Hello, everyone! Congratulations for being selected for this adventure. If you haven't already, please complete your character sheets using the character creation criteria below.
Character Creation
1) 20-Point Buy, 1st Level
2) Core races only.
3) Choose three traits. It is required that you pick one campaign trait.
4) No evil alignment.
5) Max HP at first level
6) Max starting gold
The following is "borrowed" from another GM on these boards, but I think it aligns pretty nicely with how we'll do things in this AP. Let me know if you have any questions about of it.
How We'll Play
I like to have fun and err on the side of fun over rules. This is usually in your favor, so if you show creativity, we may be able to avoid a dreaded dice roll (the dice roller on this board often hates my players).
I am going to be using the "Step Advancement System". However, in the first level, you won't be able to take the HP bonus as a step reward. That totally throws the balance off of the early game and you already have a large party as it is. Once you actually reach level 2, you make take any of the four rewards whenever you like.
I will roll initiative and use your passive perception for you when necessary. This speeds up the game considerably (so please include your initiative and perception scores high on your character sheet). If you wish to make an active perception check, please state so and roll the dice. If I don't want to use your roll (or if it's stupidly low) I will simply reject it. Your group initiative will be averaged and then you or the enemy will move first, depending upon whose is highest. This may inspire you to change feats or traits, as individual initiative is less important than in a normal game.
When doing a skill check, go ahead and state what skill you're using and roll the dice. Again, I might reject your roll if it is unnecessary, but it speeds thing up if I don't have to ask for it.
Let me know if you have any questions and when your character sheet is ready for review.
I'm looking forward to getting started!

Hello and "merci bien" for choosing me ;-)
I have to admit that although the Step advancement system outlined above is fairly straightforward, I am not sure that understand your point that we will not be able to take HP bonus as a reward on first level. Does it mean we take only B, C, D and then effectively become lvl .2, or that you will require us to first take B, C and D (in any order), prior to taking A as a fourth and final choice, finally becoming lvl. 2?
Also you mention HP Bonus only - do you mean both HP and BAB (as outlined in the rules), or specifically we omit just HP/HitDice, and take only BAB as A step?
And finally - since this is discussion I guess it is OK to discuss our character mechanics here, so I would like to ask other players for the following 2 advices:
- my skill selection is Acrobatics, Diplomacy, Bluff, Performance, Perception, Sleight of Hand and Spellcraft. As a half-elf I get a Skill focus feat, and I thought putting it towards Acrobatics. However, looking at the Player Guide/Handout, maybe Bluff or Diplomacy would come better, what do you think?
- Spell selection, at level 1 I took CLW and Grease. It was a tough choice, but somehow you can never get enough healing, while Grease is an example of a "valuable" spell, at least IMHO. Your thoughts?

I have the character data at home, currently at school rendering a final project, which will finish in 3+ hours
Vita has Skill focus(Survival) (a total of +10),
and weapon focus (Claws) (aiming to get feral combat)
I put her skill ranks in Perception, Stealth, Survival, and I can't recall the forth one.
I'm filling in the background and persona details

Timor, that's correct. Essentially, while you're level one, you can take your choice of B, C or D and then earn A when you become 2nd level. Then, the cycle starts over again, but this time, you have your choice of A-D as level rewards.
However, if that's unfair or confusing, we can scrap either the whole Step system, or I can just adjust the encounters accordingly. I'm open to suggestions.
Also, do any of you have problems (that you know of) accessing Dropbox links from your main computer? That's the tool I'll be using to share battle maps, handouts and other things like that.

For maps, I use Acrobat reader (extract), photoshop(edit, and fix up), the site photobucket (to host the maps), and then use the {url="image link"]Map link[/url] to show the map in my GM posts.
I also use Generic NPC aliases for NPCs as it adds to the immersion.

Yeah, I do something pretty similar, but use Maptools for smaller encounters and Dropbox instead of Photobucket.
And, I already have the generic NPCs created and ready to go!
As for the Step Advancing, let's just scrap it. If you all feel like you're progressing too slowly, let me know and we'll think about adding it.

All right, I've looked over the character sheets for Timor, Jindariel and Vita and I don't have any major questions. Coffee and Limey, let me know when you're ready for review.
Everyone can go and head over to the Gameplay Thread to start flexing your character's voice and personality.
I predict today will be a slow day at work, so I should have it ready in a few hours or sooner.
If you want to simply give us stuff based on the step system that would be cool. That way there will be no mistakes or misunderstandings and you (DM) can be fully confident the system is being used correctly.

Alright, she's decked out other than mundane gear.
I need opinions on something. I'm trying to decide between two traits.
the first gives a +2 to initiative.
The other is a -1 to Armor check penalty which will be useful for wearing a master work chain shirt without penalty.
Which do you think is better in the long run?

            look here
Leather Lamellar is not as good as a chain shirt, but it's better than studded leather in some areas
as for image, I'm can't decide between Miu from history's strongest disciple Kenichi, or Satellizer El Bridget from Freezing.

Too rich for me right now, but maybe down the line.

What is everyone's height, as this will help in visualising the characters in correct proportion to each other and the scene.
Timor is of medium height more or less, somewhere around 180cm (I really hope most of you are from parts of the world where metric system is predominant, not imperial ;-) )

            Heights: Tallest to shortest
VITA 6'3"
Timor 5'10"
Jindariel 5'6" (short for a pathfinder elf, though about right for a 3.5 elf)
-------------------------
Brehna: I think is between 5' to 5'6", given Brehna is a petite woman.
Pyrra: no idea

lol. It's hard for me to gauge. I'm 6'2'' tall IRL.
Well then how about 4'10'' for Brehna? Is that considered petite?
