Bom raises an eyebrow at M'gruls observation. Bom decided this one he'd leave to the intellectuals of the group, but the ranger carefully surveyed the room for signs of anything amiss.

Taking 20 on Perception while others start solving the puzzles. But will stay by the door.

Malik bends down to one knee muttering a prayer to Abadar, and slowly stands up to examine the room starting with the copper chest and working counter clockwise.

Casting detect magic and taking at least three rounds per aura to determine as much information as possible.

A perception check to search one of the 24 5x5' squares in the room is a move action. Pathfinder Core Rulebook, Page 102. You will spend 20 times this amount of time by taking 20. One minute per square, or 24 minutes to search the room, taking 20.

You cast your spell, and study the three chests. "By Abadar's grace I've discerned the copper and steel chests have faint aura's of magic, what it is from and whether it is from the chest or what is inside I can not say. Perhaps we should focus our efforts on the other three objects and go on from there."

"Perhaps we should split up examining the objects here? There are six of us and 5 items."

Stullun nods at Bom takes out the masterwork theif's tools he pilfered from the last mission and sets to work on the copper chest. Ignoring the comments of those around him as jestful teasing about the fact that he hasn't trained his device related skills enough, Stullun doubles down in he seriousness trying to crack the secret of this chest.

The liquid hisses and bubbles on the floor as the acid dissolved the top layer of lime. After a few moments all that remains is a single key. Meanwhile, Malik tips the basket onto the table while Bom readies himself for the worst.

A large asp falls out of the basket, hissing angrily, mere moments after the snake hits the table, a key also tumbles from the basket, bonking the reptile's head. Enraged by this final indignation, the asp strikes at its nearest target, Malik.

To Hit (Trap!): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0 (1 point non lethal)
Fort (Small Asp's Poison): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

The viper's poison burns in your veins, but causes no harm.

Small Asp Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Roll Init, and if you get higher than the viper, please take your action.

Bom sees the asp and his first reaction is to try and use his empathy with animals to calm it down. But after seeing that it was enraged, Bom intuitively knew such a feat was beyond his skill. Reluctant though he was, Bom had to try and kill it before it injured any of the party.

As Bazresh waits in the foamy puddle of acid be has so recently created, he suffers a minor burn, inflicting a single point of damage.

Having exposed the copper chest as an illusion, emptied the jar, and banished the snake to eternal slumber, you have uncovered two keys!

You now have a blue stone key and a jeweled brass key.

Finishing the detailed inspection of the room yields little else:

This steel cube has only the faintest crack where its lid meets the base, and would be completely featureless save for its narrow keyhole.

This smooth, red lacquered chest looks devious. The solid metal plate surrounding the gaping keyhole pulses with glowing amber runes.

"Well, lets get to it..." Stullun, knowing that he has quick reaction to potential hazards, will try the jewelled brass key in the red lacquered box. If that fails he will try the same key in the steel chest.

Placing the key in the red lacquered box, the key spins freely around, making no contact with the locking mechanisms at all. When the same key is placed in the steel bound chest, the key breaks in your hand, and dissolves into dust.

Bom raises an eyebrow in surprise that the rogue's eye seems to dart and his hands fail to meticulously canvas the surfaces.

"No problem, we all have different talents. I'll give it a go."

Bom spends half minute on the cube and then the remaining chest. Bom was satisfied with his effort on the cube, he felt like he'd searched it as well as he could. But the lacquered chest confused him and Bom felt like he was searching in circles.

"Calistra's luck will see me through this." Stullun says with a wink. He takes the key and tries it in the red laquered chest first. If it doesn't work there, then he will try the metallic box.

Before Stullun tries the cube, Bom nods at M'grul. "I'm fairly confident that the metal cube is rigged in some manner, but I have no skills at disabling devices. Anyone here have the skills? I found nothing on the other."

Bom motions others to backs away from the cube as he himself steps back.

The key will not fit into the lock on the steel chest. Placing the key in the red lacquered chest, the lock pops open, and you discover a jeweled scepter with a key forged into the end.

As the key turns in the red lacquererd chest's lock, you hear a fait click. Looking up at the 15' ceiling, you notice a small slit has opened. A golden key drops down, suspended six inches below the 15 foot ceiling. (14.5 feet off the ground).

Kensingtons whip flies up, and snakes expertly around the key, a small tug Strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 and the string breaks. The key lands at Kensington's feet with a small clink.

String or twine has hardness 0, 1 hit point, and Break DC 14.

Malik claps briefly for Kensington "Well done! We have two keys and the one chest. Unless someone intends to try and deal with the trap, I say whomever has the best chances of avoiding a triggered trap should try the keys."
