Torith Torson
Onward to more nasty things to kill!
Thozar Earthchanter
For Trunau! If it is all large, I can't think of anything that would be useful for us to have.
GM Fuzzfoot
Yah - it was weird. The module specifically said "pick weapons and armor of interest to the party" - but large seems sort of a waste unless you regularly are enlarging yourselves... still, they can be sold for cash!
Ledges and stairs are carved into the stone walls of this wide-open, high-ceilinged natural cavern. Embedded in a fifteen-foot-tall spire of centuries-old bones stands the skeleton of a massive armored warrior. Though its flesh has long since rotted off its frame, the skeleton still stands proud and regal amid the trappings of battle and mounds of gleaming treasure. The skeleton’s battered halfplate and scarred helmet hint at its many battles, and the warlord’s hands are clenched around a massive stone hammer. Beneath the helmet, a thick, round rock has been embedded in one of the skeleton’s otherwise empty eye sockets.
The main floor in this cavern is level with that in the area you came from. The ledges surrounding the room are 10 feet above the floor.
Currently searching for something on the southeast ledge is a half-orc flanked by two dire wolves.
Thozar Earthchanter
"Dwarves, how should we take this orc down? Start from a distance or charge the poor bastard?" Thozar asks, glaring at the trio.
Ulark Twiceforged
Not sure there's a choice: fast as I can go that's a lot of open ground clear o' cover. Ulark whispers back. But I've little for range and luckily the dogs won't either.
The warrior looks nervously at the massive set of bones jutting out from the rock. Long as that thing don't come up and moving too, I think we can take them.
Thuradin Drackenforge
Thuradin chugs along after Belir as fast as his stumpy dwarven legs will carry him.
Thuradin will also run into the other chamber.
GM Fuzzfoot
Belir: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Gundar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Kragmyr: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Torith: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Half-orc: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Dire wolves: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Hearing you enter, the half-orc motions for the dire wolves to meet you, and grabs something from his belt that he drinks quickly.
Round 1: (Bold may act)
Half-orc/Red
Thozar: (barkskin active)
Gundar: (1 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Belir: ran (Ac 26, 30 vs giant)

Kragmyr: (1 str dmg)
Thuradin: (3 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Gundar Forgelight
Know(Nature): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
How loyal are Dire Wolves compared to normal wolves?
Gundar hefts his axe once more and follows his fellows into battle. Much as he would have preferred to prevent further bloodshed, the day's slaughter had gone on too long to stop now.
Torith Torson
Torith keeps pace with his fellow Dwarves as they try to get nearer to the half orc intruder.
I moved Torith up to near Gundar as i'm assuming we'd all stick together.
Thozar Earthchanter
Caught of guard by his allies' expediency, Thozar moves to close the gap as well. By the Dwarven gods, I pray this is the last fight of the day. I fear our zeal will outstrip our health at this rate!

Ulark Twiceforged
Ulark takes a deep breath, then sprints as fast as his body can take him, skidding past Belir as he comes to rest near the macabre stone spire.
Run! AC 15 this round
Thuradin Drackenforge
Thuradin will swift cast Fervor upon himself and then take a double move up to Belir
Fervor: 1d6 ⇒ 5
GM Fuzzfoot
The orc drinks another vial of something.
Round 2: (Bold may act)
Half-orc/Red
Thozar: (barkskin active)
Gundar: (1 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Belir: ran (Ac 26, 30 vs giant)
Torith:

Ulark: (0 dmg)

Belir
|
Belir circles around the wolf, swinging his axe at it's legs. Provoke from movement.
Mwk Dwarven Waraxe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Torith Torson
Torith walks up nearer to the big pile of bones while getting a clearer view of the half orc. Seeing them drinking some kind of potions, he decides to start to harry them from afar.
"I'll try to keep the toothy one busy while you give those pups a good talking to."
He strains himself slightly as he concentrates to fling a blast of earth at the distant half orc. Taking 1 burn for extended range.
earth blast, overflow: 1d10 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8
earth blast damage, overflow: 2d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (6, 4) + 5 + 2 = 17
Thozar Earthchanter
"Meet the earth, orcish wolf!" Thozar shouts, striking the ground with his quarterstaff. A seismic tremor reverberates through the ground and collides with the beast.
________
Gundar Forgelight
Gundar moves up to flank the wolf Belir is facing, giving the beast a bit more to think about.
GM Fuzzfoot
Thozar manages to trip the great wolf (barely), and Torith cuts him on his side as he moves around him. The wolf nips at him from the prone position, but fails to get his teeth on flesh.
AoO, prove: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 4 = 20
Torith is unable to hit the distant orc.
The blue wolf stands up (provoking from Gundar, Ulark and Belir). The green wolf moves to flank Belir (provoking from Belir and Ulark).
Blue vs Belir: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 2 = 21
Green vs Belir: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 2 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Trip: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Green bites Belir and drags him to the ground. Assuming AoOs don't drop these two. Also assuming AC in tagline is correct.
Round 2: (Bold may act)
Half-orc/Red
Thozar: (barkskin active)
Gundar: (1 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Belir: 14 dmg;
Torith:
Dire Wolves: Green, Blue (14 dmg, prone)
Ulark: (0 dmg)
Kragmyr: (1 str dmg)
Thuradin: (3 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Ulark Twiceforged
AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 for damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Careful Belir! Ulark yells as his own blow on the nearest wolf is matched by a canine dragging down the dwarf. Armor's not impenetrable yet!
Maneuvering around the entombed skeleton, the warrior then strikes out again at the wounded beast
Moving, then attacking blue (assuming blue still up). If it's down from my/my and Belir's AoO, will strike green (and take 2 off the attack roll due to not flanking).
Attack, PA, FF: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 = 20 for damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Thuradin Drackenforge
BTW, GM Fuzzfoot, the Fervor Thuradin cast last round should remove any remaining damage on Thuradin.
Thuradin grabs his axe with both hands as he moves up to confront the wolf with the greenish tint as it too moves up on Belir. With all his might behind the swing he brings the blade down on the wolf's skull.
Attack roll (power attack): 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 - 1 = 21
Damage (power attack, two handed): 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Belir
|
AC is correct in tagline.
Before he is dragged to the ground, Belir goes down fighting as he swings his axe in a wide arc.
AoO vs Blue wolf: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Can only do 1 AoO so far.
GM Fuzzfoot
Because the blue wolf was still prone at the time he swung, Belir manages to strike him! With Ulark's help, the beast is killed as it tries to stand.
(So technically, the blue wolf did not attack Belir, although he missed anyway). I am still going to let green get his flanking, though, since this was all fairly simultaneously, so previous results stand.
Thuradin and Ulark then work together to start cutting the other wolf.
Kragmyr may not yet be back, an he is so far back, I will assume he spends this round with a double move.
The skinny half-orc throws a bomb from a surprising distance, targeting Thozar.
Ranged Touch Attack, 2nd range incrememnt: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 1 - 4 = 26
Crit Confirm?: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 1 - 4 = 7 Wow.
Fire Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 1) + 3 = 10 and you catch on fire.
The explosion also splashes on Torith.
Fire Damage: 5 = 5 You are not caught on fire, though.
Round 3: (Bold may act)
Half-orc/Red
Thozar: 10 dmg, on fire (barkskin active)
Gundar: (1 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Belir: 14 dmg; (prone)
Torith: 5 dmg
Dire Wolves: Green (28 dmg)
Ulark: (0 dmg)
Kragmyr: (1 str dmg)
Thuradin: (1 str dmg)
Thozar Earthchanter
Cheering in triumph as the wolf is brought to its knees and struck down, Thozar looks up just in time to see the bomb hurtling towards him.
S%@!.
It collides straight into his chest, causing a conflagration to form across his body. Drawing strength from the earth, he forces water to flow from his hands and extinguish the flames in a brief deluge. Dripping he shouts back at the orc. "IT'LL TAKE MORE THAN THAT TO DOWN A DWARF!"
________
Concentration (Create Water, Place Magic) vs Continuous Damage, DC ??: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23 DC is equal to 10+Spell Level+1/2 the continuous damage. Even if I take 6 damage, the highest DC is 13. Correct?
Belir
|
"Damn.." Belir has no means to heal himself but quickly hops back to his feet. Provoke AoO from wolf for standing. He brings his axe up into it's jaw.
Mwk Dwarven Waraxe vs Blue wolf: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
"Torith. Keep that orc busy!"
Seeing the fire. Belir's shield activates, creating an invisible barrier, protecting him.
Swift action to activate Energy Shield. protection from fire for 15 points of damage. Lasts 1 minute
Torith Torson
"That's the plan!" shouts Torith as he focuses his power to extend the range on his shot again.
earth blast, overflow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 = 11
earth blast damage, overflow: 2d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6) + 5 + 2 = 16
I just noticed that i accidentally used a d10 to make my previous attack. Well that was stupid of me! lol
Gundar Forgelight
Gundar continues his charge into the other wolf as the first is put down.
"Go on'an join yer packmate, beastie," he says, not finding it within himself to conjure up battle-rage against an animal.
Attack v Green Wolf: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
GM Fuzzfoot
Thozar immediately douses himself (no additional damage, then), and curses at the distant orc.
Gundar slices the beast again, but the snarling creature means to fight to the end.
Torith misses the orc again, but it is keeping some pressure on.
Belir stands up, taking a bite from the remaining wolf, but his armor is more than enough protection. The wolf has no similar protection from Belir's back swing, however, cutting his lower jaw clean off. The wolf drops from his injuries.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 = 15
Round 3: (Bold may act)
Half-orc/Red
Thozar: 10 dmg, on fire (barkskin active)
Gundar: (1 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Belir: 14 dmg; (Energy Shield. protection from fire for 15 points of damage. Lasts 1 minute)
Torith: 5 dmg
Ulark: (0 dmg)
Kragmyr: (1 str dmg)
Thuradin: (1 str dmg)
Ulark Twiceforged
All right Belir? Ulark says even as he takes off towards the stairs. Eyeing the mad bomber above, he calls back towards the others.
Stay spread, those flames look hot as the Forge!
Double move
Thuradin Drackenforge
Thuradin will step around the wolves corpse and approach Belir. With a whispered prayer to Torag he summons healing energy as he touches his comrade.
CureLight Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
GM Fuzzfoot
The orc throws a bomb at Ulark who is moving towards him.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 3 = 10
Reflex DC 15 or catch fire.
Round 4: (Bold may act)
Half-orc/Red
Thozar: 10 dmg, on fire (barkskin active)
Gundar: (1 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Belir: 9 dmg; (Energy Shield. protection from fire for 15 points of damage. Lasts 1 minute)
Torith: 5 dmg
Ulark: (10 dmg)
Kragmyr: (1 str dmg)
Thuradin: (1 str dmg)
Thuradin Drackenforge
Thuradin runs around the skeleton to face the half orc.
Double move to get there.
Thozar Earthchanter
Thozar runs for the cliff and lobs a blob of acid at the orc. "Your time is short, orc!"
________
Acid Dart vs Red (Touch): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Just for the record, I'm not on fire anymore.
Ulark Twiceforged
Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Engulfed in falmes, Ulark conitnues to move undaunted up the stairs and towards the orc bomber. He lays a nahd on himself one last time to mend some of his wound as he yells out That's all you got, best pray to your gods they're ready for you!
Double move, swift Lay on Hands (last one)
LoH: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Torith Torson
"That's it lads. His wolfy friends are down now we've got him!"
Torith steps a little nearer while concentrating again to throw his rocky projectile as far as he can. 5ft step, move action to gather power for extended range.
earth blast, overflow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 1 = 25
earth blast damage, overflow: 2d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 5 + 2 = 15
GM Fuzzfoot
@Kragmyr - I think you are attacking an inanimate object...The skeleton in the center is large, but not animated. The only foe in sight is the red orc. You can redefine your actions.
Thozar throws acid at the orc, who dodges it. Torith has more success, smacking him pretty good.
Round 4: (Bold may act)
Half-orc/Red (15 dmg)
Thozar: 10 dmg, on fire (barkskin active)
Gundar: (1 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Belir: 9 dmg; (Energy Shield. protection from fire for 15 points of damage. Lasts 1 minute)
Torith: 5 dmg
Ulark: (7 dmg)
Kragmyr: (1 str dmg)
Thuradin: (1 str dmg)
Gundar Forgelight
With two of the dwarves already moving trap the orc where it stood, Gundar opts to send a few bolts its way.
Crossbow Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Kragmyr Grudgekeeper
@Kragmyr - I think you are attacking an inanimate object...The skeleton in the center is large, but not animated. The only foe in sight is the red orc. You can redefine your actions.
Kragmry is standing next to the skeleton in the middle. He is 45ft away from the orc in red. He can charge, stopping within range for his reach weapon to hit the orc. I'll keep the action if allowed. Otherwise, he has double moved.
GM Fuzzfoot
OK, so that is fine - I didn't understand your target. He is 10 feet above you, but a reach weapon should cut it, I think.
Gundar's bolt misses the orc, and Kragmyr charges but the weapon is deflected.
The orc steps back, and throws a bomb at Kragmyr.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12
Kragmyr and Thuradin make reflex saves, dc 15, or catch on fire.
Round 5: (Bold may act)
Half-orc/Red (15 dmg)
Thozar: 10 dmg, on fire (barkskin active)
Gundar: (1 dmg, 1 str dmg)
Belir: 9 dmg; (Energy Shield. protection from fire for 15 points of damage. Lasts 1 minute)
Torith: 5 dmg
Ulark: (7 dmg)
Kragmyr: (12 dmg, 1 str dmg, possibly on fire)
Thuradin: (1 str dmg, possibly on fire)
Belir
|
Belir continues to move in on the orc. His axe drawn and ready to strike.
Double Move
"Yer trapped! lay down yer weapons greenskin. 'Tis over..."
Thozar Earthchanter
"Be as still as you can Kragmyr, the worst has passed!" Thozar shouts as he sprays the flaming dwarf with water. Looking over his companions, he sees many with wounds. I've got nothing left to give from the earth, this'll have to do... He draws a wand and steps forward. Hang in there brothers!
________
Create Water on Kragmyr to put out his fire. Thuradin, if you are on fire, I'll get you next! Did anyone realize that create water is a short range spell? I always thought it was touch!
Torith Torson
You can also use create water to make rain over a larger area, which is pretty awesome when dealing with large fires.
Torith steps nearer and starts to gather up some more rock. He gets ready to hurl it at the half-orc if he continues to fight.
earth blast damage, overflow: 2d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + 5 + 2 = 10
