Dungeon Master S
Indeed! Shump slays the final devil with ease. Everyone nearby shouts in triumph!
Out of combat!
Dungeon Master S
...But not for long.
A veritable platoon of devils teleport into a circle about you. A devil who looks like a beautiful fallen angel speaks. Wings stained black shear the air as her merciless eyes bore into you, "You mortals are worthy foes, but on this day you fall!"
She screams with ear-piercing power, "KILL THEM ALL!"
There are a slew of enemies and devil types. It'll take me a bit to update the map and post the spoilers for knowledge checks. Because of the nature of the fight, each enemy type gets their own initiative.
Roakar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Roos: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Erinyes: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Warhound: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Bone Devils: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Ice Devil: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Dungeon Master S
On second thought, if you want to ID, roll 4 (Planes) checks, one for each type.
The ice devil who just teleported in opens with a blast of cold that is unlike anything in the mortal world. All in the field (even Hugo) takes DMG: 13d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 3, 6, 5, 3, 4, 3, 1, 6, 4, 4) = 48 cold DMG. REF DC 20 for half.
The blast of cold instantly freezes all of the rescued civilians as they die with ironic postures of celebration.
The hounds are on the ground to the south. The bone devils are on the rooftops (25' up.) The erinyes are on the roof (30' up).

Yes, you can take for granted. Quite Evil. Unfortunately, none of those hit the DC for identification.
Roakar picks up where he left off. Will versus Fear aura: 1d20 + 10 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 9 = 24 Let me know if that's correct because you only just made it. Going to assume you did make it. DC is 22. The icy devil stabs viciously with his frosty spear ATK: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (19) + 22 = 41 for DMG: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 5) + 10 = 20 + Cold: 1d6 ⇒ 4 + FORT: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35, but Roakar fights through the magic of the spear.
Four times he drives his weapon into the things skull. Somehow it lives! It's bloody and broken, but still fighting.

Dungeon Master S
Thank you on the saving throw math! Good use of the reroll!
Roos's words fill the air, fighting back the tide of terror the devils bring.
All three bone devils speak a quick word of magic before vanishing. The word is so quick that before you can tell what they've done they all reappear by Hugo, attacking with hellishly sharp teeth. The attack comes seemingly from no where, catching him off guard in the air: (Quickened invisibility, charge)
White: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 14 + 2 = 34 for DMG: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

One hound runs around the building closing with Shump while the other stops short and lets out a breath of burning hellfire! IT gets Roos, Shump, and Ignatious! Each takes FIRE DMG: 10d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 1, 2, 6, 4, 6, 5, 3) = 42 REF DC 21 for half.
The erinyes try a multifaceted attack! One drops a cold, cloying miasma of greasy darkness on Roakar, Roos, Shump, and Ignatious.
Ignatious takes DMG: 10d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 6, 1, 1, 5, 2) = 33
Everyone else takes DMG: 5d8 ⇒ (7, 1, 3, 1, 4) = 16
Good characters are sickened for 1d4 ⇒ 2 Rounds.
Everyone can make a Will DC 19 for half damage and no sickening. Neutral characters are not subject to sickening and take half damage BEFORE the save.
The middle devil-woman simply unloads with arrows aimed at Shump:

Flaming Arrow 2: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32 MISS

Erinyes are on top of the roof with Ignatious, 25' up. The hound is too far, but the others take it in the face.... Given that, I'm going to rule that Ignatious would have seen that and instead targets all three erinyes. And BLOODY HELL, in all the confusion I forgot to handle some SR stuff.

I was just thinking, does Hugo get a CL check for each of the 3 bone devils or just one? It may not matter much in the grand scheme of things...and if too much of a hassle..assume all of Hugos fail and Iggy's pass and keep the rolls above.
If several different resistant creatures are subjected to such a spell, each checks its spell resistance separately.

Also, because I took the extra movement last round, (and +2 to AC is the one benefit of permanent Protection from Evil I do not get), I believe that 3rd sword strike from your last attack hit me. Or am I just completely missing something simple?

Shump attempts to move closer to one of the bone devils and unleashes a holy fury against two of his closest opponents.
think I have to make a Fly check to 5 ft step then smite one and attack the other if the first drops. I'll take the extra attack from the blessing. PA The attacks have the smite damage/bonus added in. so they're -3 to hit otherwise
