Okay - so I've never played a bard, so I'm not sure how it really works.
For the per/day bardic performance ability - it says that "some require concetration - thus must spend a 'standard action' each round for such concentration."
As I can see it, there are TWO abilities that specifically state "requires 1 minute (10 full rounds) of concentration: Song of Freedom, and Soothing Performance.
The other abilities, however indicate that it does require that the bard continue to sing / dance, etc to continue to grant the benefits -but they do NOT specifically say such singing / dancing is considered continued concentration - and thus I'm unsure if that does or does not require a standard action each round.
To further confuse - the Suggestion ability states that "using this ability does not break the bard's concentration on his use of the Fascinate ability...." leading me to believe that Fascinate DOES require concentration - but it, unlike Soothing Performance and Song of Freedom, does not explicitly state that it requires continued concentration.
I do understand that even abilities that do not necessitate continued concentration do still prevent the verbal activation of items and spells while continuing to dance / sing...... so does that mean that those abilities that require continued performing, but not concentration simply means that the action to continue it is a "free action" per se - that prevents spells / item activation - but should then be able to do something else like make an attack, or cast a non-verbal spell or "silent" spell.....; or is it a move action preventing a full-attack sequence?
To clarify everything, I think it would be helpful to know for certain which abilities do and do not require concentration.
