I'm not sure I'm understanding the path option fully. Doesn't the path start at B1, and run along the edge of the cliff over to the 40ft spot on the map? And the bottom of the crater is 60ft below B1. So isn't there still climbing regardless?
No, there is also a path (basically off map) that leads up the very bottom edge to B1. So you don't have to climb to get to B1.

Is there room for Scruffy next to Whendle?
Whendle I can either Burning Hands green or cast Burst of Radiance and risk blinding you as well.
Fuzzfoot how many hours have we been traveling? I need to know how many times I cast Shield Companion.
GM Fuzzfoot |
There is no room next to anyone on the ledge - it is 2' wide. You can make acrobatic checks to try to work past each other if you want to change order, at the risk of falling 60'.
You have been travelling for weeks, actually, but as far as today, let's say it is early afternoon, so half-way through a second casting.
Barid Sidorka |
I can't cast through Scruffy. Still trying to understand the layout. So I can't really see whendel and in order to get to a spot where I can see him I have to switch places with Scruffy with a climb check of 11?
GM Fuzzfoot |
Ok, so you all came up a path of stairs along the bottom of the map. It comes out at the edge of the cliff, and if you look closely at the map, there is a small ledge along side the cliff. You aren't around the corner yet, neither is Korez. Henrikuaxian was further along the ledge and came back when the snakes appeared. Scruffy just went out to the ledge.
Climbing around people is not an option. (Or at least not one I would care to risk).
If anyone wants to pass someone else on the ledge (including scruffy at this point), they have to make an Acrobat check DC 10 (assuming the person is allowing it). If you want to pass a snake, the DC is 15. If you fail the check, you fall down the cliff.
Barid Sidorka |
What if Scruffy first came back onto the stairs, That would allow others onto the ledge right?
Whendel Walkner |
I misunderstood the map. I thought there as a gap between me and the green snake. Maybe I should have asked, but I thought I had no way to move back towards the green snake therefore it would have no way to get to me.
Thundering Bull |
It looks like you are on the edge of the 10 foot gap Whendel. To move back, I think you would have had to have made a DC 10 Acrobatics check (without a running start) or a DC 11 climb check to make it back to the rest of the party.
I have a 5 foot gap to cross before coming to your aid, which I intend on doing next turn but via climb instead of jumping (because I like living).
GM Fuzzfoot |
That is correct. Whendel has a 10' gap behind him - you were reading the map correctly. But you not having a way back doesn't equal the snake not having a way forward. The snake doesn't care about the gap, it is climbing the wall above you. They have a good climb check and a climb speed, so they are going to have an advantage here. Actually, the green one wouldn't have come after you, but Henrikuaxian booked away, and I just couldn't see a constrictor wanting to go after a crocodile!
Barid Sidorka |
Spider Climb grants a climb speed and creatures with a climb speed can take 10 on climb even if rushed or threatened while climbing.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I am going to be out for the next couple days. Should be back online on Sunday. Since this next part is exploration, I don't think I can run that too well remotely, but go ahead and decide what you are doing next and I will do what I can.
Barid Sidorka |
Not that it mattered with what I presume was a true strike attack but since Barid can't see further then 30 feet he is considered to be flat-footed vs any ranged attack more then 30 feet away. Luckily most sneak-attack abilities have to be within 30 feet.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Yep it was true strike, but that is a pretty nasty drawback. Is that your oracle curse?
Barid Sidorka |
One of them yes. The other is a -4 on weapon attack rolls.
Thundering Bull |
Whendel, I just ran a table where the sorcerer's wand of Magic Missile was the MVP. Hardness 10 is brutal, having a way to whittle them down anyways is important! Never doubt the wand of MM!
Whendel Walkner |
I have seen it be very important to fights also. It is just very predictable for Whendel. He can attempt to hit with a fire bolt or auto hit with magic missiles. Don't get me wrong. i love playing Whendel. I just can't wait until is one trick is 'fireball'.
As for combat sounds, I struggle with figuring out perception DC's. Yes it is -10, but for each 10ft, it is +2. The walls might add +something. As a GM I struggle with it. I GM a group on Sundays sometimes and they drive me crazy with all their perception checks in the 30's. They can hear a mouse fart 3 rooms away.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I am creating Chronicles and expect to report today. I still need PFS# from Barid.
Also, if anyone else has something to note on their sheet (purchases, etc), just let me know.
Boons:
Barid: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Bull: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Henrikuaxian: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Kelumur: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Korez: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Whendel: 1d20 ⇒ 9
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Alas, no one wins a boon this time.
For those that want to know the meta behind this scenario, here is some info.
So the basic idea behind this scenario was to make the pilgrimage while respecting the rules (which you couldn't read, so I thought this was going to be harder than it was!)
You started with 10 respect points, and made or lost more depending on your actions. In almost every case, you gained - although often I thought it was going the other way.
Then at the end, the number of points you had determined Jiraku's response more than the 3 questions - although each question had + or - depending on your choice and your rolls, but Barid's diplomacy was so ridiculously high, and your points going in were so high, it would have been very hard to fail at the end. Some of the other answers could have netted you +2 for success, and worst failure was -2.
Current Respect Points: 17
+2 for clearing rocks from path
+2 for delicious rice
+1 for sounding the gong (and not breaking it)
-1 didn't clean up after first battle at temple
-0 didn't steel or destroy the eggs
+0 guest book - recorded, but not in Dtang, Nagaji or Tien
+1 question 1
+1 question 2
+1 question 3
Anything 10 or above got your the result you did. 1-9 you still could have avoided the fight, but only if you walked away.

Player Name: Edward McGee
Character Name: Barid Sidorka
PFS #: 145373-20
Faction: Dark Archives
Day Job: none
While adventuring in an area strongly connected to an element (e.g. a volcano, deep under the ocean, or an Elemental
Plane), attune that area to Zarta’s extraplanar ritual. You can attempt this attunement once per region by spending 10
minutes and attempting a Knowledge (arcana or planes) check with a DC equal to 15 plus your character level.
kn planes DC 19: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
GM Fuzzfoot |
Thanks. I don't understand the quote - what are you rolling for? Is this some boon you can use instead of a day job?
Barid Sidorka |
Faction card. One of the season 8 Dark Archive goals.
GM Fuzzfoot |
B arid - that number comes back with Huratas Pelicore - is this really the number you want it assigned to?
Barid Sidorka |
The character was Core. Before playing at 2nd level I changed the name, rebuilt it using classic rules, and switched it to Classic. All legal to do but I have no clue how to report that I did it. The # is correct on my end.
That is why I'm posting as an alias. I couldn't change the name of my -20 character.
Barid Sidorka |
How did we lose Tanburu's respect?
Korez |
Same question ^^ but especially since the Kami Reunited boon which you didn't X out says it requires both Respect boons. So we either should have gotten Tanbaru's Respect or not gotten the Reunited boon.
GM Fuzzfoot |
You didn't. Tanburu's Respect is on a different scenario chronicle (I don't know which one, but I asked early in this one if anyone had it because it gave you a few bonuses).
The boon crossed off is for two snake animal companion options if you took those eggs to hatch and raise, which you didn't. The bottom things crossed off were Jiraku's weapon, which you only got for fighting and defeating her.
In both cases, if you had earned these, something else would have been lost (either in scenario or gold at the end).
Barid Sidorka |
Presumably the one where he was found in the tapestry. We never actually decided what to do with the snakes, Barid mentioned they could be valuable as guardians and asked who would raise them. Are Tanburu and Jiraku raising them? Barid can't have a snake companion anyway so moot point for him.
Thank you for GMing.
Just noticed you have -2 prestige for prestige spent. I don't remember spending prestige in the game. I can probably think of a scroll or wand to buy with it though so no need to adjust.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I generally make these one at a time, using Save As and then editing... the 2 prestige spent were for Henrikuaxian, and then I forgot to remove it for you and Bull. New chronicles are updated. If you want to spend 2 prestige, that's fine - I can put it back or you can just keep the first one. But it was just a mistake on my part working in the wee hours.

I do exactly the same!
Thanks again for the game GM! It's been a blast playing with everyone, hope to play more with everyone in the future!
Whendel Walkner |
I have not had a chance to get the chonicle. Could you please leave them up until tomorrow. Thanks. As usual very well done Fuzzfoot. I really enjoyed this game. Thanks to all for keeping whendel alive. See you around on the boards.
Barid Sidorka |
I played it with another character.
