Dorin Ironbars
Dorin gritted his teeth against the strange buzzing sensation that suddenly flooded his body, so alien to his own brand of healing. He panted a little breathlessly when it was finished, feeling his wound with a growing smile. It was better and he felt amazing. He grinned at Petros and shook the mans hand tightly.
"That do be bloody interesting, how you did that. I appreciate it. Thank you Petros!"
Kaley Toller
In response to Petros's question, Kaley looks slightly confused and says, "I was just thinking that the longer we wait the more likely it is that the rest of the occupants of the spire will realize there are intruders. We're not here to wage a war."
Kaley steps into the room next to them and comments, "It looks like there's a side door down here on the right. We could try that. But lets make sure we're ready this time."
Dorin Ironbars
Dorin grips the axe tightly, up close to the head to keep it balanced, as he walked after Kaley. "Aye, I do believe you do be going the right way. We take a right down that small path!" He nodded, peering past Kaley to stare around the room they were just about to enter.

"Yeah, I just think hurrying is good because, like Kaley said, we aren't here to wage a war, especially not on their turf."

Perception-1d20+5
You see nothing of note that lies within the room, or between you and the door which seems to open to a run-down side tunnel of the ruin.
Kaley Toller
Kaley crosses to the entrance of the tunnel. She turns back to the group and calls in a loud whisper, "Come on. It looks safe."
She draws her sword and pulls a small glass vial out of her pocket.
Ms. Pleiades
|
Correct me if I'm wrong, Petros, but your character's lightsource would run out after a minute, yes?
Dorin Ironbars
Dorin dashed after Kaley, gripping his axe tightly as he stares down the other way, to where they are heading, keeping an eye out for any trouble.
"I do have your back lass!"
Coglen
Coglen keeps up with the group, interested in not being left in the dark.
Qot La'Jal
Qot follow in his usual silence. Being hasty sounds like the best thing to do at the moment, and he tries to keep up with the group.
I have Darkvision, by the way... I'm a half-Drow. It's the shining light who bothers my eyes. :)
Kaley Toller
Kaley pulls the stopper from the vial in her hand and quickly drinks the murky substance within. Her body seems to ripple and distort for a moment, then she slips the vial back into her pack.
Consuming a Strength mutagen.
She stands around awkwardly for a moment, listening to the silence around her as she waits for Petros to catch up. Once he does, she brushes a stray strand of hair out of her eyes and tentatively opens the door.
Petros the Witch
Correct me if I'm wrong, Petros, but your character's lightsource would run out after a minute, yes?
As far as I am aware, Sunrods work for 6 hours after struck. But as I am unclear as to the hocus-pocus in the spire, I will leave it up to you as to whether that time is shortened
Nodding nervously as Dorin shook his hand, Petros hustles after the rest of the group, once his arm finally regains feeling. Choosing to remain farther back, Petros digs about in his pockets before taking out another vial of the burning fluids he'd thrown earlier.
Ms. Pleiades

Nope, the duration wouldn't be affected. The magical effect just affects the radius of all light sources. I'll be working on a post for the door opening in a bit.

Opening the door, you find a cramped, ramshackle tunnel bored and excavated through a collapsed section of ruined emerald. The tunnel is buttressed up by several pieces of timber, roughly hewn, and matching the trees of the surrounding forest. One of the timbers has a goblin's ear nailed to it, black marks of old blood staining the wood beneath, and above it a rough carving in goblinoid writing.
Further up the tunnel, you find a canvas sheet, similar to the one that hid the back entrance through which you entered, and next to it lies a rope. Nailed to the timber closest to the rope is a piece of vellum with a crude drawing of a goblin and human (with appropriately menacing stink lines coming off of them). The goblin appears to be tugging on the rope, whilst a giant boulder is falling on the human.
This tunnel is for small creatures. Medium creatures must move through by squeezing, taking -4 to AC and -4 to attack, while also moving at half speed. The movement speed penalty stack with difficult terrain.
Dorin Ironbars
The movement speed penalty stacks...? I'm moving 5ft a round.
Dorin takes a step forward, in to the tunnel, at the end of the line.
"You three go ahead... I do be here for a year!"

Ballocks, I meant to say doesn't stack, sorry about that.
Dorin Ironbars
Phew! 20ft a round (Double move) is better than 10ft a round (Double move) hahaha
Coglen
is this the only way to go?
Ms. Pleiades

is this the only way to go?
No, there's a lot of other doors that I've now marked with blue arrows. Please remember that you don't have your own light source at present however.
Kaley Toller
Kaley ducks down to enter the tunnel and begins moving carefully among the ruins. "I'm going to go check it out. If any of you are coming, I think it might be best to leave the lights here. They'd be a bit of a giveaway."
Kaley makes slow progress in the rubble, but she does her best to remain aware and discrete.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Apparently, her best is not particularly good.
If nothing unexpected occurs, Kaley will continue down the tunnel until she reaches the end, at which point she will peel back a small corner of the tarp and peer past it.

|
Peaking out from behind the flap, you find a rounded chamber, its ceiling vaulting much higher, where one would stand straight once more. Beyond what was in the tunnel, there is not much of interest at the moment.
Coglen
Once notified that this chute doesn't continue on forever, Coglen follows the light-carriers into the next room via the tiny tunnel.
Kaley Toller
Kaley enters the room as well and waits for the others to catch up.
Dorin Ironbars
Dorin pushes his way through the tunnel after everyone.
Kaley Toller
Not having anything better to do, Kaley continues across the room.

You enter a large foyer that seems to have been the main tower entrance, but the grand doorway leading outside is now a broken mass of glass rubble. Crumbling archways lead to the north and south. A small doorway a short distance sits closed, the muffled sound of a goblin chattering coming from within. From around a corner, you hear another goblin, speaking in common in a sing-song voice.
"Who's a good boy, Gut Rip? Who's a good boy?! You are! Yes you are! Whose the ugliest, most clever hunter of them all? You are!"
Kaley Toller
Kaley whispers, "Whenever you're ready. I can block the door, if you guys can handle the one outside." She moves next to the wall and pulls out another vial, this one a shimmering blue.
Coglen
"What's going on up there? What is the light situation like?" Coglen asks, in a whisper.
Petros the Witch
Walking after Kaley, Petros tapped Coglen's arm as he walked past him "Let's find out, shall we?".
Petros walked past Kaley and gave her a quick nod before stepping past the corner and setting himself up just behind it, he did his best to walk alongside Coglen as he did so.
Petros is double-moving 25 feet straight towards the left and then down, just behind the corner. If possible, he is going to delay or do whatever else he has to do to get there while staying within five feet of Coglen
Dorin Ironbars
Dorin pushed forward, making towards the gate and keeping an eye out for any danger. He frowns as he (I assume) catches sight of daylight. 'We do be coming back on ourselves? So that do be the Goblin from before?'
Kaley Toller
Kaley deflates a little in response to Colgen's confusion.
This isn't an adventure novel, Kaley. You can't just jump into things and expect everything to work out okay.
Kaley answers in a low voice, "More goblins, it looks like. I'm not really a fan of taking the fight to them, but it's better than a repeat of our last skirmish."
She watches in silence as the rest of the party moves into position. "Well, I guess now is as good a time as any."
Kaley steps forward to the door and swallows her extract in a single motion. Her spine snaps upward, and for a moment her form is contorted into monstrous proportions as her limbs shoot out like tentacles and her body swells to accommodate her new height. A moment later she is herself again, but over ten feet in height and stooping slightly below the ceiling of the spire.
Consuming an extract of enlarge person. If you could make Kaley's figure larger on the map, that would be greatly appreciated.
"To be perfectly honest, I was finding all that sneaking around a bit tiresome."
Ms. Pleiades

As Kaley's bones snap and contort, the goblin and the goblin dog next to it are snapped from their animated, albeit one-sided, discussion of who was a good boy, and leapt into action. Meanwhile, behind the door by Kaley, excited jabbering can be heard, along with barking.
Enemy Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Enemy Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Enemy Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Enemy Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Dorin Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Kaley Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Coglen Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Qot Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Petros Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Almost as soon as the jabbering begins behind the door, it opens, and a goblin looks up at the positively massive Kaley. His eyes bug out of his skull, and he lets out a frightened shriek in common: "Don't eat me!"
The other goblin quickly steps up to line up a shot, taking aim at the oversized Kaley. "Get away from Lobshite! Nobody is going to eat him but me!"
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d4 ⇒ 3
It would appear the goblin is new to archery, as he literally misses a barn-sized target from 20 feet away as it clatters at Kaley's feet.
Lobshite the Goblin shouts from the door. "Why are you giving it a toothpick?!"
It is now Coglen's turn.
Kaley Toller
Those zombies we killed a while back didn't happen to come with a Linnorm Death Curse of Awful Initiative, did they?
Coglen
Coglen, not being able to see much of anything and only hearing enemies in the dark chattering, draws his blade and steps up next to the wall.
Qot La'Jal
This action happens after Petros's
Qot moves and tries to shoot at Lobshite's dog.

Petros the Witch
Eyes widening as Kaley grew large enough to block off most of his field of vision, Petros followed after Qot, hoping to provide light for those who might not be able to see....and himself.
Petros is going to double move past Kaley, if that is possible.

With Petros in position to shed light in the immediate vicinity, Qot moves into position, and fires his arrow towards Lobshite's dog, but the bulky figure of Kaley gets in the way, and he misses.
Lobshite's dog meanwhile closes the gap towards Kaley, passing her considerable reach as she still brings her weapons to bear, and attempts to bite her.
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Lobshite's dog recoils, now nursing a broken tooth from biting the thickest, hardest part of Kaley's armor.
With distances closing in, Dorin prepares to leap into action.
Dorin Ironbars
Dorin pushed forward, maneuvering around the now giant Kaley, prepping his axe as he does. He sets himself and readies himself for any possibility.
Readied Attack-1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 151d10 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Move forward. Ready an action to attack any enemy that enters my threatened area.
Ms. Pleiades

@GM: I moved before shooting to get out of cover... I even moved my figure on the map
You attacked Lobshite's dog, that's the dog with the goblin that's in the room with the doorway that giant Kaley is standing in front of. Even with your movement, he had cover.
Ms. Pleiades

The goblin dog at the entrance leaps for Petros, but comes within reach of Dorin, who expertly puts a dent in the hound's head, and the beast slumps to the ground in a heap.
It is now Kaley's turn.
Kaley Toller
Kaley's greatsword is the last thing to grow, jutting out to its full 10-foot length just as she brings it around to skewer the dog that has sprung toward her.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage: 3d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 5, 3) + 10 = 21

As Kaley's sword reaches its full length, she brings it to bear against the dog, neatly cleaving its head off.
With the dog no longer aiding him, Lobshite attempts to escape Kaley's reach by retreating deeper into the room.
Lobshite has provoked an attack of opportunity from Kaley, his following actions will be negated if Kaley's attack of opportunity would knock him unconscious.
Lobshite then takes aim and fires at Kaley.
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 231d4 ⇒ 2
The arrow strikes true, catching a weak point in Kaley's armor.
Meanwhile at the entrance, the goblin grins gleefully as he takes aim at Petros. "Die longshank!"
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d4 ⇒ 3
critical confirmation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 72d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
The arrow catches Petros on the side, a few more inches to the right, and it would have embedded itself in his chest.
Kaley Toller
Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage: 3d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 2, 1) + 10 = 14
As the goblin retreats, Kaley simply doesn't stop the momentum of her sword, allowing it to plow into his shoulderblade.

Added the health back to Kaley's token. It's now Coglen and then Petros' turn.

Coglen moves forward to stand where the fallen dog once fought, then slashes at the goblin.
