Unfortunately, this room doesn't seem have much in the way of treasure. If these dragons are permitted their lairs, they aren't here.

WP looks over the two dragons and wonders how old they are.
Know:Arcane (take 10): 10 + 9 + 2 = 21
As he works he takes the fangs from the two dragons he killed and a few select scales, those without damage, and stows them in his backpack.
Moving north, he scouts ahead, flying and invisible.

Dungeon Master S |

Whistle Pig scouts north, and finds the caldera of the volcano itself. Beyond the edge of this cavern, the smoke and fumes become too much for the intrepid halfling.

![]() |

WP flies back to the group. "the crater of the volcano is that way. Really neat. Thought I'd never see something like that," WP coughs for a moment."I would have stayed longer but it's really hard to breath in there."
If there are no objections, he heads down the small path to the east and then takes the southern route if needed.

Raen Varkath |

Before leaving the dragons' chamber, Raen is sure to examine the dead giants carefully. She looks not only for magical items, but also for any paper, writings, signet rings, or similar paraphernalia.
Perception: 10 + 13 = 23 plus Detect Magic

Dungeon Master S |

Whistle Pig scouts east, finding a rookery for the dragons who came in a little later, but there seems to be nothing of note in the area. There is yet another passage though. It doglegs back a bit, leading to the same general location as the other passage.

Dungeon Master S |

The air shimmers over a wide pool of magma that fills the southern half of this immense oblong cavern.
Swimming in the magma are a pair of creatures. Glowing-hot plates of iron cover the head of thes immense, primordial lungfish, and lava spills from between their jagged teeth.
Multiple maps updated.

Raen Varkath |

Raen considers whether she has read of such creatures. Link is dead, FYI.
Knowledge Planes: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29

Dungeon Master S |

I was wrong. It's a magical beast, so Arcana, which means Raen recognizes the pyropiscis and knows four random facts.

Raen Varkath |

Defenses, special attacks, special abilities, and a bit of lore please.

Dungeon Master S |

1. While obviously immune to the effects of heat, it also resists weapons which are not made of adamantine.
2. It's bite is hot enough to easily catch a person on fire, but it can also spit a loogey of lava.
3. It doesn't have any special abilities beyond those.
4. Few people know of these things, and the few who do assume they're from an elemental plane. They're wrong. These are native to the magma flows of Golarion.

Raen Varkath |

"Doxon, do you have a spell prepared to ward us against fire? I have already expended mine. Take note that adamantine weapons will be most effective, and be warned that these pyropisces can spit lava at range."

Dungeon Master S |

Before conversation continues, where are you on the map?

Doxon Greyforge |

Aye, Raen, I do. Happy to be of use and provide a bit of protection to everyone.
Have Resist Energy, Communal prepared. Can cast it on everyone for Resist Fire 30, 10 minutes

Raen Varkath |

Raen nods gratefully. "My thanks to Torag," she replies.
Before you cast it... It occurs to me that maybe we do not need to engage these, as they may be simply native to the mountain and this appears to be a dead end. Does Raen see any evidence that these creatures have been harnessed for the giants' designs? Bits/bridles/saddles? Feed nearby? Armor? Etc.?

Dungeon Master S |

YOU CAN THANK HIM IN PERSON YOU APE!"
The booming voice presages a massive eruption from the pool. A dragon of terrifying countenance emerges, or rather 8 of them dancing and weaving within themselves. Between this dragon’s jet-black scales run glowing rivulets of lava, and veins aglow with heat shine in the membranes of its wings. It gives a battle cry before preparing to fight to the death. Terrifying indeed. Make a Will DC 23 v. fear or be shaken.

Defenses: Immune to fire, paralysis, and sleep. Resists Magic.

Raen Varkath |

Raen glances down at Hamilton, raring to charge. "Hold, Hamilton, until Doxon lends his aid." She floats down to 10 feet. "Magma means fire, but also fearful of the cold."
She readies her magic, waiting for just the right moment.
Readied action to cast Wall of Ice the instant the dragon spews fire, intending to block the cone. The Wall will almost certainly be destroyed in the process, but here are the stats: 39 hp, hardness 0, break DC 28.

Hamilton Renaud |

Sweat drips down Hamilton's face, and it has nothing to do with the heat. Sammi squaks uncertainly. The hippogriff is visibly uncomfortable and Ham, who has stood before undead horrors from beyond, is visibly trembling. He swallows down the fear and eyes Raen with a bit of disbelief--there was no way he was going to charge this... Thing. With quaking hands, Ham reaches to his belt and removes the Drinking Horn of Bottomless Valor.
