Oh yeah, duh. Gonna reread players guide now that more of it is relevant now
Saul Gibson

Fhingle and Logan, maybe Maggie and her family could do some gather information for you on the saltworks.
Foxy, is there is a limitation on how often we can ask our teams to do something? Player's Guide implies once a week, but we aren't exactly following that structure...
| Foxy Quickpaw |
I'm unsure how to do that. For characters I have the DC given (DC25 in case of the Red Jills) And you'd use your skill which is +3Int +2Ranks +3CS +1d6 +1d20.
For the teams I roll tier +your cha mod. But the DC is also independent of the one given in the AP it's a fixed 15.
So I tend to take the PG approach and limit the number of your team actions. But one action per team per weak would even be more than the PG allows, as you can see on page 22. Where you need 55 supporters to be able to take more than two rebellion actions a week.
Saul Gibson
|
We've been playing out every single day. Player's Guide seems to indicate that the minigame aspect will handwave time and address actions over the course of a week at a time. I would argue (but your call of course) that we should be able to ask our teams to do something each day. Because otherwise what are they doing all the time?
| Foxy Quickpaw |
Living their lives. And then doing a little rebellion in their free time. How many days did it take you to find a dead cat?
How long it takes your team to complete a task depends on the task of course. If it's deliver this message to a known person at a known place it's a matter of an hour. If it's searching for the home base of the Red Jills where you have an idea where it might be, it depends on the approach.
Comb the desert! works faster than trying not to be detected. On Temple Hill where also the temple of Asmodeus stands and their clerics tend to the graves, which make up the temple hill park.
I'll have them report back as soon as I think enough time has elapsed.
The PG assumes, you pay for the teams and they live in your basement. But so far this hasn't happened. And I don't think it would be clever.
Saul Gibson
|
Ok, what you are saying is that there is no hard and fast rule. I can live with that. So Fhingle and Logan could ask Maggie to gather information, and if you deem it as appropriate then it could happen.
Maggie and fam does live in the basement and we do pay for them, at least theoretically. Salonius handled that side of things. If he doesn't come back, I will take that job unless you want to do it and I don't plan to follow his loot distribution method.
Saul Gibson
|
Fhingle don't know if I understood your last post. Are you all for going in tonight? How are your spell slots? This could be the hardest thing we've done yet.
Saul Gibson
|
Ok! With them, and our dragon, this will make for a very interesting adventure! Once Logan wraps up his conversation I am good for advancing to the next morning.
| Foxy Quickpaw |
The loot sheet is not mine, but Salonius. But I can read it.

I should have said, I don't understand it...
I don't see the actual party fund in there of our straight up gold, do you?
Fhingle, if you want to start it over from scratch, personally I think that is the best way to go about it. And I would really appreciate it if we could just do a normal loot distribution; whoever is best suited for the item gets it. People play with the party in mind and not themselves. If no one wants it, we sell it, and split the gold. None of this party share stuff. Please.
I am also willing to put the spreadsheet together if you would like to pass, Little Mac.

Unless you would like Fhingle to have a post on getting our disguises, I think we are ready to fast forward to the exterior of the saltworks.
| Fhingle Nib |
Looking at the loot the funny thing about all those scrolls is they would be useful right now.
As a player I am not opposed to selling things but we shouldn't sell all consumables since they could save us spell slots and be beneficial later on.
| Fhingle Nib |
Saul Gibson
|
Cool, Fhingle! Could you add another column at the end for our party fund? Which I have no idea how much is in it right now...
Well let's see, if we gave it an even share, it should have the same amount of gold that I have more or less since I haven't bought anything.
I have 300 gold. Is that an okay party fund, Foxy?
I don't think we should sell consumables at level 2. Maybe later when stuff gets old and we haven't used it.
Saul Gibson
|
Me either, Fingle... which is kinda obvious because I complained about it all the time. Well I kinda understood it but I didn't like that method at all, was too by the book and too inflexible.
As for captaining a boat, yeah, that is in my character history (dad was a fisherman and Saul did it ages ago). But next time we level I really should put a point into profession:fisherman! Oversight. :)
Saul Gibson
|
I made a few adjustments to the loot sheet. The exact sale price of the leather armor doesn't really matter at this point, so I left it. The columns on the left are just to track the things we find and want to sell. If we find things that a PC want, they can immediately go into that person's column.

If opening a door is a move action, then Logan you should be able to charge at him and deal damage. (you can't charge and grapple I don't think.)
Saul Gibson
|
ha ha, you are right. he is probably tied up. when he doesn't post it is for very valid reasons!
| Foxy Quickpaw |
I was referring to your "And then I tie them with manacles to something solid in the room."
There are so many points to interrupt that, that I wanted to point out, that you limit yourself to actions that match the action economy, and only "try to do this and that" if you don't know how it will play out.
Saul Gibson
|
Aha! You are right, that shouldn't have been written like that.
Absolutely; I think I just misinterpreted you.
Logan Hawkes
|
Sorry everyone. It was a busy day and I wasn't in my office.
I'm a bit confused though, what happened to that guy who was running out of the room? Did he make it? Is this combat on a map somewhere that I'm not seeing?
| Foxy Quickpaw |
The map is not sorted. He go ta head start on you, but now he only got a move action to the door and another move action to open the door. You can easily get to him. It's the back door of the large building.
As Saul told, you're able to charge him. You could attack him with a weapon, trip him, but not grapple.
Logan Hawkes
|
I'm actually wondering about doing an overrun. I've not done that maneuver before, but if I read it right, I can charge and then move through his square, with an attack thrown in there too. It looks like it would provoke an AOO, but I'd like to try and get in his way so he can't keep running.
Saul Gibson
|
Hmmmm... yes.
I think Chaotic Good gives a lot of leeway in a situation like this. I don't think Saul would have any problem killing prisoners who act up. He would justify it as necessary for the greater good and maintaining cover.
Saul Gibson
|
It was a good idea Logan. Overrun would have been perfect for this situation.
Saul Gibson
|
Yes, Maggie! That was quite the stab. I'm glad we didn't try to fight her way back when.
Saul Gibson
|
Saul thinks we are outnumbered. Sounds like he is wrong. Will running be better? I don't know. This is a stressful situation for Saul, especially seeing how Logan was nearly laid out in a single hit.
Could you put the enemies on the map? Theater of the mind is starting to get hard here because we are spread out across the map.
