Elena Lovain |

"Knock out a window in the back, eh? Sounds like a plan. We aren't accomplishing anything by standing out here all day."

Elena Lovain |

"Get it boys. This is too quiet...soemthing sketchy is happening. I can just feel it!"

Elena Lovain |

Oh no. I hate that giggling!
"Well, there goes the element of surprise. Let's go find Ameiko!"

GM Bold Strider |

A furnace burns along the southeast wall of this room. Marble tables sit in the chamber, used to work raw glass into usable shapes, with nearby wooden tables cluttered with various tools of the trade. The building's furnace rumbles loudly, penalizing Perception checks with a -4 penalty.
The main furnace burns at the northeast end, a large chamber that utilizes alchemically treated wood that burns with a hot blue light. As the furnace's stone pipes run southwest, they reach smaller and progressively cooler furnaces used to keep glass-working projects at the proper temperature-glass shatters if it's allowed to cool too quickly.
When Broon opens the door, this room is a gruesome display of goblin boredom. The bodies ofthe eight murdered staff lie in various stages of dismemberment; the goblins have been burning legs and arms in the furnace with glee, and pouring melted glass on the remains. A body is propped up in a chair in the central alcove and encased in thick, runny sheets of hardened glass. It appears to be Lonjiku, though you can't be entirely sure from this distance.
A young man appears to be sitting on a table, examining a letter. The goblins pay him no mind.

Elena Lovain |

How many goblins are there, DM?
"Look out, there's goblins about, you fool! Are you Ameiko's brother? Where is she?"

Torg Maran Gor |

Ah, good to know. I see him now.
Torg, sensing the danger from the goblins, reaches into his coat pocket and removes the corked metal flask. Red vapors float out of his nostrils in a hazy cloud after he imbibes the liquid. His muscles bunch and tighten, his chest expands to push against his armor, claws burst forth from his knuckles, and his teeth sharpen into needle-like daggers. Finally, he tries to carefully slide his great-axe out of the sheath at his back to avoid making any noise.
+4 strength, -2 intelligence, +2 intimidate skills, +2 natural armor, two primary claw attacks (1d6), one primary bite attack (1d8)

Initiative 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Torg Maran Gor |

Pre-surprise round -- Squeeze into Broon's square; Surprise round - Can I charge, or is it impossible to actually attack them in melee during the surprise round?
Torg creeps up close to the door, waiting for it to be opened. He will spring onto the nearest goblin when the door opens, attacking with all of his weapons and raging.

Elena Lovain |

Elena's ready. You all should delay until Elena goes and starts Inspire Courage for the bonus to hit and damage.

Broon |

I was thinkin that Inspire Courage would be pre-buffs but I guess singing is probably not the same as 1st level incants. Doesn't make much sense to lose a standard surprise for a delayed +1 buff in the next round.
So let's make it in order:
Dashun opens door
Torg charges
Broonm shoots
Elena sings
if no objections- Broon moves in, steps onto a table and shoots at a goblin not being tackled by Torg
Point-Blank,Precise,high ground: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 19 >>damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
Active:Gravity Bow 5/6, Shield 6/6, Verdant Gain Verdant AC 3/3

GM Bold Strider |

Singing would definitely be bad before the surprise round.
Like I said, can't charge in the surprise round since the square with the door doesn't give LoS to any goblins. If Torg and Dashuun squeeze into the square, then Broon and Elena can't as well. Technically, you can't end your movement in a square with someone else, but I'll allow two people to squeeze pre-combat.
As I see it, Dashuun can open. The rest of you can move into the room. OR Dashuun can open. Broon is squeezing with him and he 5' steps to fire off an arrow. Torg and Elena move in.
Finally, you get a standard or a move action in the surprise round. You wouldn't be able to move onto a table and fire in the surprise round.

Elena Lovain |

Why not let Elena open the door, so both Broon and Dashuun can get an attack off? Then Elena can sing on her next round action.

Torg Maran Gor |

Ok, I will advance and stand next to Broon to make it more difficult for the goblins to flank us.

GM Bold Strider |

GM Adjudication:
In an act of surprise, the adventurers burst through the door. Dashuun pulls the door open as Broon steps in and fires off an arrow at one of the goblins. It bypasses the goblin's heavy armor and severely wounds the greenskin.
Elena and Torg rush into the room as well to provide a multitude of targets.
Initiative:
Broon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Elaina: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Dashuun: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Torg: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Human: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Goblins: 1-4: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Goblins: 5-8: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
The severely wounded goblin trips over his own foot and stumbles into the open furnace next to him, incinerating the stubby humanoid almost immediately.
The rest of the goblins begin to freak out! BAD LONGSHANKS ARRIVAL! GROGGLE! YOU BE WATCHING DOOR! Another goblin yells back. NURGLE S'POSE TO WATCH DOOR!
The goblin closest to you chucks a piece of glass at Torg but misses. It clatters to the ground, shattering.
The goblin just behind him flips a table to protect the two of them. HIDE BEHIND WOOD FROM LONGSHANKS!
The rest of the goblins rush forward with a few more chucking glass fixtures.
The man chuckles. I guess my sister wasn't as quiet as she thought... The man slowly shimmers from view.
Initiative:
1st: Human-Not Visible; Goblins (#1; #3; #4; #5; #6; #7; #8)
2nd: Torg @ 23/23 HP; Elena @ 15/15 HP; Broon @ 20/20 HP; Dashuun 15/15 HP

Elena Lovain |

Elena starts her Inspire Courage ability (telling a story about how she and her brave friends saved the town from the goblins not so long ago), and holds her ground, waiting for the goblins to get closer.
+1 to hit and damage! Round one of ability.

Dashuun |

Dashuun orders Maze on the attack and moves into the room, climbing onto the table and closing in. double move
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Climb: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 11
Well, assuming that climb check actually works anyway.
Maze arrives at a pile of spikes on the floor and looks confused, circling and barking at Dashuun.
