"It is when your head feels stuffed with wool. A bit how you probably feel after drinking that much that quickly. Just keep drinking water dear." Jimmy says, still drinking his ale
Gwenhwyfar obeys and drinks half an liter of water. "Then why would anyone drink this schtuff? It tastes bad and makes your head wooly? Or are there peaple thinking of that as an improvement?"
"Being drunk is horrible, but there is a sweet spot you can get before you get drunk. You went straight through it. In that spot you still have all your mental faculties but you smile more, laugh easier, and you worry less." Jimmy says finishing his ale and downing his water. "Do you still have some sangria left Gwen?"
Checking her sangria mug she replies "Yesch, you want it?" She holds the mug in Jimmy's direction.
"No thanks, I still have mine, but we can top that up with some grape juice to make it easier to drink and less intoxicating." Jimmy says calling the waitress over
"I don't know if I will join the society. I need a bit more time to think about it. But it is a good opportunity to collect interesting tales to tell or sing about them." Niamh says.
"Juice sounds nice." Gwenhwyfar responds smiling a wide smile.
Tauriell has an idea. "Niamh, would you mind playing a few dancing songs on your fiddle?"
Jimmy asks the waitress for some grape juice, a pitcher of it in fact. "How do you feel Gwen?"
"You mean for Gwenhwyfar and Jimmy?" Niamh says while packing her fiddle out of the violin case "A slow one or a fast one?"
"A fun one, I don't care about the speed." Tauriel answers.
Niamh starts to play a funny song.
"I feel like dancing. Would you do me the favor." She gets up to let Jimmy lead her in the dance, but her legs have a will of their own.
Jimmy manages to catch Gwen as she falls and turns it into a dip with the music. He picks her up, hold her close and starts moving in time with the music.
Gwenhwyfar is delighted as Jimmy starts to dance with her. She feels like floating over the floor. Everything spins around even more through the alcohol. But that is only her feeling like a dance pro.
For Jimmy it's more like dragging a sack potatoes around.
Holding tight around Jimmy's neck she whispers "I think I'm a bit dizzy. But this is wonderful."
"I am glad you are enjoying yourself Gwen." Jimmy says turning around the floor with her. "It is nice to have you this close to me." Jimmy whispers in her ear
Gwenhwyfar stops 'helping' with the dance moves. She sorts her legs to stand on the ground and releases Jimmy's neck. Holding herself with her hands on Jimmy's shoulder she places herself at armlength with a scrutinizing look on her face.
She then comes close again embracing Jimmy around his chest and laying her head on his shoulder.
With a deep sigh she says "Yes, close is much better."
Jimmy holds her close and kisses the top of her head. "It most certainly is."
Gwenhwyfar looks up. "You know only my mum is allowed to kiss me on my head."
She jumps a bit to overcome the distance and gives Jimmy a peck on the lips. Giggling she hides her face on his shoulder again.
A bit taken aback, "I think you may be more drunk than we realized." giving Gwen a massive smile
"I start seeing the benefit of it." Gwenhwyfar smiles back.
"Well then, may I have a proper kiss this time?" Jimmy says picking her up and waiting for her response looking into her eyes
With the alcohol level she has it is ok for her to give a peck and hide away. But to give a proper kiss and in public nonetheless? She is not that courageaous.
Hiding her face in her hands she mumbles behind them "I'm not here. You can't see me." What can still be seen of her face borders in color on crimson.
Niamh looks a bit disgusted and starts playing horrible weird tones with her fiddle as she recognices what Gwenhwyfar and Jimmy are doing.
"Oh I certainly can, and red is a good color on you." Putting her down again, "Lets go get some more water, I'm tired."
Niamh changes to beautiful music again happy that she managed to stop the kissing.
She follows Jimmy back to the bar to drink more water. She watches her toes closely as she feels embarassed about herself.
"That was fun Gwen, I just need to rest my old bones and then we can dance again if you like?"
"Maybe we wait with the dancing until my legs are back to normal." she says giving Jimmy a shy smile a bit relieved that Jimmy isn't mad at her for teasing him and then back down. Again.
"That sounds like a good idea, it'll let me catch my breath again." Jimmy says handing Gwen another glass of water and picking his own ale up again and taking a slow drink
Drinking the water Gwenhwyfar's face color get's diluted and closer to normal.
Suddenly remembering that Tauriell said something she asks "What did Tauriel say earlier?"
"That you were going to be throwing up if you drank too much more too quickly. But you have slowed down which means you should be fine." Jimmy says finishing his ale, picking up his vodka and downing it. "Ready to dance again?"
"No, not that. The other thing she mentioned. I think it was something important, but what I remember doesn't make sense."
"She called us lovebirds?"
Gwenhwyfar looks Jimmy straight in the eyes trying to read if he is serious or trying to make fun of her.
"Yes I remember that. And you are right. That totally doesn't make sense." still looking at him checking his reaction.
"Why doesn't it make sense? I like you, like a lot." Jimmy says shyly
"Ok, we are on the same page then." she says nonchalantly "But I asked about something she said, that totally doesn't make sense. And I can't remember what exactly it was. Something about selling our soul." she explains dumbfounded.
"Oh, the pathfinders, they are a guild type organisation your pledge lifelong allegiance to. Mrs. Heidmarch is in the upper ranks if I remember correctly."
"Oh, that. Do you think this would be a good idea? They don't really want your soul, do they?" Gwenhwyfar asks suspiciously.
Niamh stops playing and tries to start a conversation with Abomentolor "Will you join the society?"
"I'm not sure yet. This knowledge stuff is pretty boring. But the opportunities for advancement seem to be quite good. Think of it: Abomentolor Goblinburner, member of the Pathfinder Society. Sounds nice, doesn't it? And if I earn some rank it would be even better." Abomentolor smiles already daydreaming of himself being famous.
"No shoul shelling from what I can tell. It'sh jusht a pledge of allegssshh... allegiansh type thing." Jimmy says explaining. The vodka hitting him hard now. "Wanna dansh again?"
"I think I will ask Mrs. Heidmarch tomorrow what that is all about."
"Yes dancing sounds good. But where did the music go." and shouting over the room she asks "Niamh, why did you stop. We wanna dance again."
"I'll write a song about your heroics if I have time for it." Niamh says with a serious to Abomentolor. "Immediately after I learned playing the transverse flute."
Niamh is a bit uncomfortable with Gwen being not polite and then grins mischievous at Gwenhwyfar and starts playing a really fast dance song.
"Then letshh dansh!" Jimmy says standing up,
"Niamh, you need to learn to set priorities. First things first. Learning the flute can wait. But a song about Abomentolor the great is really important." Abomentolor says.
Gwenhwyfar has all but full control of her legs back and tries her best to do a real dance this time but Jimmy is no real help with that.
Which won't win them a prize, but at least no one gets hurt.
"Last time I got the impression that you are a better dancer. You got lead in your feet?"
"And if I want to write the song with an interlude with the transverse flute?" Niamh says to Abomentolor while playing the fiddle "Then I have to learn the transverse flute first or your song will sound horrible and no one will listen."
"You can't tell heroic stories with a flute. What kind of bard are you? And who cares about interludes." Abomentolor objects.
"Make a suggestion. Most qualified are rhymes for a song that should stay in the people's head." Niamh says grinning and waits for a suggestion.
