It's probably my fault: giving them permissions and all...

male 1/2 Elf Sage Sor/Wiz 2 Gestalt

I've got it! If there's a water source nearby I'll cast Expedious retreat and haste to become a one man bucket brigiade. Then as more come to help I'll cast haste on them also as much as possible. That should keep the fire from spreading to other buildings. I may throw in a few celestials to help if I can think of how. That way I'm a hero in the eyes of the common folk. ... Plus they'll keep their distance. ;-) Sorry to make such a mess. I went with my gut reaction, but I think I can keep it from all falling apart.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Yep, it's all DSP's fault. We'll be good if he revokes his permission, otherwise you stay fairgame to be picked upon. :)

You can also feel free to pick back upon us.

Male Elf Monk 2/Ninja 4

Oh, it's all in good jest, Trebek. I've got thick skin from years of practice.

male 1/2 Elf Sage Sor/Wiz 2 Gestalt

Do celestial creatures understand Common?

Edit: or fiendish, for that matter?

Shadow Lodge

I would say celestials and fiends understand common, but creatures with the celestialor fiendish templates don't unless it says otherwise in the bestiary entry.

Shadow Lodge

Let's all shift and rag on Osslend for a while. We'll keep this equitable. I'll take my turn too, someday.

Crap, All I can summon is templates right now.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Here's another funny wedding story from work. One of my coworkers who plays WoW is moving up to Canada next month and marrying a guildmate. I think the amount of people at work who think she is crazy is the same amount as those who have no idea what WoW or D&D are.

Shadow Lodge

Wait, what? Has she ever met the guy in real life? I've heard of this happenening but never this first hand. I must understand.

Your actions are need in game master summoner. 8)

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

The first time she met him was just a few months ago when he bought her an airplane ticket to fly up and visit him and he proposed while she was there.

Shadow Lodge

I've seen that kind of relationship work and I've seen it fail. Best of luck to them.

For the record, WoW is a lovely game. Bringing people together since they chose to be nerdy enough to play WoW.

OMG a master summoner who knows the right languages would be fantastic right about now.

Alright my post is done. I think it's good. Hopefully We can get this mess cleared up without burning the entire town. Although if that one building and the bodies inside burn to the ground that'd be great. ;-)

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Yeah, it was fun for a few years. I enjoyed my undead prot warrior and troll priest. But I haven't gotten around to playing the new expansion yet so my characters are still just sitting at 80.

I hope it works out for them. It would suck to move to another country and then have it not work.

Shadow Lodge

True story.

LOL Cecil. I didn't read your last post here before I posted my response. Looks like everything worked out nicely.

HOLY CRAP! I couldn't have planned that better if I tried. Did the mayor join us at the tavern? I was considering giving some of the money back to the town to help them rebuild. I figure it will help keep them from asking uncomfortable questions.

On a related note I have a game world mechanics reason. Is owen effectively "in stasis" when he's on his home plane or is he mobile?

Edit: make that the late mayor's father. Is the late mayor's father with us in the tavern?

Shadow Lodge

He's not the mayor. Merely the oldest old guy. It's pretty plain that he talked it over with all the old guys first.

You do what you want with the money. Just make sure your team won't kill you for it :)

Why do you need to know about Owen?

Regarding owen,

I'm contemplating the most effective way to dispose of the body. lol I imagine it's like stasis. That seems the least game breaking, but your call.

Regarding the money,

I figure it won't be more than a hundred gold at most to get all these people nice and drunk. a single gold buys a lot of beer. Plus Cecil knows that he needs to garner as much good feeling as possible with these people. He needs to be beloved when he leaves. It couldn't hurt.

Shadow Lodge

I'm thinking stasis as well.

Like I said, do what you want with the money.

M Human

Sorry for just posting, home internet is goofing, posting this via my phone. I'm following along, just quietly until I get to work tomorrow

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Since Cecil is part of our team now, will our potential inability to repay the cost of resurrecting Dango affect him as well?

Since werewolve probably don't make good pets, maybe Kayla should take a pair of monks for pets instead? They can even sleep at the foot of her bed. :)

Who is the warrior chick going to go for, Cecil or Shinami?

If my posts ever seem a bit off, you can just assume I was too tired to make much sense.

I realize that everyone who works night shift is some level of crazy, but some of these people are just plain retarded.

Wow Cecil... Just wow. Nearly caught up on reading the mayhem and devastation, but have to sleep now before I pass out. Will be back tomorrow to post properly.

Love your work, gang.

Those shenanigans are the result of high Intelligence and charisma, but lacking in wisdom. ;-)

Once I find out about the dead men's families, or lack thereof, I can wrap up the immediate loose ends.

male 1/2 Elf Sage Sor/Wiz 2 Gestalt

Are the hatchets magic?

Shadow Lodge

When you have a private, you can cast detect magic. That plus a spellcraft check DC 16 will revealt these to be +1 Returning Silver Throwing Axes. Don't add the +1 to damage because silver weapons do -1 damage and they just cancel out.

male 1/2 Elf Sage Sor/Wiz 2 Gestalt

I have no idea what I'm going for with this chick. I guess I should be trying to sleep with her. Picking up women is not exactly my Forte'.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

You're doing fine. :)

Male Elf Monk 2/Ninja 4

Two returning Silver throwing Axes? Like you chuck it and it comes back to your hand?

Shinami Genbu wrote:

Yup. Those will come up in conversation after tonight.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

I figured we're waiting till we leave town to discuss the happenings that led to fire. Be kinda bad if anyone here overheard us. :)

Male Elf Monk 2/Ninja 4

Should I be proud or ashamed I beat a woman half my size in a fist fight? And dang it Cecil for cancelling the tourney! Brynn was just getting warmed up to take on the Eiffel Tower Twins.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Both?

Don't worry, Kayla's taking them on instead. ;)

1 person marked this as a favorite.
male 1/2 Elf Sage Sor/Wiz 2 Gestalt

What are you whining about?(Sarcasm) We got the purse, you got to beat up a girl, Kayla is the cross piece in a famous french structure and with any luck won't go insane from a very monastic case of syphilis, and everyone gets to be heroes as well as stinking drunk. Despite the odd turn of events we're leaving richer, with high reputations, and at least one of us gets to get her freaky deaky on. WINNING! ;-) Oh, and as an added bonus no one knows I inadvertently killed three men and covered it up with a fire that almost took out a small peasant village. yay.

Male Elf Monk 2/Ninja 4

AND you got fancy dancy throwing weapons. Drool.

As I don't think I'm even proficient we'll discuss those being re-distributed in due time.

Maybe I'll just buy some scrolls of cure disease? :)

So I have another odd question for the DM,

If I put the Muleback cord on Owen his strength for carrying is 24 (233ish lbs for a light load). Is it possible for him to pick me up and fly away? Granted it's not graceful or good for combat, but if we had to run an errand *cough*like dump a body*Cough* Could we travel that way for a little bit. Granted it would be unpleasant, undignified, and uncomfortable to be carried like a sack of potatoes, but would it be even possible?

Shadow Lodge

I'd rule that he could carry you in that way, but since you are the same size, you're awkward to carry as you say. Because of that, his movement speed is halved and neither of you get DEX to AC while moveing in this manner.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Could ya just feed the body to some werewolves? :)

male 1/2 Elf Sage Sor/Wiz 2 Gestalt
Kayla Adrianas wrote:

Considering it. Though he's trying to keep it from you guys also.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Aww, are you trying to protect us or just embarrassed?

For not lets call it plausible deniability in case he really is an agent of the crown.

male 1/2 Elf Sage Sor/Wiz 2 Gestalt

DM, I'm going to retry identifying the necromantic dagger every day (in private) until I know what it is. Just FYI.

Male Elf Monk 2/Ninja 4

Just double checking, but there's no point to having two axes that return after you chuck them right? Best to give 1 per person?

male 1/2 Elf Sage Sor/Wiz 2 Gestalt
Shinami Genbu wrote:

I believe so, but double check the returning property to see how quickly it comes back if you want multiple attacks per round.

Shadow Lodge

If you have two hands open, and two attacks, then you can throw both axes and they'll be back in your hands before your next turn. You can also just hit people with the axes...
