Ok so we are wanting the two we get to help with the performances first and fore most. Which is why I suggested the the maid, the seamstress, and singer. Functionally they fit people who could help best with that.

I do not want the easily angered Bouncer. And a Pit fighter is not likely to be even tempered. Mercenaries are not know for loyalty. And Nobles are difficult to deal with.

I am not opposed to the thief.

The squire might be an option. Possibly strong, not prone to backstabbing, and used to a crappy life.

What do our Gnomes want?

I was more thinking that we could use more muscle in our group and a rogue in these situations could be useful.
I am not sure if we are going to try to escape at some point, but those two could help in that instance, along with more mundane tasks; such as setting up, disassembling, and other theatre labors.

I'm ok with any of the candidates, as they'll all provide hooks and be either as useful or useless as the Gm wants them to be. Pick the ones you think are interesting. In general the thief and the mage are probably the most versatile professions, but the steady seamstress might be great just as a boost to 'our NPCs don't do something brashly stupid that bites us' factor.

=p

I have no issue with the idea of a thief but he views our captives as marks and that concerns me. I am ok with some more muscle since they have lots of uses. Mostly I do not want to suffer if they do dumb things. That and Dougal and Ren put forward the ones they would pick not necessarily what i would pick.

I am going out of town this weekend, friday to sunday, and I have no idea if I will have wifi or the time to post so bot me if need be.

Yeah, I was trying to avoid the thief and easily angered people.
But GM seems to think we agreed on mercenary and thief for some reason.

I do not want the easily angered

I'm ok with whichever, since how annoying/awesome they are is mostly on the GM. I'd avoid 'quick to anger' because rescuing our NPCs is bleh.

female human NG Level 6 Lotus Geisha Bard / Bardic Perform 19 rnds per day / Init +1, HP 42 / AC 17, T 16, FF 11 / Fort +4, Ref +6. Will +6 / BaB +4, CMB +4, CMD 15 / Per +7 /

I agree with Coranthillion. I really do not want the thief.

By the way, could everyone please add their stat lines to their profile fields so it appears above their posts? Include initiative, saves, HP, AC and CMD please.

To be noted I am still missing feats with this PC. I am just not finding any that I like. Not sure if I want to go with the step up and strike line, tripping, disarming, or grab one or two ranged feats for options.

Weapon focus, weapon spec, combat reflexes.
Or, if you have lots of spare feats, I'd suggest the Eldritch Heritage line and get a familiar. The Envoy archetype is terrifyingly good.

That might be an option. Gotta look into that. I should have it figured out after I get some sleep. I have edited the rolls since I realized Bards help with that.

Of course.

Ok so the SRD has this to say on the Blinded condition.
The creature cannot see. It takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class, loses its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any), and takes a –4 penalty on most Strength- and Dexterity-based skill checks and on opposed Perception skill checks. All checks and activities that rely on vision (such as reading and Perception checks based on sight) automatically fail. All opponents are considered to have total concealment (50% miss chance) against the blinded character. Blind creatures must make a DC 10 Acrobatics skill check to move faster than half speed. Creatures that fail this check fall prone. Characters who remain blinded for a long time grow accustomed to these drawbacks and can overcome some of them.

Oh right, obscuring mist plus glitterdust, sorry.

Yeah, blinded sucks; you can make another save at the end of your turn.

Blinded is brutal, and why glitterdust is a good spell. Luckily it's not the earlier version - you get some extra saves.

Probably going to need to call it here.

Coran, Yano, still with us?

I am not opposed to getting another player in the game. I was just curious if you had one lined up or were going to reopen recruitment.

I likely will, just want to see if anyone objects to introducing them via retcon.

They could have easily been already in the group of captives.

No complaint. Add whoever via retcon.

Hey guys! Looks like Meisha here is your replacement actor. Stage-wise, she's The Understudy. Shapeshifting is handy and all. Her real job, though, is a scene manager. Making things. It's pretty fun for her. I feel like she'd probably fit better as one of the other NPCs; I have misgivings about trying to retcon someone in to everyone's pasts after you all have had a couple pages of RP to get the characters used to each other. If you guys would prefer the retcon I'd be willing to work with that, too. Either way, hi! I look forward to playing with everyone!

Male Orc (Assamir) Magus (Inexorable Iron) 2 |HP 13/30|AC 19/20|Fort+8; Ref+5; Will+6|Perc +4| Speed: 25 '|Conditions:|Hero Points: 1/3|◆ ◇ ↺

Welcome aboard, Meisha.

I am encouraged that we can move this story along. It has great rping potential!

female human NG Level 6 Lotus Geisha Bard / Bardic Perform 19 rnds per day / Init +1, HP 42 / AC 17, T 16, FF 11 / Fort +4, Ref +6. Will +6 / BaB +4, CMB +4, CMD 15 / Per +7 /

Your back ground mentions that you are a traveling troupe, so you are from a different group than us. That keeps an retconning from happening and gives a fun intro where the Drow do not think you are important and you need to convince them.

It would be an easy sell that one of our PCs recognizes you and is willing to help convince the Drow to let you come with us. Which I think might be a fun option.

If you are interested We could actually very easily integrate your character and my Bards back story fairly easily. Ren came to Taldor from Tien-Xia. She could have briefly booked passage with your trope or be familiar with them from her past. That way it is less retcon and more fleshing out the backstory and it might not tie you into knowing the whole group but it gives you someone. You could notice Ren and ask to come with.

How old is Meisha? I ask because if you want her and Ren to know each other I do have Ren being much older than the average adventurer but she does have a fondness for young people.

Alternatively these Drow have been stealing people and you have a very impressive stealth as a fox. You could have seen them there and followed. Not sure if the GM or you want to go that route.

By no means am I insisting on anything these are just a few ideas I had.

Female Kitsune Unchained Rogue 6

That sounds great! Have an in with someone in the group without having to do massive retcons. Now I just need to figure out where I fit into the current combat, or if I'm coming in later on.

female human NG Level 6 Lotus Geisha Bard / Bardic Perform 19 rnds per day / Init +1, HP 42 / AC 17, T 16, FF 11 / Fort +4, Ref +6. Will +6 / BaB +4, CMB +4, CMD 15 / Per +7 /

Oh I edited it and added a bit more on there. Sorry I did not think i would get a reply so fast and my brain is very foggy.

Male Human (Nerd) 15 Shadowcaster Wizard

I think I might be able to hide from the drow but I also don't think I can hide from the other things in the underdark without scent suppression, dampen presence, and literal invisibility. Meisha's only 19 or so; Kitsune hit adulthood a lot faster than humans and rogues are only a semitrained class, that's actually in the upper-middle of my age range if I remembered that chart right.

I figured you'd just be among the group of NPCs captured who was hiding their competence, and now feels obliged to act.

female human NG Level 6 Lotus Geisha Bard / Bardic Perform 19 rnds per day / Init +1, HP 42 / AC 17, T 16, FF 11 / Fort +4, Ref +6. Will +6 / BaB +4, CMB +4, CMD 15 / Per +7 /

It was only a thought. I prefer the one where we know each other. Party cohesion tends to be better when the characters are attached some how.

Ren left home a little over a decade ago. So she would have Meisha when your little rouge would have been seven or eight. So I doubt she would have recognized her among the crowd. But Meisha might recognize her.

Male Human (Nerd) 15 Shadowcaster Wizard

That seems best. Are the NPCs still restrained or were everyone's hands freed when it became obvious that the Underdark would eat us alive if we tried anything dumb?

Freed once you hit the second underground layer.

Male Human (Nerd) 15 Shadowcaster Wizard

OK. Should I roll initiative in gameplay and write the post for what I want to do? I'd want to slip into fox form and move for one of the archers, since it's a little hard to stab with a bow. I'll gnaw their ankles off XD

But seriously I hope this works as well as I think it's going to. I've never tried a build like this before so I'm not sure how well it'll work.

I'll handle it. You take over Coran's initiative; I'll place you on the map.

Male Human (Nerd) 15 Shadowcaster Wizard

And thus does the sneaky fox set up for her debut. Hopefully nobody saw that >.>
