I'll say that Ignatious is grappled so long as she's bound to him, unless you want her on a tether. It shouldn't prevent spellcasting, but it won't make it easier.
Roakar
|
Responding to the talk about the contract, Roakar says "Do you think that's the only copy? Maybe what's his name had one too."
Roos Randermin
|
"Aaaargggh! When can we go back to our dimension? I hate this planar hoping stuff. No good taverns anywhere" Roos says after watching Roak and Iggy struggle with the female and then he takes a sip from his flask of brandy.
| Dungeon Master S |
There's one door left, and no known way out of here...
Hugo Victor
|
does burning the paper have any visible effect?
Hugo moves to the door to check it.
Perception : 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (6) + 28 = 34
| Dungeon Master S |
There is. When the contract burns, words of fire write themselves in the flame. There is almost a human-like sigh of relief. The devourer's corpse also shakes. Ignatious quickly rolls it over in time to see the soul within soften. It's expression relaxes, and eventually fades away...
Hugo senses nothing in the door, though it is warm (not hot) when you get close.
Shump fighter
|
"hmm..I have the feeling we'll be in these demi-planes for a while. Glad that contract was burned. Give me another devil to it."
Shump looks down at his sword.
Hugo Victor
|
Hugo steps back.
"I detect no traps but... It feels strangely warm. ."
He will cast resist fire on himself since the communal one he cast earlier has strangly expired upon entry to this demi-plane
"I am ready unless Roakar wants to look through the door? ."
Roakar
|
"Sure lets take a peak, though I have not had much luck with all these devils noticing my doing it."
That said Roakar uses a round of his glove to see through the door. He reports what he sees to the party and readies his hammer for the inevitable "Roakar your first."
| Dungeon Master S |
You see a rather relaxed figure in the impressive room beyond. This grand, domed rotunda is ringed around its edge by a parapeted balcony. On the spanning dome, some eighty feet above the floor, images of an aged, bearded human signing a contract held by a massive, flaming devil seem almost to glow as if burning, and move as if alive. On the floor beneath the sweeping dome, a massive, luminescent summoning circle undulates and crackles with trapped arcane energy. The towering, rust-skinned devil smiles slyly as you look into the room. A tangle of long infernal contracts hanging from the massive horns curving from his back and over his head. He beckons you forth.
A disembodied eye emerges from the door and starts looking at you.
Roakar
|
I don't have the ability to see invis right now
Roakar reports the news to his compatriots.
"Like I said. These damn devils are spyin' on us somehow. Every time I look through a wall they let me know they see me. Very full of themselves."
"So any preps before I open this door carrying Roos as a shield?"
| Dungeon Master S |
Telepathically to all, "I have been watching you with my Arcane Vision mortals. You are impressive. You are also trapped. Come parlay with me..."
Hugo Victor
|
With Roakars news of spying Hugo looks around for any spy on this side of wall.
Perc : 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (2) + 28 = 30
"I am low on protections for the entire group. I have a few I can add individually ."

Ignatious the Seeker of Flame

Sorry, work has been pretty bad again. I do have Invisibility Purge, but I don't think we would really have a reason to use it. I wasn't clear if I missed something, though. I'm okay with being grappled with Illia (gigidigi. . . j/k).
"Sorry, we don't deal with "middle management", little fiend. You don't have the power to keep us from destroying this realm entirely, much less. . . offering us release from it. Not interested in your bargains."
| Dungeon Master S |
I grow tired. Come at least talk face to face.
| Dungeon Master S |
Finally tired of this conversation, the door swings wide, without agent seemingly...

"This demiplane has but one exit. I need 25 souls. Once that number is reached, I can let you out. You must, of course, agree to this on paper." The contracts that envelop him unfurl. Apparently he has one for each of you already drawn up. "Just sign on the line."
Hugo Victor
|
hugo also has invis purge but has not had reason to cast it
Hugo calls out.
How about we start with yours? Would that count as one of the 25?
| Dungeon Master S |
In Taldane now, "I grow tired of games. Either we deal in your souls, or I take them. In one of these instances we both win. In the other, only I do."
Contract Devil! In additional to normal devil traits, they can animate their contracts to cut like a razor and they are VERY smart. +1 per 5 over.

K. Planes: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Roos has no idea what this new person is...
"I hate planar hoping. Cant you just let us go in peace. We obviously outnumber you and my bald headed friend here can probably rip you apart. Just stand aside so you can go back to wherever you came from."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22
Hugo Victor

Kn:planes : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Hugo has not seen such a creature before.
"What makes you even think you can hold us here? "
| Dungeon Master S |
"The Law makes me *think* that!" He then telekinetically slams the door on you. You can hear him shouting in Infernal on the other side.
Come! Come to me allies and prepare for glory!
Devil: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

Round 1:
Devil: Summon
Ignatious: Go
Roos: Go
Hugo: Go
Roakar: Go
Shump: Go
| Dungeon Master S |
No he shut you guys out. No one moved into the room, so you should all be just on the other side of that door.
Shump rams the door, but it doesn't open!
Round 1:
Devil: Summon
Ignatious: Go
Roos: Go
Hugo: Go
Roakar: Go
Shump: Shoulder Door
Roos Randermin
|
are there foes in the room with us? or is the initiative order just to clarify actions in order?
| Dungeon Master S |
There is only the devil in the circular room, but he's summoning. Once you get the door open you can rush in and attack. Initiative is mostly up already to see if you can stop him before he summons...
Hugo Victor
|
"I can try to dim door a couple of you into the room next to him. It may not work."
Hugo delays for a response.
intent to cast dim door and pull Roakar and Shump or Ignatious into melee with him...or destination of their choice .
| Dungeon Master S |
Roakar steps up and in a flash, he and Hugo vanish from the hall! Go ahead and place yourself in the room.
Round 1:
Devil: Summon
Ignatious: Go
Roos: Go
Hugo: DD
Roakar: DD
Shump: Shoulder Door
| Dungeon Master S |
Oh, on the DD? Anyone who gets the spell can make it.
| Dungeon Master S |
Yes, anyone within reach of Hugo is good to go.
Hugo Victor
|
Anyone wanting the ride, hold on. Hugo would target 10' behind and slightly south of BBEG. Others can probably select being within 5' or 10' of foe. Hugo is disoriented after the spell but others can take full action if they have any remaining .
"Here goes nothing."
| Dungeon Master S |
Still need Roos and Ignatious to act. (They can likely crowd around.)
Roakar
|
I have arrived. You can bring along everyone but miss back stabby. Since I go second to last I would prefer to let Roos and Igi have there shots at glory before I attempt to mop up.
Hugo Victor
|
I think Shump only used a move to try and open the door so he may have a std remaining...but would have had to ready or something.
This could be ugly if we need this dude alive to escape :-)
| Dungeon Master S |
Unfortunately, DD ends your turn. Just need Ignatious, and I know work is bad right now.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame
|
"I fear forcing Illia to go closer might rend her mind once again, but allow me to do this before you depart on the roads of magic."
I'll cast Blessing of Fervor, I believe before anyone else actually goes.
