OK. If that's the case, I'm going to have Molly craft my crossbow -- saving me 4,000 gp -- and buy a melee weapon, which I'll ask her to enchant too on the road, also for 4,000 gp.
We'll get a single additional wand of CLW using 750 gp from Chwaer's 1,761 gp contribution. Chwaer, you can keep the rest.
I'll keep my remaining 6,623.53 gp and maybe pick up a few consumables once we get going again.
GM, I think we're as ready as we're going to be.

Pyrrhus Durst |

Finished all my shopping as well!

Sander Thistlewight |

Since we didn't bother buying wands, I'm going to use some of that money to buy scrolls to add to my formula book: scroll of absorbing barrier, assume appearance, greater darkvision and greater false life. (-2800 gp).
Also, as noted, since no one else did anything with Molly's crafting, I decided to also get a giant-bane morningstar, just as a backup in-case weapon. Think I'm all fitted out now for more adventures.
--
I'm also going to say I spent some time crafting of my own, and made a half-dozen doses of antitoxin (150 gp), 2 doses of smelling salts (25 gp), and 10 doses of soothe syrup (125 gp)

DM Bigrin |

Let me ask this...How did you scout? I gave you all the info you could glean from the air without being spotted. Anything else will require a detailed plan, and some rolls.
For instance: Chwaer will sneak up the mountain in the dark, climb the palisade, sneak across to the slave pens, and take a good long look.
Rolls required: stealth (at least 1), climb, stealth (at least 1), perception
I'm not trying to be a hardass here, and this is more easily covered in the freeform of a live game, but this is a sandbox. I need details of your actions so I can fit them into my framework.

Chwaer Moltengem |

After we landed, Storn told me (or anyone sneaky) to go take a look. I said I would and rolled a Stealth and Perception but not any details beyond that since I didn't know where we landed. That was also before most of the slave talk.
Added some climbing, stealth, and escape artist to see if there are tight spaces we might be able to utilize. Unfortunately, I don't have disable device so I ignored the locks themselves for now.

Storn of Gorum |

Yeah that's reasonable. I think we start with the slaves in the fields since Storn's entire goal here is to kill the supply lines. Field workers are gonna cut off food supplies so we can sayh that the group is camped out somewhere safe but nearby while Chwaer explores.

Pyrrhus Durst |

Not sure if I'm overthinking the situation... I know that some APs are not really well thought on some aspects, but I'm not sure this is one of them.
Also, I won't argue forever. If the plan is to free the slaves, Pyrrhus will join of course.

Storn of Gorum |

Nah feel free to disagree! Storn is very deliberately played to find something easy and obvious and punch it and he is not smart. Although discussing plans in PbP can be tedious having a thorough discussion about our guerrilla campaign is important.

Sander Thistlewight |

I think let's start by sneaking in to just talk to them, though that might mean leaving some people (*cough* Storn *cough*) behind. (Which I know isn't fun in PBP, but not sure how good he can be at sneaking.)
I have invisibility to get us in and out. I also have disguise self, though it doesn't sound like the giants are watching closely enough to need to use that (though we could at some point have Storn enlarge and let him use that to pretend to be a giant? Something to keep in mind).
I'm also not sure what happened to Molly. She hasn't posted in more than two weeks, though her player is posting in other games.

Pyrrhus Durst |

As an alternative we could all try to talk to the slaves. If the wolves or a couple giants attack us, we kill them and retreat. If there is no survivors to rouse the other badies, we can always try again another night or from another point of entrance. This way no one is left behind.

Molly Blackfoot |

Guys, first off: my apologies for my absence. I've lost a lot of gaming steam over the past year, what with one thing and the other. No, I haven't personally suffered the pandemic, no one I know has had it that I'm sure of, I just get upset by the news of what's going on out there. And then I find distractions. Also, there's been other stuff getting me down.
It's not much of an excuse, I know. I shall try to do better.
Second: welcome to Pyrrhus. I hope you'll enjoy the AP. This is a fun crew. ^_^ Also: optimized, shmoptimized.
Third: Chwaer, I don't have a portable cabin, but I can cast Secure shelter every evening.
Fourth: I'll do my best to get my purchases to DM Bigrin by wednesday.

DM Bigrin |

[ooc]Hey guys, sorry I've been quiet all week. It's been very busy, and I've had a couple of huge milestones to lead up to and prep for (one of which was completing my very first AP as a GM).
Right now I am looking at two developed plans. One, sneak into the fields and talk with the slaves there. Two, sneak into camp and stampede the mammoths. Both are great ideas. Which one do you want to do first?

Pyrrhus Durst |

I believe Molly will sneak and stampede the mammoths while the rest of us will sneak towards the slaves, using the stampede as a distraction in order for us not enter the place with only rags.
This way, if we find some resistance, we can possibly fight them without drawing the whole camp's attention.

Storn of Gorum |

Famous last words. I'm still for the plan. lol

DM Bigrin |

Hey guys, sorry I've not moved this forward yet.
As some of you know, I recently wrapped up my Second Darkness AP here on the paizo forums, and it has impacted me far more than I expected. After 8 years of near daily posting, wrapping that one up has kind of killed my forward momentum for creativity, which is impacted this game, which is basically a giant (heh-heh) sandbox game.
That said, I am coming out of it and want to build steam, so hold onto yer butts!

DM Bigrin |

I added an continually updating Skirgaard camp map link in the campaign entry. As you scout and learn more about the camp, you will be able to fill in entries in the map.
For example, your scouting forays so far have identified watchtowers, the slave pens, the mammoth stables, and the giant encampment.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Congrats on finishing an AP! That's a huge accomplishment. Hoping I can do the same with Carrion Crown :D

Pyrrhus Durst |

Regarding Ghost Sound, I DO believe it would make a loud enough sound, as at level 10 it would be a something equivalent to the sound of 40 humans can make... however, everyone gets a Will DC which would be pretty low as a 0 level spell so the chance of it fooling anyone with be minimal.
Since Pyrrhus doesn't know the spell and it is not on the list of any others in the party, it is a pointless discussion anyway.

Storn of Gorum |

Sorry guys life is crazy please put me on autopilot until Monday.

Sander Thistlewight |

FYI, I'll be out of town, and probably not posting Tuesday-Saturday (I will have my cellphone, so I might check occasionally, but I find it far too cumbersome to do a full post on mobile).
I added some details about my combat plans to make it hopefully easier to bot me. Macros are in my character sheet.

Storn of Gorum |

Storn - IS BACK! Uh, lemme catch up.

Storn of Gorum |

Storn does not have a stealth modifier of +15 or higher, lol. He'll just be placed where GM says.

Pyrrhus Durst |

This is the first battle you'll have with Pyrrhus, so I thought it would be nice to share with you some important points about his combat abilites:
Powerful but Limited Range Performances: Pyrrhus songs are transmited trough vibrations on the ground, so it only affects friends and enemies within a 30ft radius (unless the target has tremorsense, which bumps it to a 1000ft!). However, he can both buff his allies and debuff his enemies at the same time.
Teamwork: Pyrrhus main buffing performance will give you all teamwork feats, which will be Outflank and Improved Outflank. With them, the flanking bonus increases to +4 and the actual flanking ticks whenever two friends are threatening the same foe (no need to be on oppsite sides).
Buffs: Nothing really different here, but Pyrrhus buffs have limited range, so it is better if you all stick within 30 feet of him.
All this means that we can be deadly if we don't split in different directions. In this combat, since Chwaer moved herself west, I believe it would be better if we follow her ASAP.

Pyrrhus Durst |

@GM Bigrin: Since we are ambushing them, assumed we can buff ourselves freely, thus cast Good Hope and Haste on everyone. If only one is allowed, would pick Haste as it is more important now to catch up with our foes.
