Hi there! Welcome to the Pathfinder module Tears at Bitter Manor
I first want to get the house rules out of the way so we have a common understanding. I assume you will have read this.
Please take notice of the following:
•I handle initiative in posting order.
•I expect you to use the appropriate lines (Race, Classes / Levels and Gender) to give me vital information (AC, Saves etc) about your character. You can take a look at my aliases for a PFS example.
•This game does not have the highest priority, I have other games that will be updated more frequently and I have also responsibilities as a VO that will eat into my ability to update. Having said that: I started this game to finish it.
•For decision making purposes: when two characters agree on a course of action we will go with their decision.
•This game will be run in campaign mode and you will receive chronicles for playing. Levels 5-7 & 6-8. I will ask for PFS information when it is time to hand out chronicles.
•And most important: this is a game and I expect us all to have fun while playing! If something causes you not to have fun: please address it (either here or in a PM) and I will do my utmost to get you back to having fun again.

Welcome all! I have added a google slide show to my status bar and the campaign page. Please take a moment to fill your initiative and perception modifiers and also your standard place in the marching order.

GM G |
I am suffering from a severe headache, game will move forward as soon as I can.

GM G |
Guys, like I said I am recovering. But I am also going on holiday.... that means that we will pick up the action after I return on March 5th.

Raymond Jervail |

I'm excited to get this started back up when G returns from vacation tomorrow! FYI I'll be on a work trip from tomorrow through Friday, so I might post a little less than normal, but at least once a day.

Orin Tane |

I'm here and good to go!

GM G |
The way I read Hermean Potential is that you HAVE to use it on your next attack roll, saving throw, ability check, or skill check, you can't decide to keep the Hermean Potential for later.
Going forward that means that if you use it before combat has been initiated and you roll a perception check (or I make one for you), that would use the spell. Otherwise it would be used on initiative, but never on an attack as initiative always comes first.

Enrithel |

It's not clear to me what can be walked on and what can't in the map. I had thought I was cornered, but I see you moved me onto a brown thing now. Is there a way to determine from the map what can be walked on or will we need to ask each time?

Orin Tane |

G, agreed. However, the spell can not be used for initiative and there was no evidence that the spell has been used? (At my level it gives 2 "charges" one was used on the str check and the second on the attack roll? Did you use it on a behind the scenes perception check? If so, in the future, please let us know that the charge has been used as it may effect our choice of actions.

GM G |
@Enrithel: Those brown things are cabinets. There would be no room left to position anyone if I made those unpassable terrain. You can stand on each square in this room.
@Orin: no, I did not use it for earlier checks because I did not remember what it did. And for some reason I have it in my head that you are all lvl 4, so I did not think about the second use.
As for initiative: "At the start of a battle, each combatant makes an initiative check. An initiative check is a Dexterity check." Emphasis mine. Why wouldn't it be an ability check?

Orin Tane |

Yea, all these years and there are still nuggets to find. Thanks for the clarification.

Enrithel |

Good to know - every DM runs things a little differently!

GM G |
I probably won't have that much time to post during the Eastern weekend and you seem to be at a natural point to pauze the action for a bit. We will resume next week.

I'm in the process of buying a new house before I get kicked out of here at the beginning of may and buying a new car since someone decided they wanted to be where my car was, and insurance totaled it.
I check at least once a day, but energy levels are low and stress high, so my out of combat turns will probably be few.
/follow party

GM G |
I can imagine that will take a lot of energy Hurok. Take your time and focus on what is really important (the game is not!).

Enrithel |

I'm pretty sure Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs shows just how important PBP is.

When we searched the lab.
You examine the jars and flasks that were placed on top of the folding ladder and determine that these are twelve Burst jars
You lower the ladder and enter a large laboratory. Bright windows line the exterior of the room, illuminating row after row of shelves stocked with chemical reagents, minerals and metals, and creature parts. A low partition separates a small office in the eastern third of the lab, and two stone tables take up space in the western part of the room. It’s clear that multiple alchemists perform work here.
Searching the laboratory:
The lab contains every material component a practicing alchemist needs to mix most standard extracts, as well as two magical potions and 85 cp.
There are also several notes on ongoing experiments, which you do not entirely comprehend. They deal with healing extracts, how several materials react to acid, bottled lightning and liquid ice and so on.
I didn't see anyone ID them, but could have missed something.

Hurok |

Just as a note, I have Furious Focus which is why I roll the first power attack at +16. After that (including AoOs such as last turn), it would be at +14 due to Furious Focus wearing off.
I don't think this changes what happened on the previous turn, but it may influence in the future so I wanted to state it.

GM G |
Sorry folks, work hit me hard. Tomorrow is a national holiday over here and it might be that I won’t have time in the weekend either.
And to make matters worse I will also be out of internet for a few days between May 2nd and May 6th because of a short holiday. We will return to a normal schedule then.

Orin Tane |

No problem. Life happens, its all good.

Enrithel |

Anarchy in the PBP! Loot all the NPCs!

GM G |
Are you telling me that running a forum play by post ISN'T how you make a living? :-P
Sorry guys, all that money Tyler collected was not for me...

Orin Tane |

Good to go whenever you are G. Take your time, however, as needed.

GM G |
I am back and updating all my games. As you know you are the slow game. That means I will hopefully get to you by the end of this week (gamenight tomorrow)

Raymond Jervail |

So, my flight for Seattle leaves tomorrow at 1:30 PM. I expect I'll make one more major update to all my games tomorrow morning, and then will be on and off at best through Monday night. PAIZOCON!!!

GM G |
I am on a sailing trip this weekend, and won't be able to update. Back on Sunday.

GM G |
I will be offline this weekend because I am enjoying a city trip with my wife. I will be back on Monday.

GM G |
My online presence will be less than usual for the next two weeks due to a family vacation. I will try to keep you guys moving, but we will probably slow down a bit.
