Maaarv spends his morning mixing up some extracts to pass out. "Alright, this devil sounds dangerous, so I thought I'd make up some liquid help."
He hands out a bottle of pale green ichor to each of his fellow Pathfinders. The bottle is labeled with a simply line drawing of a shield.
"This is an extract of shield. It will only last 6 minutes, so don't drink it yet. But it may just provide us with that extra bit of protection we'll need to keep safe."
He hands Obyrn and Baldwyn each another bottle. Each of these contain a liquid of a deep umber and are labled 'BS'. "Here we have an extract of bull's strength, for you guys. Again, it will last 6 minutes, so don't drink it yet. It will help you with your stabbing and slicing."
Maaarv loads up his bandolier with his four vials of holy water, his extracts of see invisible and shield, and his mutagen.
"Well, gents. I'm ready whenever you are."

Obyrn accepts the vials from the alchemist with a quiet nod. Thanks Maaarv!
"I am ready as well. Let us finish this."

Bludgeon?

GM Bold Strider |

It takes the Pathfinders less than a day’s travel to reach the chapel north of Katheer. On a lonely promontory overlooking the sea, the memorial chapel of Ubaidah Abd-Hikmah presides over the gravestones of Sarenrae’s faithful. Scoured clean by the restless winds near the sea, many of the stones’ inscriptions are as forgotten as their inhabitants. The forlorn cries of gulls drift on the breeze. The ancient chapel’s iron doors stand closed, but fresh scrapes mar their rusted metal.
You hear the sounds of pry bars and hammers inside the chapel.

Maaarv drinks his mutagen, choking down the sickly-sweet concoction. He listens at the door.
"Well, let's do this," he whispers to his companions. He drinks down his extract of shield and opens the door dramatically.
GM, I've noted the changes to my AC in my runner. Also, please note that my initiative modifier is +5 while the mutagen is active.

Baldwyn also imbibes the alchemist's offerings raising his strength and defenses.

"Wait!" the rogue whispers hoarsely, "it might be trapped!" He gives the door a lookover -- twice, to be thorough.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
If not trapped, Obyrn chugs his infusions and (handing the purchased scroll to Narvik) gives the go-ahead to the wild-eyed Maaarv.

![]() |

Narvik will cast the spell on the scroll (assuming Obyrn wishes me to do so now) and will also cast Bless just before the party enters the room.

![]() |

I'll leave that up to you and your action economy -- we can't be certain whether it will be useful or not, though prior evidence suggests so.

![]() |

I'm happy to have bless first and the scroll after we see what's inside, but again I happily leave that decision up to you.

GM Bold Strider |

The group opens the door and sees several creatures busily desecrating the isolated chapel of the honored high priest. Ibn-Chadli and his servants have manufactured ample “proof” that the Pathfinders are to blame. A broken wayfinder lies buried among upended stonework and empty bottles of Farendir’s favorite wine litter the floor. Tools lie scattered about, each bearing the mark of an Absalom smithy. Spare crates stand in one corner, marked for delivery to “Faireven” at the Pathfinder Society in Absalom.
Greetings, Pathfinders! proclaims Ibn-Chadli. I was expected you after my familiar spotted you on the road. Almost as if on queue, an owl flutters through the window and lands on his shoulder. What is extremely creepy is that these assistants of his look exactly like Baldwyn and Maaarv, only much larger. I expected the rogue and the half-orc to have perished... Oh well, I guess you will all die here.

"You'll pay for what you've done!" Maaarv cries out, referring to his unpleasant night in jail.

It doesn't once I actually look at the map and see how far away I am, lol.
Obyrn rushes forward, longspear at the ready.

What's the Will Save, Narvik. (Too lazy to calculate it myself.)

Watching his bomb fly wide, Maaarv decides to pick the larger target. He floats backwards a bit, mixes up yet another frost bomb and tosses it at the large, rogue-ishly handsome large person that Obyrn can't quite seem to stab.

Going to revise action economy, here...
Maaarv chucks another frost bomb at DoppleMaaarv, dispelling the illusion and revealing an ogre that has crumpled to the ground.
Baldwyn charges the sorcerer and unleashes a devastating blow with his sword, killing the man instantly.
