I moved the Rebellion sheet over to the Loot & Notes just to consolidate things in one place. We still have a few in-game days before our next Rebellion round, but with a new player and some amount of time between our previous round I would like to go ahead and start the discussion on what your plans are for Rebellion Round 2. You will still have 2 actions available for the rebellion to take.

Also, at the very least will need to replace Saniel with Sholti, but if you want to look at re-arranging leadership positions you are welcome to do that.

Finally, I don't recall but did you all ever sell of the loot you had previously found? I saw people marked items they were claiming, but couldn't remember if you sold the rest. If not, this may be a good time to take care of that.

I understand what you are saying but as before, I'm not real sure how to operate this rebellion stuff and always relied on more experienced peeps to tell me what to do here. I am pretty certain that I was properly placed in the only area in which I can make a contribution. I do not recall if we sold stuff or not. I don't think I 'realized' any of the income (in case of taxes :)).

My guess is Gather Information is one of the things on our rebellion list. We should re-assess those items, see if we gained any allies, money, or whatever it is we are supposed to gain and not lose. My guess is Sholti is a good fit for Saniel's original assignment? As I have stated, I have no idea how this stuff works so I'm counting on you experienced experts to tell me when and what. :)

You could potentially use a team to Gather Information, but you also can do it yourselves. Gather Information is a function of Diplomacy.

Well, if I'm not mistaken Saniel was one of the main proponents of using the system. We can hand wave it a bit and have it run more in the background and I will essentially just bot it for you if that would be preferential for the group. Then the only real decisions you would need to make is what you send your teams out to do. I don't have a problem with this if needed. Like I mentioned before, I can definitely see the potential for it to confuse/slow things down.

I guess if everyone wants to give their vote on whether you want the party to manage the rebellion sheet or just have me run it in the background. We'll go with a majority rules.

Regarding the Rebellion Sheet: I apologize, but the accounting subsystem of that sort for this AP is definitely NOT my strong suit. I just looked at it again and yeah...I just get confused. Unless another player feels confident about managing it, it's probably best for GM Dak to bot it.

Regarding loot: I see in my hero lab portfolio that I gave my character the share of gold in my column (but haven't spent any).

As I said, I vote for the bot. On another issue, I would like someone to be a leader. Not me, but someone with some experience, just say things like this team do this, this team that, and we are going to go now and work on the Salt Works issue. This is what we want to accomplish on this trip.

I'll take another look at the sheet tonight to refresh my memory. I don't mind a bit of book work but I seem to recall from earlier that I thought perhaps a bit less "assign 2, check chart, roll dice, receive X" and a bit more "assign teams as NPCs in character as our devious imaginations see fit....GM roll it into the story" would be better. That puts it a lot more on our fine GM but I think the narrative take is more interesting if you're up for it.

I've had a couple of busy work days so I haven' looked at the rebellion stuff since back during the previous campaign, which was a while ago. We didn't get far enough along to start using the rules. I'll give them another look as soon as I can.

From what I do remember I didn't completely understand them, but they looked interesting. I like the idea of something along he lines of what Nils is suggesting at least. I'm tempted to say let's give them a shot, but I also know myself well enough to realize I'm not much of a bookkeeping person.

Really I'm fine with whatever most people would be happy with. One thing that could work (for me at least) would be to take care of the rebellion stuff over the weekends. I have more time then to devote to it. I suppose we could go bigger at the beginning and if it's working great, but if not scale it back to running more in he background.

Have officer titles been assigned yet?

Yup, officers were assigned. The only one that is not, is Saniel's old spot. They actually already did one round of the Rebellion, the second round is coming up soon which is why I brought it up.

As noted, I'm fine just botting it if that is the consensus. Then you will just know what teams you have available and any rewards you get along the way and can make decisions on how to best utilize them. I'm playing in another Hell's Rebels game that is into book two and we are running the rebellion in much the same way for a lot of the same reasons mentioned above.

Since Sholti and Saniel are largely filling the same part role, I'm assuming they'll work in the same officer? Sholti will take his place.

Since it has been awhile and we have someone new, and it was brought to the forefront on my mind from one of my other games, I wanted to discuss marching order and Standard Door Opening Procedure again.

I don't believe we ever established a marching order so if we can do that, it would be helpful.

As for the SDOP this is what I have from before: "Nils checks the door and scans for tracks, then listens at it. Assuming there isn't anything of note, Sorix Detects magic on the door. Assuming there isn't anything of note, Mawl opens the door."

Let me know if there are any needed adjustments and I will add the info to the Campaign Details for ease of access.

Yep that sounds right to me. I might add that in stealth situations Nils will probably range out ahead of the group a bit while in "hulk smash" instances he'll let Mawl take point. :)

Looks good to me too. If Sorix is ever caught "out front," something's gone wrong. At least until I can cast emergency force sphere.

Put Sholti in the marching order where you think she'll fit best.

Her stealth and perception are good, but she has no trap or lock related stuff. For a few levels her attack and damage should be about on par with a martial class, but with light armor and fewer hit points she'll be better at melee support than front line. At higher levels when her melee effectiveness begins to fall off she'll have more to offer in support and buff spells.

In typical bard fashion Sholti can serve back up in most roles, but doesn't really do any of them well enough to to be the go-to person for them. She can be a floater, doing whatever is most needed at the moment.

I'll get a gameplay post up tomorrow, hopefully in the AM.

Ok, I'm not a strategist so someone with more experience should come up with the plan of attack. I expect the building in the NW corner is more like a guard barracks? Is that white dotted line a fence? If we could first sneak in that door, possibly disable the ability to respond, then we could take the main building? Are the doors visible the only means of entry? Is there a skylight or roof access?

Yes that is a fence, so unless you broke it or tried to climb it, you wouldn't be able to easily access the NW building. There are no skylights, but the round portion does have 3 operational chimneys around the circumference. There are sealed windows around the building, think a manufacturing building with those high windows for light, but they don't open. Yes the doors on the map are the only means of entry.

If we could weaken the fence by using a few acid splashes tonight or something similar, then remove the fence part to make a gap we could squeeze through. Would be a nice idea. Horillo doesn't have much magic to help, unless you want to disguise the entrance with a bit of mist.

If not then we could do with a ruse, to go in the front door and try and get surprise. Might have more spells that could help with this on the cleric list at level 1, if you have an idea let me know.

I don't want to metagame-plan too much since I put my character to bed in-game, but I was going to suggest perhaps using disguises/magic to pose as Barzalai's "secret police" and forge a prisoner transfer document. Sorix has disguise self in her book and a decent linguistics score. We could purchase a disguise kit and all take 20 on our disguises before heading to the Salt Works.

Just an idea.

I could fake like the prisoner, won't need to disguise. I like the idea. Mawl is not much of a skill monkey so I wouldn't want to tax him too much. His idea would be to smash the fence then smash the door, then smash anything that moves.

Since we are in discussion...Have we decided to attack the small building first? And have we decided to go at night? Or...have we decided to attack the big building and go during the day? My guess is the disguise/fake prisoner is a during the day big building sort of thing. I'm afraid that would invite reinforcements from the small building, sort of right behind us. I am willing to bow to experience, just want to make sure we have thought it through. Sometimes it is about avoiding battles as much as fighting them, but I don't see it as avoidable at the salt works, at least not in the long run.

GM didn't mention the appearance of any Dottari or Hellknights, just this dwarf and maybe the mercenaries we heard about working there. I was thinking if I am going to be the "fake prisoner", I won't be able to carry my primary weapon and I will want to be able to use that when we get the ambush complete.

I was thinking instead of Mawl being a fake prisoner, we all pose as some kind of elite guards/secret police. That'd allow us to stay armed/armored. We can act like we're "more important" than the guards on duty. Not attack unless our cover gets blown. Maybe go there to do this in the evening?

Of course, if anyone doesn't like this plan I'm open to other ideas.

I don't have any firm ideas for the salt works past what I've already posted. I like forged docs and Message. Depending on the layout inside maybe an invisible Vendalfek can relay between front and back teams also?
