I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Female Changeling (Annis Hag) Oracle of Life 6; 32/32 hp
Larissa will mock a curtsy and step through the portal, searching the room beyond for occupants, especially in any dark corners where they might escape the men's less-sensitive eyes.

4am?!? Sheesh, better you than me! ;P

Updating map.
The door at H4 is the same one at AF 27.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
The big black squares are support beams....you're in a basement level, it is floored with limestone. The ceiling is hardwood floor, and is only four feet above the ground. Everybody but Leik has to stoop or crouch here.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
In the big grey square, there's piles of crates. Wooden storage boxes perhaps.
Edwin and Larissa both see something scuttle behind a support pillar, where the question marks are.
Humanoid, maybe? They were really fast. Didn't get a good look attem.....

Leik draws and charges each of his daggers.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
You hear footsteps above, on the "ceiling".....lots of them.
Edwin glances up at the ceiling.
"Oh, That can't be good,..."

"We could burn a hole through..."
"That is not the worst idea I have ever heard. Although I hesitate to burn down a perfectly good building while I'm still inside it!" Edwin whispers drolly to Leik.
Edwin's eyes are flickering from point to point, almost spastic in their movements. But the seemingly random glances follow a pattern, searching for clues as quickly as the self-confident detective can string them together,...

I have an (metagame) idea of what we might be facing here, but I HOPE I am wrong! ;P Searching for clues,...

It ain't an ooze, or a bugbear/orc/what have you. To human shaped, and way too fast to be any sort of humanoid.
Perception roll.....in and amongst the pile of crates, you notice long pinewood boxes.
Coffins.

MAP!
I placed Larissa anyway.

You see the coffins as well.
Four of them.
I demarked the coffins as brown, or orangish in the pile of crates.

"Coffins. Now I have a bad feeling about this."

"Odd locale for a final resting place..." Rholf comments softly. "Hopefully, they're just props. Did anyone else happen to see that quick figure up ahead?"
Silently, Rholf takes stock of his available weapons to combat the undead as the silent flames leap from his sweat-matted locks to spread eerily across the hardwood above them.

"I did. That and coffins... what do you know of vampires, Father Kastigarr?"

"That figure we saw, wasn't any humanoid I'm familiar with. Too human-shaped and too blasted quick to be a human. Judging by our track record this past week, I think we can presume the worst at this point."
"I have a very bad feeling about this,..."

They're resistant to damage, unless it's silver.

"Arm yourself with silver if you have it." Or mithril, but I left the mithril dagger with Alinya. Me and my foolish desire to be fair!

Rholf reaches into his pack and, drawing out a sunrod, he prepares to activate it if there is indeed a vampire in their midst...
"You there. Show yourself so that we may speak with you." His voice is calm and confident.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
You hear hissing, and not much else.
"Silver, of course." Edwin muters, then makes a show of patting his pockets.
"Of course, silly me, I left my silver weapon in my OTHER scabbard." he says wryly, then shrugs.
"I guess I'll have to make do with this magic sword, instead."
He adds with only a hint of smugness.
But he replaces his bolt on his crossbow with a silver one,...
He raises an eyebrow at the hissing reply to Rholf's declaration.
"Pity. And would be villains used to be so polite too. Alas, I fear for the depraved of today's society. With out even manners to their name."
The bard stands ready, but is not foolish enough to rush headfirst into a potential vampire nest!
Female Changeling (Annis Hag) Oracle of Life 6; 32/32 hp
Foolish? Rush headfirst? Did someone call my name?
Larissa begins moving into the room slowly. "Hello? We're not here for you, we are here to ask about the coins. Like where did they came from?"
AE23, please
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Heh heh.
Where's everybody else going?....
Larissa can hear hissing and gurgling, and sucking noises.
AF24 please
Unwilling to allow the lady to risk herself, alone, Edwin slides forward to flank her, crossbow ready.
"Come along now, the lady asked you a question. It's impolite to ignore her."
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
YOu hear more hissing, then.......
"ig.....nore......." spoken by more than one speaker, seemingly mockingly.
Then, "im......polite......." over and over again.
Then more sucking, slurping sounds.

Rholf follows Larissa's every step, ready to wade into battle beside her and Edwin. AD 24, please...
Edwin looks, perturbed.
"I do believe these rapscallions could use a lesson in manners. Shall we?" He asks, while indicating he is ready to proceed forward.
Female Changeling (Annis Hag) Oracle of Life 6; 32/32 hp
"We shall."
Larissa moves forward slowly again to AE19, looking around for threats.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Now somebody's playing recorders and thumping a drum up above.
M Human Cleric / 6
Rholf continues alongside Larissa. (To AD 20, please...) "Be ready when they come. I plan to use this first." Rholf says, holding up the sunrod.
Edwin looks doubtful.
"I suspect that the rod's alchemical properties, while impressive, may not live up to it's moniker when up against something as potent as vampires." He says.
"Still. No harm in trying, I suppose. I could be wr,... mistaken."
He looks very doubtful about that, too.

In her turn, move forward again, 15'.
Edwin follows the Lady, prepared to fire the silver bolt in his crossbow at the first undead thing that is stupid enough to enter his sights.
HE is also prepared to drop said crossbow and 'whip' out his magical whip and shortsword,...

"You may well be correct, Master Drood... I've never seen a vampire before, and the fellow that sold me this thing swore it'd work on undead."
Edwin smiles at Rholf.
"Well, let us put it to the test shall we? Then we can report back to the shop keep about whether he was correct, Or should be severely beaten for false advertising,..."
