Taking the baby would interrupt your daily routine and ruin your career chances in the path you choose so far. But besides that, you'd be perfectly able to do it.

Not that I would want you to settle for the baby here in the game. Just want to point out, that it fits Kendra's life just as well as yours.

I know who would be happy to take it, but you'll find out later ;)

Well, that tick encounter could go better or worse. Where I play CC we had two casters blast them with fireballs. That is much more effective.

But I carried the baby with me as the swarm came out of the couch. That sucks.

I'm almost positive that is the most damage I have ever dealt in Pathfinder on a single hit.

Yes I've seen them Foxy thanks to your previous suggestion. I actually have one memorized, we just need to fight someone evil that I expect to last more then a couple rounds.

I fully expect to need it when we run up against the tentacle monster in the bay we have already seen the vision of.

I have one, but I'll do very little damage with one.... This thing took a flail hit and isn't bloodied, so 1d4 + 5 hp damage for a round isn't going to do much to it.

Did we miss something in this adventure?

Because honestly it just seems to make no sense.
You have a town devoted to a demon lord, where they are sacrificing the only baby in town to bring forth a new creature from beyond the stars (so the population would be dying off) a ruined manor house where things from beyond the stars is just randomly flying around and a giant is just living in the center of the "Temple", and priests are sacrificing themselves to bring forth things that should not be.
By all rights this cult should have died off years ago. (If you cut off your next generation AND most devoted followers, a cult would burn out quickly.)

I understand the railroad is: go to the manor, then through the gate then someplace into the bay, BUT it seems like the problem is the people have made a pact, and there's nobody worth saving here.
They all either support the cult/are infected or don't bother opposing it.

There's really no reason for us to be here as it's not getting us closer to the Wispering Way... We should just set the whole region on fire and let it all burn. It would not only take care of rooting out the cult (they would all be dead/their temples burned) it would cut off the food source for whatever is in the bay AND kill off any of the things that should not be.
And it would get us back on track of trying to track down the real threat to the area.


There seems to be some people. The mayor I believe is ok and while he can't help directly is not reporting us and is looking after the baby. Plus the guy we pulled from the water.

I think we just haven't discovered the greater mystery here, so there is a demon cult and people summoning stuff from the dark tapestry

Well, you left out the temple. I'm not one to force you on the railroad, but it would explain quite a bit about the cult. Not that it would change your conclusion, that you could probably burn down the whole village with only minor repercussions from your god. Sarenrae is all for repentance so you would have to offer that to all fleeing the fire, before you cut them down.

And of course it is a big distraction from what you seek. You found the rider. Only issue is that you don't know where to go for the other one. I guess there will be something ahead to clarify this. You also don't know what the Whispering Way wanted here. This might shine some light on the future shenanigans of the way.

But I don't want to spoil too much. But summoning creatures that kill the priests is a new feat of the cult.
