneak around and find.
But honestly if they are that close behind me, I'll just wait. Kind of defeats the purpose and will probably draw more attention.
Barlor
|
"Probably for the best. Give me a minute ta pack up a bit." Barlor does his best to look less like a pathfinder and more like... a pack-packing old dwarf wandering around at a dress party.
Can I try to like, roll disguise or something? Will that help anything?

Haris crosses the prep area unmolested by servants and slips into the garden. Darting among the bushes and landscaping, he expertly avoids detection. He also spies Beckett about halfway across, looking a little foolish under the curious gaze of two guests of the Gala.

Peri shifts into vulpine form then uses the scroll to look like a Cheliaxian noble woman, and acts as an escort until the group makes it back to the original room.

Peri assumes the role of a Chelaxian noble with confidence and swiftly leads the rest of the group through the prep area and into the garden. No one seems to take much interest, though one of the servants is heard whispering to another, "See? I told you that pig was probably a fiend in disguise. Pretty sure that dwarf isn't a dwarf as well. No one would let a scruffy-looking guest in looking like that. Eek! The pig just looked at me, let's get back to work!"
Beckett reaches the far side of the garden and enters the North Gallery just as his companions catch up. Joining them, Peri continues her charade down the hall. Servants part, bowing as the "noble lady" walks by.
Good job guys, you are about there. Peri, give me some icing on this Bluffcake please and I'll move on to the last part.
Peri's Bluff for the Prep Room: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

As the disguised Peri walks and leaves the prep room with the group in tow she tells them that the garden they are on route to houses plants that are known as "Dionaea muscipantis" from Goka and are very expensive.(Barlor knows this to be a lie).
She also makes it a point to tell the party that she has no idea who Zarta is, and that she has never heard of her, and that they should be getting back to the room whence they came.
The disguised Peri acts as though she does not even see any servants as they bow to her, and mentions that pigs are not fit for consumption, except bacon everyone loves bacon that and "Deviled Ham".

The group makes it to the waiting room with over 10 minutes to spare. Though the walk back took pace at little more than a casual stroll, your hearts race as though you had just run miles. You feel that your mission was a success. Now you only need await the ambassador to turn over the packet of information that the Society used to purchased your entry. Once that is done, you can depart.
You have little time to kill before the ambassador returns. Is there anything else that anyone needs to do? Yes or no, please give me a quick wrap up post and we will move to the end.

The gnome nervously glanced about the ballroom, watching the servants scurry about as Peri expertly played her role and guided them back to the safe room. "Overall, that went very well, but for the chair almost killing all of us," she whispered, twiddling her thumbs as they waited.
She sidled up to Barlor and filled him in on her side mission, and described how she planted the device right on the cloak of that no good Apsis agent. She was quite pleased with her first mission, barely even restraining herself, imagining the praise they would be getting from the members of the Grand Lodge. Yes, being a Pathfinder was going to be grand.
Barlor

Barlor sits down and huffs a heavy sigh of relief.
"Good job fightin' today, Ing. But maybe next time ya won't stand around when I'm gettin' strangled by furniture."
Suddenly, a thought strikes him and he sits up straight as a board.
"Hey, did any'n happen ta notice if we passed a privy on the way back here?"

The Varisian uses all of the time remaining to memorize the list he got before destroying it. If necessary, he'll jot down reminders to help him remember.
Not sure what to roll for that, if anything. If it's an INT roll, can he take ten or twenty on it?
Peri Tilki
|
Peri will reassume her human guise. She wonders to herself,
I wonder if that message got to it's recipient?
She then addresses the group.
"Well that was easy. Do you folks think I can convince the ambassador to let me attend the gala?"
László Kovács
|
László starts by seeing if the ink washes off with a little water. Even if that works, he'll look around the party. "I need to be destroying this list before we are escorted to the ambassador. The torches will not burn it, and though I have flint and steel that might be noticed. Can any of you help?"
