Perhaps engineering if we attach you to the ballista bolt? ;)

Nobody tosses a dwarf, but launching their asses from siege machines is highly encouraged.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Ha! Yes, it is.
No, I think you can jump in and treat the water just as difficult terrain.
Torith Torson |
I think with enough rocks in your pockets Torith would totally be able to chuck an ally towards our enemies! ;)
GM Fuzzfoot |
I am going to be without a computer for the rest of today and tomorrow, but should be back in the game on Sunday.
Kragmyr Grudgekeeper |
Loot
potions of cure light wounds (2)
fire ward gel
mwk chain shirt
falchion
javelins (4)
belt of incredible dexterity +2
a letter from Melira, the saboteur on the boat (see Handout #1 in Notes, and text here as well)
21 gp
----
Does anyone really want that belt of dexterity? If not, I'd gladly take it. Push my dex up to 16: the max dex bonus when using a breastplate.
Plus it'd push my stats up to Str (16) Dex (16) Con (16) Int (16), which I think would be pretty cool. :)
Torith Torson |
oooh oooh me me!
Torith won't be using weapons at all and even if he goes into melee all his attacks use Dex so it would be great for him.
Thozar Earthchanter |
No need of those items for me!
GM Fuzzfoot |
I have to apologize - running multiple groups, I got my notes jumbled. Since you never found the sabotuer, they were supposed to join in the ambush! But I completely forgot until the letter came out - the other group did away with this threat early on, and for some reason I though you did.
So, you can choose to move forward or try to follow up on this lost thread, as you like. I just have to tweak a little...
Thozar Earthchanter |
Placed myself on the map. That knowledge check will inform my turn, just waiting for that before posting :)
Gundar Forgelight |
I think Gundar might be OOC cursed. I've rolled under 5 for something like 85% of my combat rolls over the last several combats. :\
GM Fuzzfoot |
Torith has been MIA for a few weeks. Since we have a decent size group here, for now we are going to simply assume he went back to the boat with the hydra treasure, and we'll see if he shows back up to resume.
GM Fuzzfoot |
So, the boards have been a mess, and it sounds like this week may be rough too, but rather than trying to move, I suggest we just hold tight until regular posting can resume.
Thozar Earthchanter |
Here too!
Kragmyr Grudgekeeper |
Attack, 15' reach: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 2) + 12 = 16
Attack, 15' reach: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 3) + 12 = 16
AC18+4=22.
Next round the giant will need a 6+ to Hit with his first attack and a 11+ with his second. 10HP left. Does 14-24 damage per Hit.
So the first attack will very likely take Kragmyr out of the fight, possibly killing him. If both hit again, he’ll be splattered.
——
So...if Kragmyr does become a pile of goo, mind if I take over the dwarven lass we rescued as a PC? I figure that it would make the most sense for adding in a replacement from a story point of view.
And if so, would it be alright to make her into a ranged damage dealer? I often have trouble editing the maps in a quick enough manner, so shooting at a distance would make life easier.
Thozar Earthchanter |
I'm not trying to make any promises on behalf of the GM, but max damage on one hit won't kill you by my math and with plenty of other targets, I doubt the giant will strike you again while you're down.
GM Fuzzfoot |
true - but in any case, Krag, yes of course you can take over the other dwarf.
Thozar Earthchanter |
I don't think it would have mattered in this case, but did we ever hand Agrimmosh, the Hammer of Unmaking to someone else?
GM Fuzzfoot |
No, apparently it is still on Thuradin's list. But someone else should take it - he would not have have left the group with it still in his possession.
Thozar Earthchanter |
Is there anything else on the list that would have been left?
GM Fuzzfoot |
Feel free to take anything from Thuradin on the loot list. I removes his name from Agrimmosh and a magic short bow and arrows. But I don't mind if you take anything else too.
Check out the loot list.
Kragmyr Grudgekeeper |
Put a lot of thought into this. On one hand, I like Kragmyr. He is a lot of fun to play.
On the other hand, I’m finding it hard to be at a computer to reliably move on the map. Being ranged would make things easier. That, and I’m running out of good sagas. And finally, I think that a story is better with danger. The best way to show this? Not all good guys making it.
With all that in mind, I’ll have Kragmyr die off here. It’s good for the story, and it’ll make things easier.
I’m still thinking of the best archer choice.
Ranger with favored enemy giants/orcs?
A slayer?
An Arsenal Champion archer warpriest?
Just not sure yet.
Kragmyr Grudgekeeper |
What I’m thinking right now is this...zen archer monk.
Str (15+1=16) Dex (14) Con (16) Int (8) Wis (18) Cha (8)
Wisdom to hit, Str to damage. Can’t flurry with fists, but with weapon familiarity can use a dwarven waraxe.
Feats:
Lvl 1 (Precise Shot) (Perfect Strike) (Steel Soul)
Lvl 2 (Weapon Focus Longbow)
Lvl 3 (Point Blank Master) (Deadly Aim)
Traits:
Glory of Old
Roll with it
Equipment
* Wand of CLW (given to party)
* Kragmyr’s wayfinder (paid for with WBL starting gold)
* Adaptive Longbow +1
* Ring of Protection +1
If all of that sounds alright I’ll get a profile built
Thozar Earthchanter |
Took 2 antitoxins.
GM, if Kragmyr dies, I have no problem with my turn staying the same, Thozar would have tried to heal him anyways.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Krag - yes, that sounds fine. I have a zen archer, and its a pretty decent and basic build. Adaptive longbow is a good call - that way you can benefit from strength boosts.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I was hoping to wrap up this fight before I left, but we will have to pick back up on Monday.
Once the giant is defeated, however, you will be level 5! So go ahead and use the time to start leveling up, if you like.
Thozar Earthchanter |
Woo! :D
Ingrahild Nargrymkin |
Alright, just about done. Just need to double check the math.
Damn, monks are MAD! They need Str, Dex, Con and Wis. That, and I didn’t want to dump Int.
So I ended up, using Traits and a feat, giving her +14 Diplomacy, +13 Sense Motive, +9 Intimidate, and...-3 Bluff.
To help explain this she has the Vow of Truth. If she ever lies (even white lies), she loses all of her ki. This is going to be a very honest dwarf.
Besides that, a very simple character. Good ranged capabilities, and with power attack/dwarf waraxe, she can switch hit if needed.
Thozar Earthchanter |
Sweet, when I finally start the CC train going we have someone to shoot the bad guys!
So many good 3rd level spells for a druid, 5th is going to be a fun level!
Ingrahild Nargrymkin |
Thozar, I can’t actually use the wand of CLW that I bought. You want to hold onto it?
Gundar Forgelight |
GM And All: Life is busy after being sick earlier in the week (and also still kinda recovering), so I'm taking a hiatus from the forums until this monday so that I don't always have it on my mind. Apologies!
Thozar Earthchanter |
I will happily take the wand! Is it for you or the party?
Ingrahild Nargrymkin |
For the party! This monk doesn't have the best AC, and is ranged anyways. While she can switch hit, I hope to keep her far from the front lines. The axe is a backup weapon.
Figured that Kragmyr was helping the party with healing, and was generally burning all of his spell slots to do so. A wand of CLW is a good replacement for that.
Also where is everyone? Except for you and Gundar (best of wishes to you!) is everyone else in mourning over Kragmyr's flattening?
Thozar Earthchanter |

Kragmyr's sudden death is quite the traumatic event, I'll probably pick his book up as a token to remember him by :P Maybe add in some grudges of my own. Did you ever write entries for it?
Ingrahild Nargrymkin |
No, I haven't written anything down myself. It was an explanation for the inspire rage mechanic. It was also an homage to this:
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Great_Book_of_Grudges
As such, I would imagine that they would read like like those. For example:

Basically, a never ending list of grievances. Both great and petty, and sometimes both. Every slight made against the dwarven people meticulously recorded. And when vengeance has been gained, crossed out...but not enough that you can't read it. That way everyone can celebrate and drink while recounting how a grudge was settled.
For his sagas, those were lifted almost directly from viking sagas, mostly the poetic edda. I was running out of good material, and it was getting harder and harder to find bits that fit.
----
But yes, please do take the tome. Kragmyr would have appreciated that.
GM Fuzzfoot |
OK, I am back! That was a long and exhausting trip, but I am downing coffee and getting back to business.
Gundar, I hope all is well - as you can see, you didn't miss anything as I was out too! Let me know if you need more time to get your balance back.
Ingrahild - My zen monk archer also has the truth vow. Comes to be quite tricky on occasion.
Anyone else have any questions regarding leveling?
Ingrahild Nargrymkin |
Welcome back!
Re: Vow of Truth
Oh, I'm sure that it will be hard. And it doesn't do all that much. But it readily explains her abysmal bluff score and low Cha, while having high diplomacy.
Thozar Earthchanter |
When we apply the level, will we have a chance to rest? If not, how should we apply it?
Gundar Forgelight |
Back now, and will start the process of leveling. Also, yay for Gundar-bot! As much or more succussful than Gundar-nonbot...
I admit it took me a couple reads to catch the poast about Kragmyr voluntarily surrendering the character! I was very confused. "Wait, what killed him again?"[/b]
Ingrahild Nargrymkin |
Luckily it seems that Kragmyr still gets to fight on...alongside Belir. I’ve got to say, that worked out quite well. He would also be very pleased to see his book of grudges continue with Thozar. In my own head-canon, this was not the first time it has received a new owner in this fashion.
Also, as a mechanical note. It gives +2 Knowledge History when consulted. Plenty of history to be learned by going through the grudges of centuries past.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Yes, this is an excellent point to rest for the night.
