Hello everyone, and welcome! This will be my first game GM’ing here on the PBP boards, so I thought I’d start with a scenario I’ve always wanted to run, but never had the chance to face to face. I’ve been playing Pathfinder for about six years now, but just got involved with Pathfinder Society this past year, and have only played a handful of games.
Two slots are already reserved, so I am looking for four more. Please see below for some of my expectations for this game:
Posting: I expect everyone to post at least once per weekday, and once over the weekend. More is always appreciated. Once we get going, things will move at a good clip, and not posting for several days in a row causes the game to stall. If this happens, it will result in your character being skipped. Make sure you’re OK with the time commitment this entails.
Mistakes: As this is the first game I’ve ever run here on the boards, I’ll be mostly borrowing techniques used by other GMs that I’ve seen or played with to adjudicate initiative, knowledge checks, etc. That said, I fully expect to make mistakes. If you notice a mistake, problem, or have a concern, please let me know in any way you’re comfortable (discussion thread/pm) and we can discuss and find a solution.
RP: I’m a big fan of RP. That said, I’m also a big believer in keeping things moving. Interspersing description, dialogue, and action can seem like a chore, but it makes the game richer and more immersive for everyone. Doing all that while pushing things forward is the ideal for me. And don’t forget to interact with your fellow teammates, too, as well as the NPCs! It's much more enjoyable when interaction occurs, rather than just playing in proximity with other players. Be part of a team!
Selection: Selection will be first come first serve. Make sure you are able to fulfill all of the criteria mentioned above and post your interest below.
This will be a classic (non-core) game.
Bolty pipes up "Alright Mr. Farabellus, I think I'm finally ready. I can finally remember the 7 virtues of ancient Thassilon and am ready to be a real agent."
Pirate Rob here, I'm a voracious poster with the ability to post multiple times most days. Bolty is a "gunslinger" with the bolt ace archetype, meaning he'll be using a crossbow rather than those silly firearms. Also as a note I have both played and GMed the Confirmation, if that's at all an issue I'm happy to step aside.

Well that was fast! Unfortunately, Darak, I only need four for this one, as the other two slots are spoken for. I will keep you in mind for future games. Best of luck.
Here's what the party looks like at the moment:
1. (Reserved), Oracle? 1
2. (Reserved), Barbarian 1
3. Bolty, Gunslinger 1
5. Kennaniah Blackford, cleric 1
6. Mask Arachno, Slayer 1
Those that have been accepted, please let me know the following information:
Player name: Ghost1776 (Bob Tyson)
Character name: Kennaniah Blackford
Faction: Liberty's Edge
Day job: None
Also I would like to spend 2PP for a Wand of Cure light Wounds.
plus 190 gp for:
1 flask of Alchemist's fire
2 flasks of Acid
2 flasks of Holy Water
2 Potions of Healing
And I add my thanks for GMing as well!
Changes of plans, if you're OK with it. There's a new player in the recruitment thread looking for a level 1 game, and they just missed the spot for this game. Since I played Confirmation already, I'd happily give up my spot for a new player.
Ah, hello and thank you, so much Iff! Sorry to see Tol'bun go, but also glad to see if you return! :)
Player name: James
Character name: Bethany Savorsting
Day job:Profession (Courtesan)

Iff here. Nice that I'm still able to play. Here's my info:
Character: Shota Stargazer
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day job: -
FYI, I'm taking a weekend trip with my beautiful wife to get away from the Utah cold. I'll be back on Tuesday.
Hopefully I don't miss much with it being a weekend, but I'm unlikely to post. Please bot me as necessary!
Bolty, Korosh went from 7 or 8 rounds of paralysis to just 2 as we moved from the last map to the current one. You probably reloaded either when you were moving or when we were picking up Korosh to move him. I think it's safe to say you were ready to fire when we cave out of the cave.
Bethany, Korosh took all the potions from Janira's backpack and she had labeled each one clearly.
potions of cure light wounds (2)
potion of feather step
potion of vanish
Bethany and Shota I don't know if either of use can use any of Janira's scrolls or that wand she had in her pack, if you can now might be a good time.
Hmm maybe. What scrolls were there? I don't have Use Magic Device, so I can only use them if they are also Magus spells.
EDIT: OKay, I found the list, yeah I can use the burning hands wand, but not the cure light wounds one. :(
And so we draw to the end of this game. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I have. With each game I GM I try to get better, so if there is any constructive feedback you can think of, please don't hesitate to post here or PM me. I hope to see you all in future games of mine.
Please let me know if anything on the chronicles needs to be adjusted, or if there are errors.
Looks great, thank you very much for running, I had a good time.
As a quick note we had a few issues of timing with who going when. I've found mostly in pbp the GM will resolve it in the action posted rather than strictly in initiative order.
Since it's achievable by delaying it helps keep things smooth and avoids issues where somebody posts after you negating your action or causing other problems.
Not a big issue and everybody's got their own GM style but may be worth taking a look at at least.
Thanks, GM. I got the chronicle, mine is good. I thought you did a good job. It can be difficult to let an evergreen feel 'fresh', but I think you did well with the descriptions. Like Bolty, I think maybe you could try to tidy up the combat posts, just a little bit. Make sure that every action is handled and described, and that all ongoing are effects are noted.
THanks for running, GM and other players. Maybe see you again.
Okay, no hurry just wanted to see if I was missing that I needed to PM you or something! :D Thanks again! :)
Oh, also how do you go about purchasing stuff that you are allowed to, like the wands or whatever, but more specifically a freakin' spell component pouch? LOL My other character hasn't actually bought anything beyond her initial creation purchases.
Also, since Bethany is my second character, she has to pay 1 prestige for her Wayfinder, correct?
I don't have the exact wording in front of me but as I recall there are three things about Wayfinders on the chronicle.
1)If this is the first time playing "PFS 5-08 The Confirmation" with any character at all then you get your Wayfinder for free, no gold cost, no prestige cost. This is true no matter what the PFS # the character is. (Ken here is my #5 and is getting his wayfinder for free because I've never played The Confirmation before now.)
2)If you have already played "PFS 5-08 The Confirmation" with another character then you must pay 1PP to get your Wayfinder. (Ajax, my #8 who right now is in another PbP Confirmation game will have to pay 1 prestige for his wayfinder if he survives (AC 19 and the DM rolls 2 20's and confirms the crit on the second one!))
3)If this is the very first chronicle your character gets, regardless of whether or not you the player have played the confirmation, than any upgrades you what to spend prestige on for your wayfinder will cost 1 point of prestige less. (Ken will not get the discount as this is his second chronicle (First Steps Part 1 was his first), Ajax (if he lives) will get the discount, because playing in The Confirmation was the first thing I've ever done with him.)
As for new purchases, you used to write the item on the bottom or the back of your chronicle and the GM who just gave the chronicle to you would intial the gold spent. (Or the GM at the start of your next game would see what you spent in between games and note that on your next chronicle. These days there is an inventory sheet witch to be honest I haven't used much because I've been away from PFS for a while (*cough* close to 3 years *oough*). I assume you record your purchases on it and either your current GM or your next one signs off on it.
PbP tends (or at least tended) work on the honor system pretty much on purchases to some degree. You post what you what to buy and the GM notes the gold spent on your chronicle rather than taking the time to record each item for you on an inventory sheet. Your experience may vary.
Okay, the new chronicle sheets have been uploaded and are ready to go.
For purchases, I mostly keep track of them on the inventory sheet, and I post what my character buys (usually at the start of a game), so there's a record.
Thanks everyone for the great game!
Here is the chronicle link again if you need it.
