Ulark Twiceforged |

Agree with being fine off-screening the orc/giant/ogre alliance collapsing.
I’m also traveling for the next week or so (visiting Ireland with family) so while trying to post and keep up, travel and WiFi will make it a bit more erratic. It’ll also mean I likely won’t be able to fully level up Ulark until next Wed at the earliest.

Thozar Earthchanter |

I'm cool with it too! We seem to have grabbed all the big shinies and we can let them run themselves into the ground. Win-Win! I'll level up and get it posted tomorrow (out of time right now).

GM Fuzzfoot |

OK - take a few days to level. I will wade through to see what additional treasure you should have gathered, and a few important notes.

Thozar Earthchanter |

BAB +1
Spells +1 lvl 1, +1 lvl 4
Greater Spell Focus (Transmutation)
7 Skill Ranks
+8 HP

GM Fuzzfoot |

Is everyone doing ok with Level 7? Any questions?
Remember to update your status bar as well - I refer to this more often than your profile...
Also, I have updated the loot list - mark anything you want to keep with your name, let me know if you want something split, and we can see what cash you have to spend. You can certainly stop in Trunau or other locations on your way.
Nargrym Steelhand’s tomb lies approximately 90 miles southwest of Trunau, a journey of just over a week on foot through the mountains.

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

Exciting! Ingrahild’s brother is alive and their quest continues. Will he be joining us an NPC?
Also no gear from there needed for me

Thozar Earthchanter |

Level 7 is complete! No questions here.
Status bar is updated.
Thanks for doing that GM! I've marked some things with my name that I hadn't previously, but otherwise didn't claim any of the new stuff. Is nobody using that super cool hammer of giant death or whatever we have lying around? I won't be, but just pointing out that it is still in our inventory.
Thozar will insist that we stop by Trunau. One, to buy a rod of reach, but, two, and more importantly, to let them know a giant attack isn't about to show up on their doorstep! For now, at least.

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

Nobody is using the hammer? That should be addressed. Not by me. An archer doesn’t need a hammer.
Also...shopping!

Gundar Forgelight |

Catching up from a busy weekend, I'll finish my level-up today. No gear that I would want to claim.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Anyone else want to claim? Or should I sell it off?

![]() |

Apologies, the past 3 days have been spent moving places. I am all leveled up, just have to copy it over here. I was waiting for Belir to be last on the gear list but it looks like everyone went over it.
If noone wants anyone of the equipment Belir will take:
Though if someone wants any of that please take it.
We should also keep the wand of remove curse and all of the healing and other useful potions as group items, if need to Belir will carry them.

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

Go for it! Sounds great to me.
I’m just hoping that Ingrahild’s ancestor has some kind of relic suitable for her.

Ulark Twiceforged |

At the risk of gobbling up even more, Ulark wouldn't mind holding onto Gorum's Thorn and the +1 buckler.
Also now back home! And should have Ulark's profile updated by tomorrow. Will be continuing with another level in paladin for now.

GM Fuzzfoot |

OK, I have sold off most of the rest. A few unclaimed items I thought you might want to keep, or at least wanted to make sure no one wanted since you only get 1/2 price for selling.
2 potion of aid
2 potion of haste
Brinya's Love: +1 dagger
handaxe +2
Headband of alluring charisma +2
lesser extend metamagic rod
Longspear +1
I also left these as unclaimed party items:
potion of cure light wounds
potion of cure moderate wounds
Potion of cure moderate wounds (4)
potions of cure light wounds (2)
potions of cure light wounds (5)
Wand of remove curse (9 charges)

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

Thank you for the work Fuzz. It’s appreciated! I agree on keeping the healing. As for the top list, there is nothing I need.

Thozar Earthchanter |

If the extend rod is from the hag, I've been using it! Sorry, I thought I marked that on the sheet as mine already. The healing stuff would be good to have around for sure.

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

So I’m thinking that once we get to town I’ll need to make my bow Giant-Bane. But if we have enough gold what would be another good bane to have? Undead? Orc? Maybe undead as I have orc bane arrows.

Thozar Earthchanter |

I'd take giant and orc bane. I think we have the muscle to take down any undead pretty well, but giants AND orcs are notorious for being hella tanky (high con and ferocity are shockingly effective!). To me, the extra damage would go further on them than on the occasional undead foe.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Orc bane would be a waste. I can't say you won't see another orc, But I don't see any in Book 3. Giant will do you well, of course.

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

Read over gameplay post. So this hand lets you use the weapons of giants against them? As in, using large sized weapons?
If so...a large orc hornbow would do 3d6 damage. Throw on giant-bane and that is 5d6 damage per Arrow. It’d be like firing a ballista! Or a large composite bow for 4d6 and better range.
Would dragon bane be worth it? I could see such a bow as being a legendary weapon designed to take down the largest of threats

Thozar Earthchanter |

GM, have you had the time to figure out what the split is on gold?

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

Sorry to ask questions like this, but does this hand let you use large weapons? Because if so I’ll need to buy this:
https://www.aonprd.com/MagicWeaponsDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Resizing
I think that enchantment will let my bow become large size when appropriate, but still stay medium until then.
Figure:
(1) Resizing (4K)
(2) Giant Bane (6k)
(3) Dragon Bane (10k)
At that point it will be a bow which can take down the largest of enemies

Gundar Forgelight |

No more orcs to kill!? Gundar haz a sad.

GM Fuzzfoot |

You don't know for sure what this hand does, but the rumor is that anyone using the hand can do as you are thinking. Of course, the question is... how do you use the hand?

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

I see...hmm....
So, how much gold do we have to play with? Excited to get started on this part of the adventure!

GM Fuzzfoot |

I am not sure I have Ingrahilde's items up to date - I saw she had some arrows that I had marked as sold, so I fixed that. Also sold off Kragmyr's gear that it didn't look like anyone kept.
So it looks like you have 41k available to the party for purchases. That's about 8000 gold each, unless you want to split it otherwise based on what was kept.

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

8k! Thank you for doing all the math. I know how rough that can be.
Ok. Spending 6k on making my bow Giant Bane. Saving 2k for the size enchantment just Incase the hand does what it seems like it does and we can get it working.
Test Shot
Hit: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Damage: 1d8 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (7) + (5, 6) + 13 = 31
Flurry: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (4) + (6, 6) + 13 = 29
Ki: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (6) + (5, 1) + 13 = 25
Iterative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (3) + (2, 6) + 13 = 24

GM Fuzzfoot |

Ingra - something to consider, the bow resizes to fit the holder. This does not make it large just because you want to use a large weapon - you would need to grow large yourself.
However, I will let you in a little secret - there may be something ahead that can help you out with all of the giant gear you will be acquiring...

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

<Happiness>
Don’t have quite enough gold for that enchantment. About 1.5k down. But it is the very next thing I’ll be getting.

Thozar Earthchanter |

Thanks for calculating it all out!
Is the Character Summary up to date? I don't think we were able to spread any of the gold around to compensate for a lack of wealth in some characters when we turned 6th level.
IIRC, the plan for loot splitting was to check in every even level and give extra gold to people below the recommended WBL. Is that still what people want to do?

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

WBL 7: 23,500 average
WBL 6: 16,000
* Kragmyr’s wayfinder and ioun stone (paid for with WBL starting gold, +1 Initiative and +2 Str)
- 700 gold
* Adaptive Giant Bane Longbow +1
- 9400
* 60 arrows
* 20 durable cold iron arrows
* 20 durable silver blunt arrows
* Cold Iron Dwarven Waraxe
- All of that? About 100?
* Bracers of Armor +1
- 1000 gold
* Circlet of Wisdom +2
- 4000 gold
* Fighter’s Kit
* 2587 gold
All together? About 17k.
Seems about right for hitting lvl7 recently.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Keep in mind, there are a few items that will skew this. Agrimmosh, the Hammer of Unmaking, is an artifact with no amount attached, but I suspect could be worth well over 17k by itself.
Remember, if you take a share (looks like Ingrahilde took 8000), then I need to update the Cash and Outlays.

Ingrahild Nargrymkin |

Yeah...given all of the artifacts, I don’t see how we can WBL this. :p

Thozar Earthchanter |

Correct, we weren’t going to deny anyone money, just give extra money to the people who were below WBL. Again, if we don’t want to do this anymore, then whatever. Our intent wasn’t to punish Ulark and Belir for taking items that work for them, but to give a little extra gold to people who haven’t had anything handed to them.
I’ll see if I can pull up the posts where we talked about this before.
EDIT: Pages 6 and 7 of our discussion tab have the relevant posts mentioned above.

Ulark Twiceforged |

Yeah, Ulark is right now benefiting from a solid armor and a pretty nice blade. Would not mind a Belt of Str if one is available in town, but beyond that is absolutely fine having a bit more cash roll towards the others.

Gundar Forgelight |

Yikes, I took a bad few days to get sick on! Catching up with the happenings now.

Thozar Earthchanter |

I will be on vacation with limited to no internet access. I'll post if I can, but otherwise will need to be botted. Regular posting will resume on July 2nd.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Where we at, folks? Any more decisions on purchases?

Gundar Forgelight |

Negatory here, Gundar is ready to move on!

GM Fuzzfoot |

OK - I added Ingrahilde's purchases to the sheet. Remember - my sheet is meant to reflect all of the party's gear (collected or purchased), so please take a moment to compare your sheets to the loot sheet and let me know of any differences.
If I have it right, you still have 25000 to spend as a group. Thozar (who is out on vacation right now) is the lowest on the loot meter. Belir looks low, but Agrimosh isn't calculated in...
Meanwhile, we will go ahead and get started.

Thozar Earthchanter |

With ~8k to spend each, I'll be grabbing a lesser metamagic rod of reach and a headband of +2 wisdom.
EDIT: Can druids speak while wildshaped as an elemental?

Thozar Earthchanter |

Another question! GM, are you still reporting this game for PFS credit?

GM Fuzzfoot |

Yes- I think you can speak in elemental form.
And yes, I can report PFS. I think I gave out chronicles for book 1 but may not have reported it yet. I will check, but happy to do book 2 chronicles as well.

Thozar Earthchanter |

Hooray! :D Thanks GM!

GM Fuzzfoot |

This is what I had for the first chronicles:
Belir: Name: Tyranius PFS#: 95737-26 Character name: Duskskipper Deepcroak Faction: Dark Archive
Ingrahilde/Kragmyr: PFS: 209149-1
Ulark: 127063-22
Thozar: 74244-14 Norril Tyndall Dark Archive
Any changes?

Thozar Earthchanter |

No changes here either!

Thozar Earthchanter |

GM, is the compound made of metal? I didn't realize that the shaft was vertical (so there isn't really a ceiling), but I can just stay in the walls as we descend, right?

GM Fuzzfoot |

The book says the obelisk is made of granite, so we can probably assume the shaft is make of rock as well.
So I assume earth glide is not like walking because you would just sink due to gravity, right? So do we think it works like flying, or like swimming??
That's just for philosophical debate - yes, you can move through the shaft sides as you like.
