Shohiraj takes 10 to disable the ray platform. The guards have masterwork equipment: shields, breastplates and silver warhammers. They also each have a potion of cure moderate wounds and an oil of magic weapon.
Joliryn answers.
"Well, I've been here about three months now. I was sent to investigate the efficiency of this place. Apparently those in the know have been wondering whether the researchers here are truly conducting business as they should."
Realizing the ray is disabled, she moves back into the room. Fluid-filled canisters attached to the walls contain a range of small creatures floating in stasis. An overturned operating table has broken one of these containers, spilling viscous liquid across the floor. A much larger glass cylinder stands to the southeast, though it appears empty.
"Most of the rooms are like this. Experiments. Gods know if I know what exactly they are trying to accomplish though. But they do take incredible notes. I'm not sure what you are here for, but if its documents you want, knock yourself out. They are everywhere." She nonchalantly flips a few sheafs of paper on the guard table.
The claxon continues to sound in the distant corridors.
"Now maybe you tell me why Aspis HQ sent a hunting party out?"

These records go into little detail but suggest the lab has been in operation for at least 5 years. Throughout the notes and in the header and titles of some of them is an obscure notation that seems to indicate this facility's name: Slumbersun.

After assembling the notes in the lab, the group heads deeper into Slumbersun. Joliryn moves with purpose through the corridors. There are several locked doors and gates to navigate.
Joliryn stops at a particulary heavy looking blast door that blocks the likely way.
"Hmm. This isn't good. All the rest of these defenses are kind of ... automatic. This door had to be shut by a researcher. Which means they must suspect something other than an escaped "experiment". I'm afraid they might be destroying evidence as we speak. Quick, follow me. I know a back way to the central core. It might be a little dangerous, so be ready."
She leads you south a few minutes to another door, this one with a metal inscription etched above it that reads “Bretheda Dome 3.”
"Here we are, this is where they keep some of their nastier pets. If we can get past this it will lead us into the research area proper." Joliryn says.

'Well, aren't I just a ball of usefulness. Hopefully I get the cobwebs out before we finish this mission. Can't say as I've earned my status back yet.'
With a sigh, he remains silent as the others converse.
Just prior to the group opening the door, he looks to Joliryn. "You have any specific entities we should expect? Any particular types of damage work better in this room?"

Shohiraj looks over the documents blankly, not recognising any of the material, shrugging she puts some into her backpack.
She then moves out with the rest of the team, keeping an on Joliryn.
When they get to the door and Joliryn indicates trouble ahead, Shohiraj gives it the once over to ensure their are no nasty surprises.

The door is safe and opens with a hushed whoosh. Inside the room it is misty and has a disturbingly tangy smell. The ceiling rises 20 feet above the catwalk and 30 feet above the alien habitat.
At the far end of the room, you can barely make out (beyond the glass), a trio of researchers in each of the two labs. They notice the door open as you enter. They furiously begin heaping armloads of parchment and bound journals into their arms and carry it deeper in the facility, out of view.
"As I expected, they are destroying documents!" Joliryn forces out under her breath.

As the group moves in to challenge the researchers behind the glass, the jungle floor suddenly becomes quite active. Bushes and trees rattle as three small six-legged finned-back creatures rush across the floor and up the walls of the enclosure to hamper the group's progress. They cunningly angle themselves like long-necked hunters, hissing and baring their fanged snouts while a forth one appears in the underbrush and lets out a curdling squeal.
Finally, an emaciated quadruped with a mouth full of jagged teeth and a cluster of five bald, mewling offspring clinging to its back flashes with psychic energy as it unleashes a strange and twisted suggestion upon several of your group.
In the distance, the rooms start to grow a bit foggy as the rooms fill with some sort of "steam" from the destruction process of the researchers.

@Falth Both creatures are magical beasts. Feel free to activate your bane (if you wish) and add that damage to a your attacks above. Magic weapons will get past the Su's considerable DR
@Rataji Because of the whelps on its back, the Su benefits from improved evasion and all around vision. The Su can pounce and rake and cause severe bleeding. No real weaknesses or other resistances on either creature.
@Rataji Because of the elevation distance, the lightning bolt can only strike one creature. Given what you know, feel free to change your action or target.

Zurnzal moves forward past the beast Shohiraj and Joliryn have trapped, careful to avoid the creature as he passes. Even moving cautiously, however, the speed with which Rataji had imbued him propelled him forward toward the reddish beast in front of him.

Rataji blasts the nearest creature with his arcane missiles. Falth targets the Su with two arrows through the dense underbrush. Zurnzal begins to sweat slightly as the fear settles over him like a blanket. He does what he can to resist and find a solution to their current plight, however. "Not working. Have to get to them. Have to stop them....OUT OF MY WAY!" The half-orc shouts, lowers his head, and rushes headlong at the enemy standing before him.
Move action to use martial flexibility, gaining Power Attack and Improved Overrun, move and standard to attempt overrun against the Red Voonith.
Improved Overrun: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
If that doesn't beat the voonith's CMD, I stop in the space in front of it.

The voonith's squeal is particularly potent and much of the group writhes in agony. Joliryn unleashes another set of fire bolts at the voonith, but the second blazes errant. Ignoring her bleeding wound, Thestil launches her assault on the psychic creature, tearing into its hardened flesh with her bladed toy. Zurnzal races to the back wall, narrowly missing the su's snapping maw. The remaining vooniths, perhaps in fear of the su, but mortally wounded as well, withdraw to the shadows of the underbrush or the safety of the hallway beyond. The su returns the favor and mauls Thestil, unwilling to release her arm at the end of it, as the whelps cling perilously to its arcing spine.
Zurnzal can see through the mist that the researchers are feverishly destroying documents in a vat of acid on the floor.
Shohiraj acts normally this round. Also, I added in some extra damage for Thestil as she would have been using vital strike last round.
