Keera Airbornt |
Well, I don´t think she deserves your help.
We can forget she´s a racist, who likes to drink. But if she´s drinking pricey whiskeys, she doesn´t is as poor as she told you. Even more, I could see she´s hiding some of the goods you give to her.
I´m unsure if Fosco told us what he heard from the kids. But he can say it from himself, and ask for more whiskey ;D
Sele the Thorn |
"Well firstly I detected the stains of Selfishness, avarice and greed on her soul. She is a drunkard and seems to be completely untrustworthy, my companions can tell of their findings"
GM Chyro |
Fortunately for Asami, by the time you get to the paladin, your 'skin condition' is gone. Though that weird merchant did walk into you again asking if you wanted to buy a white hat.
Fosco Whetherbee |
Fosco, filling in the information after being given leave to do so from the paladin talks a bit more excitedly than he had done before. Perhaps it was the alcohol that loosened him up a bit. "The children also say that they are being used for unpaid labor at fancy houses in the area. Auntie Baldwin is pocketing the money and the kids aren't getting any benefit from the work they do, not even fresh clothing."
Asami |
I don't know, will it look smurfy on me? People do say I look good in white.
Asami nods at the reports, careful to hide her own whiskey filled breath from the paladin.
GM Chyro |
Perception, smell: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Booyah!
The paladin looks upset at this news. With determination she stands up,
"By the light of Sarenrae, this will not continue. That woman will be apprehanded and behind bars this very day!"
*sniff...sniff*
"You two,, looking Asami and Fosco in the eyes. you smell of alcohol. Not the sort for cleaning to be specific. Sober up, i'm sure your friends can make sure of it."
She looks slightly disapproving, but then adresses you in general.
"Thank you, for undertaking this investigation. This matter will be dealt with today and my recommendations will be delivered to the venture captain. May the light of Sarenrae shine upon your journeys."
Last part tonight. Time for cooking and some studying.
Asami |
Crestfallen, Asami looks down as the paladin dresses her down. Better stay outside next time... Once dismissed, the swashbuckler hustles out of the paladin's presence, and visibly relaxes when Ollysta is no longer in sight (or earshot). The lady fox turns to Sele and gives her an appraising look. "Do all you godly types learn to scare people straight like that?" With a shrug and an eagerness to report mission accomplished, Asami quickly heads back to the Lodge with the group, the episode with Ollysta Zadrian soon forgotten.
GM Chyro |
With the business with the paladin concluded, you head back to the lodge. You have to make your way through the Foreign Quarter however.
A throng of people blocks the street ahead. A performance art group commandeers the street, drawing graffiti to create a jolly hellscape complete with illusory devils comically dancing around in circles. A few citizens avoiding the crowd slip offstreet through a nearby alley, the only egress past the gathering. You decide to take the alley too, since it's only a short distance to the lodge. Only barely in the alley, a sudden fog befalls you and the alley. People quickly rush out, afraid something is about to happen.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at the last encounter of the scenario. The battlefield has become, as the english would say, pea soup. Anything beyond 5ft has total concealment, 5ft has 20% miss chance.
Posting 2nd half of this post in a bit, connection is pretty bad atm and posts have been eaten.
Sele the Thorn |
"Some are more sanctimonius than others, I being a Paladin of Milani am a little more liberal than some others, I fight oppression not inflict it"
Sele gives Asami a smile.
If there is any healing I could use a little
After the smoke falls, Sele draws his Greatsword.
"Ware friends, this maybe an attack"
GM Chyro |
Surprise round for the villains. The perceptions on the road, which sadly you missed, allowed acting in the surprise round. Sele, i put you at max hp from Baltwin's aid.
Lark 1 Led 2: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Thrown dagger: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 3 - 4 = 1 %?: 1d100 ⇒ 23

A crazed halfling wielding a greataxe pops up in front of Sele.
"HUAAAAAAH!! For spoils & slaughter!!"
Greataxe, rage, PW: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 1 = 22 Dmg: 1d10 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15 Hit?: 1d100 ⇒ 31

Round 1
Nym senses the danger in the attack, and true to his form, he begins casting a summoning spell to bring forth an ally to help fight the battle. As he casts, he steps back 5' also.
Casting Summon Monster 1, but at caster level 5 due to Master of Pentacles trait.
GM Chyro |
As Nym starts to summon a creature, the voice belonging to the one named Deandra says: "Okay, good boy, you can manage for now can't you?
But remember, do NOT kill left and right, or you'll be a eunich for the rest of your life."
Deandra & Larkin keep to a position further up the alley.

You guys are up.
Asami |
Not sure how to handle Asami and Sele. As the barbarian approached, he should only take one of us out, not both. Desperately grasping at anything to improve our odds here.
GM Chyro |
Uber retcon on my bad, Asami still stands then.
*Takes painkiller for mistake-headache*
Asami |
Vision's of her own demise flashes before the swashbuckler's eyes, and she takes a deep breath as she realizes it is her comrade Sele that went down.
Asami swallows, draws her rapier and makes a flicking motion towards the undersized brute before her.
Rapier: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Sele the Thorn |
Assuming we start again from here
Sele notices the attacker from previously
Assuming the fog has fallen
Sele draws his sword ready to attack and calls out
"We are under attack, Get out of the fog now , move straight back now"
Sele is deliberately not moving out so that anyone coming through can't just get to his companions.
Nym Nightshade |
A bit unclear on what's happening, can we get a reset please?
Keera Airbornt |
I´m with Nym, a reset will be good, cause I´m not sure if Sele is down, or if he see the hostiles. Also I´m going to make the Perception rolls not done before:
Keera Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Keera Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 ->He has the defend trick, so even if he can´t alert us, he could act if I´m attacked
GM Chyro |
Aye, reset.
As the group heads into the alley to get around the blockade of spectators, Sele notices a redhead he saw briefly spying on them earlier the day. A sudden fog befalls the alley and all people in the alley, save you and her along with 3 others, make haste to get out.
Sele is the only one spotting the villains prior to the fog coming down, because his perception check earlier the day.
Surprise round villains:
Sele gets the opportunity to act and he warns the rest something is amiss.
Sele cannot be caught FF this round.
Villains move, the halfling pops up in front of Sele.
"For spoils & slaughter!"
Asami: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Fosco: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Fosco Whetherbee |
Not knowing what was going on, Fosco blanched a bit when the fog came down. He did receive an order from the front to go back, so go back he did. He backed out of the fog and prepared for whatever he might be able to do to help in the situation.
Fosco would move back another 10' from the position he's in, and ready an action to summon something on top of any enemy that comes through. Otherwise, he's not doing anything else. There's no one that he can see.
Nym Nightshade |
Round 1
When his turn comes around, Nym will still Summon Monster 1, using his Master of Pentacles ability.
GM Chyro |
I...don't think you can summon something 'onto' an occupied square, as a surprise gift. Taking distance is fine however.
Nym Nightshade |
I...don't think you can summon something 'onto' an occupied square, as a surprise gift. Taking distance is fine however.
Would summon into the square marked with an X unless that one is occupied by the time the summoning fires. I will choose an eagle as my summoned monster.
GM Chyro |
That is a roof, i cannot imagine that square occupied by the villains. But seems legit for an eagle. ;)
Asami |
Asami, warned just in time by her paladin ally, draws her rapier and flicks it at the approaching barbarian.
Rapier: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 67
However, a sickening sensation overcomes her from the deja vu feeling, and Asami's pierce with the rapier does little against the villain.
Parry and Riposte between rounds.
Parry: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
If higher than attack roll:
Riposte: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Ambush round 1, take 2
Fosco decides to take heed of Sele's warning and takes distance.
Asami & Sele both make their swings at the crazy halfling, but both times he dodges.

Ledford swings back with his greataxe at Sele. Swing, rage, PA: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 1 = 23 Dmg: 1d10 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15 Hit?: 1d100 ⇒ 40

Alacorta kill him!!! Shouts Keera.
Alacorta makes a 5 steep over Sele and proceeds to tear up the little berserker.

talon critical threat: 1d1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 101d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Even with Alacorta helping us, we´ll need more reinforcments.Thinks as she starts to summon another eagle.
My eagle is the X with a k inside. I selected the alternate racial trait of air insight, but haven´t written before, so we can dont use i if you want
GM Chyro |
It was on your sheet wasn't it? :)
Between a loose acidic projectile, obscure movement, taunting and Nym starting to summon an eagle, the round comes to a close.
Fosco decides to take heed of Sele's warning and takes distance.
Asami & Sele both make their swings at the crazy halfling, but both times he dodges.
"HAHAHAHA, LOOOOSERRSSS!"
Ledford swings back with his greataxe at Sele.
The halfling's greataxe comes down onto Sele's shoulder and he goes KO. 'stache hops up and down.
Keera starts summoning a creature, while her Roc's right talon draws blood.
"Bad bird!! Bad Bird!! There's a big bird flying just above me!"
Halli: "Teehee, my turn, i hope i ruin a face, teehee." Acid ray: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 Dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Hit?: 1d100 ⇒ 34
A ray of corrosive acid flies from the mist, crossing the space between the group. It leaves a straw basket near to Nym in a smoldering state.
Larkin keeps to his spot with a readied action.
Nym start to summon an eagle.
Deandra moves somewhere within the mist, also keeping an action.
"Ledford, if at all possible, avoid chopping bits left and right. I prefer them alive. You pathfinders won't win this day, surrender or i'll let Halli have her way with you!"
The high psychotic laughter returns."Pwweeeaasse resists."
Ambush round 2

Nym Nightshade |
Since the eagle will be able to have combat in three dimensions, will the obscuring mist have the same miss chances from above? Assume so, but wanted to check
Asami |
"Over your dead body." Asami replies as she strikes out with her rapier, hoping to draw blood with the follow-up stab.
rapier: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 43
If attacked in melee:
Parry: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
If higher than attack roll:
Riposte: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 67
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Asami prefers to stay alive. So over Ledford's dead body is clearly the right response. :P
GM Chyro |
Weren't you supposed to say "over my dead body? You've cut off the point for witty responses. :)

Nym finishes casting his summon spell, then casts Grease directing the slippery goo at the feet of the halfling and the red-head.

He takes a random swing. Greataxe, rage, PA: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 - 1 = 16 Dmg: 1d10 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12 Hit?: 1d100 ⇒ 22 (rage 4/6 left)

Meanwhile the summoned eagle attacks the nearest opponent.

And Keera casts Flare on the halfling DC 13 and picks his scimitar to join the fight as soon as she can.
GM Chyro |
The sudden eagle's appearance gets a few responses.
Deandre "Ledford, keep your *&*&$ birds to yourself."
Larkin "This not be the kin a birds a fancy goin' afta'."
Despite it's biting and talon swiping at the two, no hit connects.
Fort vs flare: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
"Hey, who did that? Whoever did that will pay!"
With a lot of eagle attacks, 2 less eagles, a greasy floor and a pityful clw, we close round 2.
Ambush round 2
Fosco summons an eagle to appear from the sky to attack Ledford.
Ledford is hit for another 3 dmg.
Asami makes a jab at Ledford, but the mist and his height are working against her.
Sele misses the stabilize, bleeds to -5.
Ledford (-7)"More birds! I hate those birds *&^$&!"
He takes a random swing. Fosco's eagle is chopped bird.
Keera flares Ledford, but the crazy barbarian resists. Eagle & Roc attack head on, but fail to connect a single attack.
