Hello to all, Im a relatively new gm and still learning the small rules. I would like to try hosting a game through posting and see where it goes. i have a rough concept of a campaign but leaving it open s players can decide on how to proceed in the world im setting up. I will need mature serious players so I know that im not just being taken advantage of by people that make ridiculous characters just to exploits builds. Im looking for 4 players maybe 5 if I like enough. Again im still learning the tools to play online s maps might be a little bit.
Im going for a medieval feel where blood and savagery is abundant in the land and happy endings are a thing for bards tales. I do not have the UC book, I only have what hero lab gives me on its version. As such some things in the UC have yet to be implemented on it. I will take applications but the way I was raised in gaming never included gunpowder. So no sorry gunslingers you won't be allowed. Also I won't be allowing ninjas and samurai. These people live halfway around the world and would never make it so far inland to metaphorical "Europe".
Will take applications with very well thought out back-stories. Meaning if you take the heirloom weapon be prepared to explain it to me how when why you have it and know the penalties to taking it later on. Im looking for pretty much a game where players have fun reading about how people interact with the world and feel like your writing a novel and taking an active part in how the world will be shaped.
Other than that im very flexible and kind gm. I will probably dabble in a gm boon either in special equipment/free feat. Applicants who apply and are accepted will talk to me later on about this.
Ok how to apply.
- The small village of Grunshire is under siege. The mayor knowing the village needs help has sent out to mercenaries and hero's alike to come to Grunshire and defend their village with promises of rewards fit for a king.
-20 point system
-average starting gold
-Core races only
-2 traits (please be kind to me and don't exploit my good nature)
-Classes from Core, APG, UM, UC* with exceptions as stated above
-Backstory including how you arrived, small backstory, whats your drive to help these people, what you plan to gain from this adventure. And general explanation, the better thought out the character more likely you will win a spot in this generous and fun adventure.
-I will be running your character through herolab and if it checks out your ok if not I will ask you reconfigure
-small plan of advancement is appreciated but not needed as characters will roleplay their choices not by a computer
-Applications will be accepted up till Saturday because I wish to start soon (while its all fresh hehe) or if I think I need more applications I will postpone till the following Saturday as I have college starting

Ok so we know what isn't allowed class-wise, no problems on those so far. Are there any other restrictions, such as races or reasoning for taking an Exotic Weapon Proficiency? I've seen other dm's say that b4 or played under some that for example said "Must receive training in game to use an Exotic weapon or Prestige class".

GM Raventhorn |

kk id appreciate Alias' just for ease of access but yeah both ideas seem fine also I will be looking into each class and thinking about it again just dont want overworked characters that seem to blow by the story and only focus on killing s#+&. Also i want roleplayers not WOW players lol
@Leet dude thats an epic fantasy have fun with it

Devin Cross |

I would be interested in playing, I'm still finishing up this character's story but have the numbers in place. I am a HEAVY role player who wants a lot of story and character interaction. So may I present Devin Cross.
Synopsis: Devin is a professional gambler, ex-hit man*, and 'urban' ranger. He has recently decided that the 'contracts' he was taking were no longer worth the risk and that his skills could be just a valuable to someone wanting to stay alive. So he has had to move in order to escape his previous life and find work as a mercenary or body guard.
* By hit man, i specifically don't mean assassin. He was never into poison and the appearance of 'natural causes'. He was the 'found in an alley with three crossbow bolts to the head' kind of hit man.
I will finish out the character equipment and background by this weekend.
Thanks

Hello!
May I present Falco Tosscobble, halfling battle oracle.
Falco Tosscobble was very much a normal halfling until his 28th birthday. In honor of his coming of age, Falco's father gifted him with a pair of aged kukris. The next day, Falco was playing in the woods with his new swords. Fate had loftier plans it seems. As if from no where, a bear charged young Falco. It was all the poor halfling could do to simply fall down, kukris held out in front of him.
A while later Falco awoke covered in blood. From that day he was among the most competent halfling warriors, but strange things happen around Falco now. Objects move without his touch, and discarded items settle far away from the haunted hobbit.
Blessed and cursed, Falco abdicated his place in halfling society and went wandering. He curses the gods for playing their tricks on him and he fights to gain enough strength to one day find and kill the god that ruined his quite, peacefull life.
I'll have to tweak him a bit but he's mostly done! I have not posted his stats yet. Please let me know what you think. Also, for info on my play style, roleplay ability, and post quantities, please review my aliases. Thank you for the consideration.

Azure_Zero wrote:AZ I lost one to the great unknown if you want to save the hollow still!I have a character from a Hollows last hope game that did not get in, I'll submit it.
Human Fighter (Phalanx)I do admit I'll need to re-tweak that character.
@KenderKin
What happen to Auk, forget to play?
Questions: how would you intro my character or do I do it?
and You know I am also running the same module here. hope that does not cause trouble?
P.S. You can read how I livened Falcon's Hollow up a bit.
@GM Raventhorn
I compile a new randomly generated character,
(believe me, you can get some interesting characters from it, like the NPC Alkaid i made, My players are never going to forget her.)

Azure_Zero |

Would you be willing to add any of these offical races?
Link
Note, I am only looking at Aasimar and Changeling as options, As I follow a self-imposed rule of "50% or more human DNA in my race selection."
And allowing the opening one to use would increase my random generation on race selection.
If you say no, I will accept it and flip a coin for Human or Half-elf.

Considering I dont have the book UC I cant see it really also I ran it through hero lab it says unarmed attacks are classified as unarmed attacks they are not natural weapons ie bite or claws so eldritch claws was not available even though at level 6 you met requirements 15 str (i assumed you knew) and base attack bonus +6
So to answer your question no it will not fit for natural weapons or requirement for the feat
Personally I am not a huge fan of monk I dont see how a monk is traveling the world away from the monastery in search of foes when they became a monk to be detached from the world. so yeah there's a tip for yall yes I might be a little bias but I was raised on Warhammer fantasy and its roleplaying game and since its roleplay sucks compared to pathfinder im trying to combine the two in my own little world lol
Sorry im making this so difficult for you Azure
@ daniel sorry man you snuck in right before my post went up lol. Yes I am still accepting applicants up till Aug 17 2001 11 59 UTC -06:00 time (Central time zone in USA) Again not big fan of monks I would suggest maybe making new character or at least REALLY impressive backstory. But again as stated above i don't like monks also I have a friend who made a zen archer and no does an arrow(s)+36 dmg in one round yeah not fun for a dm to see monsters go pop after several hours of making the encounter and nows theres cluster shot (i hate) so even makes fav enemy werewolves irrelevant. So theres my two cents let me know what you decide. I really hope Im not scaring you guys off.

GM Raventhorn |

YES down and dirty! death in the medieval lands was common and not often peaceful disease, violence, war very common so when you make your character it isnt a fantasy its brutal adaptation of life back then haha
Actually that seems really interesting id be down with looking that char over the campaign I have in mind it would work (not guaranteeing you a spot or nothing) but yeah go ahead. Also keep in mind guys that ill be expecting your character to justify your choices in your roleplay. Also when I see I have a few serious applicants Ill have you guys roleplay the characters on their way to Grunshire or just arriving. Some people dont seem to like this style of application process but it allows me to see how you interact with the world and how often you post. Way I see it if your serious about playing you will poor a little effort in the app process lol
As you can see im a very active person on the posts so ill be on often to check this thread. and let you guys know whats up.

Kynnith was, what one might call, an average child. He was born to an elven mother and a human father. HIs mother was never a big part of his life, returning to her people for years at a time while he was growing up. His father, a well known stone mason, worked hard to give Kynnith a good life. He was taught in a good school, and when his magical talents began to show, his father had a local mage teach him control and spellcraft.
But from his earliest days, Kynnith felt a calling to the church. He attended as often as possible and confounded his tutor by constantly asking about the divine and how magic fit into the gods will. Finally in frustration, his tutor contacted the local canon and ask for the boy to be taught the mysteries of the church. Kynnith was extremely happy, and surprised both the canon and his mage tutor by being able to 'blend' the doctrine of the two into one. But time, as is wont, marches on, and soon Kynnith was a young man looking to exit the cloister of his magical and religious training and explore the world on his own terms.

Is it too late to change to a different character concept? I'm not sure I like the oracle for this setting. Please let me know what you think.
your fine man got till friday and as its looking probably will extend till sunday at least
ALSO!!! everyone please I want backstory not just your character concept its fine for later on but major part of this recruitment process is im more concerned with background and what i have to work with and how it fits in with the world

It might help if we had some more specifics on the world itself. I'm trying to keep my background as generic as possible because I don't know any of the details of geography, politics, or history. I would have a different background for "everyone just finished fighting a 100 year war" than I would for "there are only two cities and everything else is a barren waste". I'm not saying that we need to know that the third king of the dwarven realm of U'latn is lactose intolerant and likes wearing goat skins. But the more detail we can have on where we might be from or what we might have lived through, the more background we can give you.

GM Raventhorn |

Alright the Village of Grunshire, lies in the land of Tholan. Recently there has been string of puppet kings and would be conquerors over the capitol city throwing the land into chaos. This leaves remote villages like Grunshire without the resources to adequetly protect itself. The land itself is a dark gloomy place filled with old trees and even older horror stories. Fifty years ago a major battle took place not too far from Grunshire between an Orc overlord and the benevolent ruler, King Geoffrey III. The king was able to slay the Orc warlord but at the cost of his own life. His wife too weak too hold the throne by herself and gave way to a string upstarts who tried to take the throne away only to be killed by the next fool who wants the throne.
Your stake in this is your trying to make a living in this troubled land. For mercenaries the pay is good but the fighting harsh as multiple warlords break off from the once united realm and establish duchies for themselves. Ravaging the land and its people without scruple. There is little in the way of heroes anymore as most who supported the king fell to Orc swords and arrows. The land itself is troubled rumors of dark magic is whispered in the dead of night speaking of horrors happening in the woods and near grave-sites. Sightings of orc raiders have been sighted and as always when the land festers the people turn to banditry to feed themselves and their families.
ok thats all ill give you guys look forward to the revamped characters :)

Just go ahead and use the pathfinder gods I dont want to mess with creating another pantheon of gods and corresponding their powers to verlap with pathfinders so go ahead and use them just dont expect many people to respond well to it.
The people will only see you as a person who hasnt suffered because the churches always collect tithes and are seen somewhat as a source of the corruption of the land. Multiple theologies and their own candidates for the throne and what have you.
