"Explore door! Exp-door!"

Open door!

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

Thunderstealer can tell that the door is slightly ajar, just BEGGING to him to open it.

The large room has a wide hole in the center of its floor. A heavy, welded steel ladder descends straight down from this lip of this shaft to the next level when we're done!. The extent and depth of this space below are concealed behind the many crisscrossing spider webs filling the pit.

GM Dice:

Moon Spider 1 Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Moon Spider 2 Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Can we get that part of the map uncovered?

Nilfyr peers over Thunderstealer's shoulder into the room ahead. "More spiders?" he says, nonplussed.

Nilfyr steps into the room and looks into the pit.

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

As Nilfyr approaches, the web starts shaking. Lurking from some webbing near the pit, another large spider, hiding in the silky cover, lurches out towards him!

No surprise round as Nilfyr beat the spiders' stealth, who noticed him upon entry with their tremorsense.

The aggressive spider makes its move first, moving up and biting at Nilfyr.

@Artemus: redirecting the eagle attack to the other spider

Kristoff moves up, softening up the spider for Thunderstealer's powerful blow that nearly splits the carapace in two.

Belcher and the eagle meanwhile move towards the other spider that's approaching a dead-end wall, biting and clawing it.

Calling combat, when you guys hit... you hit hard!

Other than Nilfyr's bite, the party makes easy work of the pair of spiders.

Nilfyr Fort vs DC 15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Str Damage on failure: 1d3 ⇒ 1

He ends up resisting the rest of the poison.

And with this, you guys are done! I'll try to get Chronicles out today, but if not, then they'll be out Monday.

The entire level basically cleared out (other than spiders hiding in pits you can avoid now), the party sees a dark tunnel and ladder to reach a floor below. Where will it take them? Who is the Klarkosh mentioned by Gorloth? How much deeper does the Spire reach? Stay tuned for Emerald Spire 3: Splinterden!

Dark Archive

Can we start part III after GenCon? That way I can use him to play a few scenarios at PaizoConUK and GenCon (I'll go slow, so in tier for the next level!)

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

I can acquiesce to that. Just make sure your XP is even level or something (9, 12, etc), Auke, so you can pop out of slow tier (unless that gets updated in the next guide).

So I assume you want normal progression for this level this so we have a level 3 Thunderstealer stealing people's thunder?

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

Hey guys! Game is finally reported and chronicles have been sent!

I did forget to ask for Day Jobs, so if you have 'em I'm trusting you to add it correctly.

I'll continue with some RP stuff for a bit until after GenCon, then we'll continue with Splinterden!

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

Just a minor interest check to make sure everyone's still good. Thanks for waiting and we'll get started in a couple more weeks.

I'll start some RP stuff within a day or two.

Still need to update, but I'll be ready when the game starts.

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

@Kristoff: Also, when you update your stats, can you add a quick stat bar in the Class or Race portion of the profile like the others? Saves me some trouble looking for stuff to roll against![/ooc]

Grand Lodge

Yeah, no problem. I plan on updating this weekend I will put my AC and stuff. I always leave class out on purpose, because I believe it should be based on the character concept not the class.

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

No worries on that, got a few people in my area that are like that for their PCs in live games, too.

I'm glad your build doesn't seem to be affected by the new ACG errata.

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

The party has waited in Fort Inevitable for a couple of weeks as they await Thunderstealer's return from a pilgrimage. This has given the party some much needed rest and time to get to know the citizens of the fort town as well as pick up on some interesting gossip.

Each person can give me a Diplomacy or Kn: Local roll!

The Society has sent back a missive, only explaining that the team's goal is still the same and that they should return to exploring the underground ruins once more when the party is fully assembled again.

Anything you wish to do in town during this period? This is outside of the Dip/Kn: Loc roll above.

@Thunderstealer: I'll play Level 4 by ear.

Thunderstealer arrives back at Fort Inevitable with a smile on his face and probably some burning wreckage laying around out there.

Nilfyr oddly has few people willing to talk to him. Artemus, however, has far more luck.

Recently, bandits have been plaguing the area, almost more so since the goblins have been removed as a threat. Furthermore, the random undead strikes have still been occurring at no change in their frequency.

Bandits huh? What an opportunity for a bandit hunter of Abadar to join in this adventure. I've been divinely commissioned to keep the roads clear and protect trade. Not to mention it looks like you lot could use someone more subtly inclined...
Faeros Ticaret, at your service.

Off into the sky, a cloud in the shape of a red mantis can be seen. Kristoff quickly apologizes to the group and leaves, still leaving the party at meddling humans, a half-elf, and their little dino, too.

Feel free to toss in any RP, but just moving forward to the dungeon room to get started!

The party reassembled, they make their way to the spire. Oddly, despite the claims of bandits, there are few, if any, new tracks that lead back towards the spire. Heading down the stairs once more, there is no notable sign of human footprints, although there is some more webbing here or then in the basement from the spiders that escaped the party's wrath.

Climbing down the iron ladder in adjacent to the spider nesting room, the group continues their descent...

Dark Archive

And down we go!

Fort Inevitable Map map Gardens map

Broad stone stairs open into a small irregularly shaped chamber lit by oil lamps. To the east, a short flight of steps leads up to a sturdy door set in the middle of a wall and flanked by arrow slits. To the north, a wide gate of iron bars blocks an archway leading to a larger chamber filled with the eerie green glow of the Emerald Spire.

I'm not sure how you guys like to clear a dungeon, since I'm new. If we come across traps I can try to disable them, and if we are lacking in scouts, I can also fill that role if needed. Otherwise, I would prefer not to take point if it can be helped.

Technically it's the eastern most door; given the compass rose on the map. I marked where the bolts and voices came from on the map.
