Garrik can handle the scroll but it will take 5' off his fly speed and drop his maneuverability by one step.
With the exception of the gate, the stone wall provides good cover for your team: its just over 10' tall.
As far as opposition goes, that's what perception checks are for :)
Yes, combat has started.

So it looks like we're dealing with:
a human fighter or paladin
a halfling rogue
a half-orc wizard or sorcerer
?
?
Brynn is going to get flanked this round, but might get an AOO if they're not careful, and the halfling is blinded (50% miss chance). The half-orc is hopefully entangled, which means he has to make a concentration check to cast next turn. Nice call with the glitter-dust targeting will saves. And curse that rogue evasion of the fireball.
Time to try and weather the retaliation!

Hrrm. I'm open to suggestions here for what Maedoc does. Debating between trying to disarm the human, daze the orc, or just haste our entire party. Any preferences? Currently leaning toward haste. I'll check back in and make my decision in 2 hours or so, if that's acceptable.
GM, if you'd prefer that we don't discuss this OOC while in combat, then I'll go ahead and post with Maedoc casting Haste.
Bryce Rosewood
Hopefully that does for the half-orc, between me and Maedoc.
Did anyone make the DC 25 perception check? Bryce didn't.
Looks like the halfling has crazy good AC. Brynn hit a 19, and the little dude was blinded which gives -2 AC and removes his dex bonus.
Looks like we're mixing it up pretty well so far. My thinking for next round is that Osslend, Brynn and Kayla keep on top of the two fighters, while Maedoc and Bryce work their way north to try and find the enemy book. Sounds good?
Ed Gentry
Okay, I think I'm confused about where the enemies are standing. I have the following:
Me: G10
Brynn: H10
Human Fighter: H9
Raleigh: G9
Virgil: I8
Halfling: I9 (sounds like he's moved if Sionnan healed him with touch)
Sionnan: I11
Orc sorcerer: ??
Bryce: E6
Maedoc: D10
Kayla: ??
Is this all correct? I have a feeling I've got the halfling and maybe the orc in the wrong places.

Well, that changes my plans for next turn! Curse that Entropic Shield - but at least the half-orc missed with his beam spell. I was going to head north, but with the wizard still up, and the enchantress out of hiding, that's no longer a good idea.
We need to incapacitate one or tow of them as soon as possible. then we can focus on fewer targets, and also take less damage inbound.
Useful magic stuff would be:
A Hold Person on the warrior
A Dispel Magic on the wizard
Open to suggestions for Bryce. Best option might be to keep shooting at the wizard - entropic shield is only a 20% miss chance. Or I could pick a new target? Not sure I can see the enchantress through all the combatants... she'd at least have some cover.
Any other ideas?

I have the Halfling at J10, the Orc at J7, and Kayla at E12 (just by the gate). Other than that, the numbers I have coincide with yours.
Hrrm. I can oblige with that Dispel, Bryce, but I'm thinking it might be worthwhile to save it and pop a haste right now, using it on Brynn, You, Osselend, and the dogs. That way, you can all take a full attack this round with an extra attack, and get the other benefits of Haste for the following 4 rounds (extra movement, bonus to AC, CMD, and Reflex). Might be enough to put the human, the orc, and maybe even Sionnan out of action.
Thoughts? I'll post my move tomorrow morning, assuming no complaints.
Also, apologies for late post--I saw Ed's earlier today and was waiting for a response.
Edit: To clarify, I was monitoring the threads, and didn't see any "new post" notifiers, which I generally use to poke my head in and make decisions. My bad.
Edit 2: And here's a link to Haste for the curious.

Here are my options if anyone cares to give their opinion:
hold person the fighter or halfling
dispel magic the half-orc
stick a spiritual weapon on the half-orc or the chick who can apparently heal.
As long as the shooter doesn't crit on me I can make it another round without healing myself again.
Osslend Abenier
Agree with Brynn. Haste will make short work of the human fighter and probably the halfling as well assuming we don't roll terribly.
As for Bryce and Kayla, I'm not sure who would be better to do it, but someone can ready an attack (either an arrow or a spiritual weapon, for instance) with the trigger condition of the half-orc casting. That way you've got a good chance to interrupt his spell and you still do damage. I might suggest Bryce simply because he can do more damage and that damage becomes the DC for the caster to overcome for the spell to go off. If that's the case, then Kayla can hold person or spiritual weapon the damnable healing woman.
Ed Gentry
Perfect use of Haste, Maedoc. We know Raleigh hit once (unconfirmed crit) and Osslend hit both times, I think. So that's another 37 damage to human fighter, putting him at 60+ taken. Virgil's attack of 20 might have hit, though I doubt it, so who knows...fighter man might go down.
Nice spiritual weapon choice, Kayla. Hopefully it can keep that healer locked down. Now we just need a nice hit on the orc and we should be in business.

Just for the record, my question about Sionnan's race was to help determine Favored Enemy attack bonuses.
Sneaky underhanded dwarf got the drop on me. Bryce has the quickdraw feat - will you allow him to make an AOO with one of his daggers? I think drawing the greatsword is too much, but a dagger, as he falls, seems realistic. Otherwise it's probably using his bow as an improvised club...
I'll let you decide before rolling.
Bryce Rosewood
Coolio. Dagger seemed more reasonable.
I'm a little fuzzy on combat maneuvers in general - can you walk me through the trip?
Bryce has CMD of 25 (24 base +1 AC bonus from Haste)
Dwarf rolled 23 for trip combat maneuver.
Did that hit because it was a critical, or because of some other bonus that I haven't thought of?
Thanks!

Normally, that wouldn't have hit because it did not match your CMD. However, a natural 20 is an auto success.

Alrighty...
First, I want to say that you guys are doing an excellent job. Secondly, I want to say that you are all very clever and have made some very strong characters. I am excited to test you further.
Third, and most important right now, I'd like ya'll to get into RP mode cause you're heading into some of that here in a bit. Moreover, we will have a 6th player joining us soon. He's my brother. He lives in California and I'm not sure what he's playing yet. I'm pretty sure he's going skill monkey though.
The questions is this: Would anyone feel cheated if I let him play a ninja? I know I said no UC and I'll stick to it if someone feels its unfair. If I do let him, UC content will be ok for future levels.
Let me know what ya'll think.

Hi DSP - just to confirm that I have absolutely no issue with you DMPCing Bryce for speed, particularly when you do cool stuff like that. I posted the comment about timing of my posts because it seemed like a good point to manage expectations; not as a coded complaint.
