GM Ietsuna |

Your Licktoad Badge trials over Loptop lines you all up again. She moves down the line handing you the badges that you have earned.
Now that you have shown your metal, or lack thereof, to the tribe Loptop again approaches your group. Turing to Kettlehead, Cugick and Rempty she says You three, you can go into Tadpole Bog. The rest of you gotta go to sleep. Tomorrow you go to bog and get toad for licking
Littered about the village you can see several weapons, mostly quarterstaves and clubs. You can take a weapon if you like
The night passes and you wake the next morning as Loptop trips over you on her way to some task of other. She leads you to the edge of the village. You maybe think you be tough because you got out of your baby cage, whelps? Psht! You no be goblins. The only real goblins are Licktoads, and a Licktoad without a toad is just… lick. So. If you want be Licktoads, you need to catch a toad at Tadpole Bog and also not die. Then you take the toad to Cave of Darkfear and also not die. Then you show your toad to the Darkfear spirit, and maybe if you really are a goblin, then you also not die. Get toad. Show spirit. Kill anything that wants to stop you. Don’t die. That last part is very important.
Loptop drags a stick in the dirt making a crude map showing the location of Tadpole Bog and the Cave of Darkfear then kicks you until you leave.

Blake's Goblin |

"Ooo! Reta see something."
Reta hops over to the wobbly table and yanks the lid off of the box. She grabs the handle and hoists it defensively. "Good, good. Less bumps with this."
She then picks up her favorite club. "More bumps with this!"

![]() |

Mogmurch picks up a club and swings it a few times..and also drops it a few times showing his expertise in using the weapon.
Thinking about it he also picks up a few stones to use for throwing at something if needed.
Then he goes for a good night of rest and healing he bumps on his skull and the blisters on his tongue.
When Mogmurch wakes the next morning and is kicked out he decides to just go to the place on the map and see what is there.

TheSooperPoog |

Poog searches around for a dogslicer, the sacred weapon of his idol barghest. If he doesn't find one, he'll grab a club instead. All the more flammable.
After a restless night imagining the exciting trials that await him, Poog happily listens to Loptop's briefing and sets off on the way according to what he presumes the map says. Poog can't actually read maps.

Chuffy a la Voodoo |

If no one else does, Chuffy takes the darts, he also looks for a better blade. He's not in any shape or mood to scrap anyone for anything so he will take whatever is left. In the morning, healed from all his nonlethal damage, Chuffy finds whatever mirror or comparable reflective surface is available for some reassurance, "All other goblins just jealous of how ugly Chuffy is...Happy Beats or not!" Chuffy feels better after revisiting how "sexy" he is!

GM Ietsuna |

Poog searches around and eventually find an old discarded dogslicer. Chuffy, what type of blade did you look for? A dogslicer or a dagger or similar?
As you embark on your mission the horrible sunshine disappears as a beautiful drizzle sets in over the bog. The occasional lazy bubble breaks the surface of this shallow, stinky pond, and a haze of insects clouds the air in every direction. Only the occasional gurp-chirp of toadsong breaks through the drone of bugs.
The water is a mere foot deep and your small frames are not heavy enough to fall through the layer of peat that forms the “bottom” of the bog.
Ok, so it is time for you to each capture a licktoad of your own. Before we roll for them, there is a chance for you to improve your chances to capture one. Creativity will be rewarded. Examples may be climbing a tree to drop down on an unsuspecting amphibian, making toad calls or stealth. Other skills will be considered. Please make rolls and tell me how the skill with help you nab a toad. Catching a toad requires a DC15 Combat Maneuver Check. You gain a +2 bonus on this check by making use of your other skills. A successful DC12 skill check will give you the +2 bonus. Make sense?

Blake's Goblin |

Reta's first attempt to capture a toad results in thrashing club, churning water, a dead frog and half a dozen very startled fish.
"Hmm. This not toad. Not bumpy," Reta observes. "Also dead."
Concluding that brute force is not going to yield the intended results, she crouches down and begins to move slowly through the water. Her bulbous head and giant eyes gliding over the water. Occasional bubbles escape from her nose. Once spotting an appropriate toad, she creeps ever so slowly towards it and then, like a shark breaching the water, she tries to capture it in her over-sized mouth.

Blake's Goblin |

Grumbling and generating bubbles under the water for a moment, Reta climbs onto a tangle of roots and then spies a toad on a branch above her. She scurries up the tree and pounces on the toad like a cat.

GM Ietsuna |

There is no limit on the attempts here and no "damage" to failure. You are Licktoads and you must have toads. Make repeated rolls if you like.

Blake's Goblin |

Losing her balance, Reta falls off of the tree. Flapping her arms as face as she can, she tries to maneuver her fall. Roaring in a high-pitched goblin whelp voice as she falls, she crashes face and open mouthed onto an extremely surprised toad.

As Poog looks about, hunting for the perfect specimen of toad-kind he stumbles across a dogslicer poking up from the peat. A closer look at the area reveals two pickled goblin corpses, a second dogslicer, a javelin, a grappling hook, an unholy symbol of Zarongel, two wooden spoons, two dead moles and a jar of pickled fish heads.

I takes Mogmurch a lot of tries and at the ends he's panting and out of breath as his tongue sticks out of his mouth and he decides to take rest and sit down as he notices that he sat down on top of something squishy and slimy...Mogmurch finally managed to catch his toad!

GM Ietsuna |

Since you are from the Licktoad tribe, even if not fully confirmed members (yet) you may lick your toad if you so wish. Up to you, just let me know if you do
Your toads captured the sense of pride within you is swelling. You travel through the bog, heading toward the Cave of Darkfear. Ahead of you is a humorously shaped log. It looks ….. Rude. As you nudge each other and titter you see Kettlehead climb up and sit astride the log, his kettle still atop his football shaped head. His two sidekicks Culgick and Rempty step around the log and stand by as Kettlehead taunts you Stupid baby wannabe goblins he calls at you. You took toads from Kettlehead’s special pond, and now you have to pay my price. Give me all your toads! And say you be stupid
The map is up HERE Your portraits are done and colour coded. There is a picture of Kettlehead too for your interest. Culgick and Rempty are not as distinctive

Chuffy a la Voodoo |

Goblins are proficient with Dogslicers
I figured, but as some say "X" considers "Y weapon" as a martial weapon. I wanted to make sure...even though a dogslicer is already a martial weapon, I couldn't find any text to make me feel I was doing anything but assuming
If Chuffy didn't find a dogslicer before at the PERCEPTION check, he will gladly take one that was uncovered at the swamp, if it is available
Chuffy licks his toad, "Dat taste real good!"
Chuffy agrees with Reta on her assessment of the Kettlehead situation.

Annoyed at the inferior whelps' interference, Poog licks his toad and places it on his head. This is good place for toad. Perhaps one day Poog will have piece of art with toad on his head. He then rushes forward recklessly and mutters something that definitely isn't a prayer to Zarongel, unleashing a burst of flames at the whelps.
