Amarthecthel
|
The elven magus Amarthecthel moves up to the stairs leading to the round structure, in case some threat should come from that direction. There hed waits for a signal to close up on his allies.
| EndlessForms |
As Quiven moves further into the room he approaches the shrine and sense of deep cold and despair overcomes him.
touch attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
He is able to dodge away from the statue in time to avoid the overwhelming cold, however.
Quiven Glist
|
Whoa! Did the statue just try to touch me or something? Something cold and very sad. I'm not sure what to make of it, but watch that thing!
Was I able to get to the corner and look?
| EndlessForms |
Yep, you got to the corner. It won't reset for a while so you can move about the room freely but that's really all there is in that room.
| EndlessForms |
Ok, I think you guys are done in here. I'll move us along to the inner sanctum.
The party moves back around to the chamber where the slaves were working and heads to the round inner chamber at the center of the temple. A row of columns lines the inside of this tall, thin dome, each decorated with intricate carvings. The walls are completely covered in flowing script, etched into the red-brown stone with the delicacy of fine calligraphy. In the room’s center, a massive mountain of bronze rises nearly thirty feet. Several crates are visible on the south side of the stylized mountain, opposite the stepped entryway. The flicker of an unseen flame illuminates the room in dim light, the shadows shifting as if something were moving in front of its source.
Knowledge (religion) checks.

Leastrie: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Octavio: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
There appear to be two people waiting in here for you.
Initiative:
1. Quiven, Octavio, and Leastrie
2. Cathixia
3. Boomkin and Amarth
4. Neevindi
Quiven, Octavio, and Leastrie are up!
You do not have line-of-sight through the statue so you can not shoot through it. You can not actually see them from the entrance of the room but I put them on the map for when you move in.
Quiven Glist
|
If I have adequate cover, I will run up toward the statue and try to stealth.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
| EndlessForms |
Quiven quietly moves about the room, trying to remain unseen.
Boomkin is also unfamiliar with this iconography.
Initiative:
1. Quiven, Octavio, and Leastrie
2. Cathixia
3. Boomkin and Amarth
4. Neevindi
Octavio and Leastrie are up!
Leastrie Oakenleaf
|
Apparently preferring to shoot first and ask questions later, Leastrie moves into the room and fires his longbow at Cathixia.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
| EndlessForms |
Octavio readies to charge (I'm not actually sure if you can ready to charge since it's a full-round action) and Quiven fires his bow, although Cathixia dodges out of the way. She responds by grabbing two scrolls from the desk in front of her and advancing on Leastrie, striking out to give him a nasty papercut.
+1 scroll blade attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Initiative:
1. Quiven, Octavio, and Leastrie
2. Cathixia
3. Boomkin and Amarth
4. Neevindi
Boomkin and Amarth are up!
Quiven Glist
|
Leastrie fires his bow, not me. I'm being sneaky!
Amarthecthel
|
Amarthecthel sprints fleetly across the floor to draw up before the person on the east side. "Drop what you are holding and surrender. No harm will come to you," he says.
Amarthecthel readies an attack. If the figure should do anything but comply with his demand, the elf will cast shocking grasp and strike her.
Conditional attack roll v. Touch AC: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8[+3 if she is in metal armor]
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Boomkin

"Attack!" commands Boomkin, Furball swiftly moves to thrust his fangs into Cathixia,
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 to avoid AoO
Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
"I'll try to go around," says Boomkin as he moves into position.
Boomkin moves closer to Cathixia doing his best to avoid any AoO
Octavio Rook
|
Octavio will attempt to move around behind Cathixia into a flanking position, as he rounds the curving center structure, the other enemy comes into view!
"I've got another bastard back here!!"
| EndlessForms |
Amarth casts a spell and his hands surge in electricity. The woman he is facing has no intention of surrendering but Amarth has trouble connecting with the wily woman. (She is wearing no armor.)
Boomkin rushes around while commanding Furball to attack the woman holding the scrolls. Furball is not agile enough and Cathixia lashes out with a scroll.
scroll attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Furball then bites into Cathixia's leg.
Neevindi moves up behind Cathixia and stabs at Furball with a dagger.

1. Quiven, Octavio, and Leastrie
2. Cathixia
3. Boomkin and Amarth
4. Neevindi
Quiven, Octavio, and Leastrie are up!
Octavio Rook
|
Octavio chases Neevindi around the column, coming to stand behind him. The Cavalier lashes out with his flail.
Flail Power Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 = 12 +2 for flanking
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Leastrie draws his blade against Cathixia but she swats it out of the way with the scroll in her left hand. Octavio throws his flail against Neevindi but she dodges out of the way.
Initiative:
1. Quiven, Octavio, and Leastrie
2. Cathixia
3. Boomkin and Amarth
4. Neevindi
Quiven is up!
Quiven Glist

Quiven pops out of stealth and will fire an arrow toward Cathixia.
Bow: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 18
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Sneak Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
| EndlessForms |
Quiven fires an arrow at Cathixia from the shadows and hits her in the back of the leg.
Cathixia steps back and turns her scroll against Boomkin.
scroll blade attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Initiative:
1. Quiven, Octavio, and Leastrie
2. Cathixia

Boomkin and Amarth are up!

Claw 2, Flanking: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 11
Noticing that the lion is having a hard time connecting with it's targets, Boomkin orders it to stay back in the meantime.
Furball 5 ft steps back.
Boomkin holds his quarterstaff with his two hands, gathers his strength and channels it all to Cathixia's head, who injured his trusty comapanion moments ago.
Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Amarthecthel

In melee at last, Amarthecthel thrusts and parries with his rapier, while looking for an opening to deliver his shocking grasp.
Full attack on Neevindi.
Rapier: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 - 2 = 211d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 <- Against full AC
shocking grasp spell: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 2 = 71d6 ⇒ 6 <-Against Touch AC. +3 if target wearing metal armor.
Looks like the rapier hit for 7 points, but the shocking grasp spell is still hanging.
| EndlessForms |
Furball claws into Neevindi as Boomkin knocks Cathixia to the ground. Amarth stabs Neevindi in the side and she falls as well. (don't even need to confirm that crit.)
Out of combat.
Cathixia had: scroll of bear’s endurance, scroll of cause fear, scroll of charm person, scroll of false life, scrolls of identify (2), scroll of tongues; spell component pounch, silver Aspis Consortium badge, and a
Neevindi had: potion of cure light wounds, antitoxin; masterwork chain shirt, daggers (3), sap, cold-weather outfit, sunrods (4), bronze Aspis Consortium badge
At Cathixia’s desk is a detailed map, albeit somewhat allegorical and stylized, of the Vudran peninsula. Close inspection of the map reveals that it hides within it the workings of a know direction spell and functions as a scroll of the same spell.
A small golden statuette of an asura (a many-armed and grotesquely tusked seminaked woman) is partially wrapped for transport to Golarion proper and rests in one of the Aspis Consortium’s crates here.
A much larger statue has been wrapped in blankets and tied with tough twine, and lies on its side beneath Cathixia’s desk. Knowledge (religion) checks.
Let's get everybody healed up and I believe a few faction missions are in here and then we'll move on.
Copying from a scroll will use up the scroll but they are going to disappear at the end of the scenario anyways. So unless you use one of the scrolls in the final fight you might as well copy it into your spellbook afterwards.
| EndlessForms |
Leastrie does not recognize the figure represented by the large statue.
Quiven Glist
|
Quiven will take interest in the badges that was found on both. I believe I need these to prove they were here, right?
| EndlessForms |
Yep, I think that's it. This room has about half the faction missions but I just noticed that we don't actually have any of those factions. So I guess we can move on. Feel free to retroactively deal out heals; you would have had time to heal up and buff before combat.
As the party searches the inner sanctum, a group of Aspis appear in the temple, returning from their journeys outside. A thin man dressed in black and a small, nervous-looking ratfolk are led by a burly half-orc woman. She shouts out, "Ruddy Pathfinders! You'll pay for this!" as she begins to reach for her weapons.
Leska: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Initiative:
1. Octavio, Boomkin, Leastrie, Amarth, and Quiven
2. Tzizzan, Yashi, and Leska
You guys are up!
If possible we should try to finish before Wednesday. I will have to disappear from Wed-Sun due to GenCon and I would hate to make you guys wait when we're so close to the end.
Quiven Glist

Quiven will step up close enough to gain the advantage with his first bow shot Since we act before them, they are flat-footed and my sneak attack bonus should be applied, right? I just have to be within 30' of the target.
Bow vs Leska: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

And I'd hate not to have my chronicle sheet before GenCon!
Amarthecthel dashes lightly over the stones, attacking nearly at a run.
Burn his third arcane pool point for Spelldance, gaining +10' movement and +2 AC. Attack Leska.
shocking grasp attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 <- vs. Touch AC. +3 if Leska is wearing metal armor.
Gah! What is wrong with my off-hand attacks?
Quiven Glist

Never fear, my poor Taldan friend. I will not tarnish your legacy with tales of your ineptitude! LOL
Boomkin

"So they're the ones responsible for this," as Boomkin moves up to aid his comrades,

Quiven puts an arrow into Leska's leg and she howls in rage. Octavio swings a bit too hard and misses his target. Leastrie puts an arrow in Yashi's chest. Amarth charges his hand with electricity and moves up to Leska but she dodges out of the way. Boomkin smacks Leska on the side of the head while his pet leaps about and tries to bite the ratfolk.
Leska puts both of kukris on Octavio.

Yashi puts his siangham into Boomkin.
siangham: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Tzizzan says, "Good luck Leska! I'm right here with you!" and then proceeds to withdraw from combat to take cover next to the slaves.
Initiative:
1. Octavio, Boomkin, Leastrie, Amarth, and Quiven
2. Leska and Yashi
You guys are up!
Leastrie Oakenleaf

Dropping his bow and drawing his blade, Leastrie circles around Amarth and Furball, provoking but moving into flanking position.

Boomkin then quickly knocks Yashi unconscious.
Out of combat! Unless, that is, you are going to beat up the cowering ratfolk in the corner.
| EndlessForms |
Tzizzan, the ratfolk, is hiding in the corner. His attitude is unfriendly (Leska is dead but if you wake up Yashi he will be hostile).
Leska was carrying a wayfinder marked with the name Decian Bardos. She is also wearing a silver Aspis Consortium shield badge.
Actually, I think Grand Lodge people need to question Tzizzan for their faction mission.
