The elf leads you all Into a side tunnel, where strange runes have been written on the wall, Open, Brandish your light for all to see says the elf, holding a small disk ahead, you recognize the symbol on it as the sun from the first room...
The wall shimmers, the stone seems to split into a different room, she leads you forward, and as you step through the dimensional door you feel a bit queazy, like you just lurched 50 ft in the wrong Direction.
Several gaurds quickly funnel you into the room, it is dark, but a window is letting in what appears to be sunlight from high on one of the walls. Welcome to Haven! yells Derek from the back, Well, the Backdoor anyways...

Ssithinelor |

Ssithinelor tenses after he goes through the door, not liking the feeling of being moved somewhere with no clear way to tell where it was in relation to where he had been.
"What is this Backdoor?" he asks, warily. "And must we stay in this room?"

Adrion Idaira |

Adrion glances around curiously. ”Are we safe here?” he asks Derek.

The elf leaves the room, and Derek sighs. Eh, well, that light is just the Sunstone, a large stalagtite that is enchanted to mimic daylight. As for the door, it's a portal. They can only be opened with Special keys, and not all of them lead to Haven... he motions for you to follow, Dark by his side. Now, best us be getting ye a place to live... he leads you out into a larger chamber.
This is haven. Not only is the cavern before you large, but the city built within is a sight to behold. If this was on the surface it would be a metropolis, with it's huge sprawling buildings and towers. Derek and several gaurds speak to your left, before Derek turns back to you. So, we have plenty of room for ya four, but we're going to have to put Y'all together for now. I'll set up a temporary home for ya while we find a good place for each of ye, unless you all want to stick together

Adrion Idaira |

”Yes, some privacy would be appreciated. Also, since waking up, I’ve exhibited some... rather odd powers, like making objects glow and throwing rocks without touching them. Is there anyone here who might be able to teach me how to better control these abilities?”

Derek nods, leading you through the streets, as you go you notice a strange lack of noise, other than the deep rumble of war drums from outside the city.
All your questions will be awnsered, we just need to make sure Y'all meet the counsel first.. come I have a place for ya
People occasionally look over at you, and you all notice that your clothes are quite dirty compared to theirs...
Water can be heard as you approach the center of the city. Soon you can see the great fountain of clear water pouring from the hands of a statue. The statue is of a woman no me of you recognize, but she is quite beautiful.
Your lead to a stone building with a sign labeled- The Red Drum inside it is clear this is a Bar, but it is nearly barren, with only two quiet Patron and a Ifrit bartender. He greets Derek as he comes in. SO! I see your hunch bore fruit, the filthy dirt sniffer. says the Ifrit mockingly. The dwarf laughs boisterously, Of course, Ye black-livered excuses of a dump fire he spouts back. But anyways, these lovely folks need a place to stay, preferibly different rooms, have any?
The Ifrit Scoffs. You know I do, why even ask... Four of ya then? Alright... he reaches under the counter and pulls out four keys, each a different color. here ya go, figure out which goes to whom... Up the stairs doors on the left he says handing you all the keys.

Adrion Idaira |

Knowledge (local) about the Red Drum: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Adrion accepts his key with a nod and finds his way to his room. Once inside he examines the accommodations carefully, curious to see what housing in Haven is like.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Once he has a feel for his lodgings Adrion begins experimenting with his powers, levitating small objects and observing the magical auras emitted when he does so. Eventually, a variety of odd sounds begin to quietly emanate from his room as Adrion discovers that he can create small auditory effects.

Unfortunately, none of you are familiar with this city, so any information you know is what you've observed so far
For those of you who look around, each room has a wooden bed, the wood quite old and aged, but treated with a fine finish giving it the ability to last quite a while. For some of you, there is a window in the main room, for the others it is in the rooms washroom.
Outside can be heard to sound of drums... As time passes the light outside the room grows dimmer, almost as if the sun was setting, only it always came from the same place. The drums end near "sunset" and silence fills the rooms.
The night is also silent, nothing disturbs you, and your sleep is unriddled with dreams
In the morning you can smell something cooking downstairs, and the smell of both cooking meat and fried vegetables can be detected.

Ssithinelor |

Ssithinelor wakes early, warily taking in the changes he notices--the lack of drums, the scents, the change in light. He cannot remember his past, but feels certain it was nothing like this.
Still, the smell is one of food, so he warily picks up his sack and spear and makes his way downstairs again.

Adrion Idaira |

Adrion back heads down to the bar in search of food. He is still somewhat on edge, ready for an attack.

The red skinned Ifrit waves at you as you all begrudgingly come down. Ho! Hope you slept well, considering your rough day... he hands out bowls filled with some sort of stew to everyone. There is a mix if meat and vegetables, although he makes sure to hand Ssith a plate with pork and sausage, seeing he's a carnivore.
I do suppose I wasn't introduced properly... says the bartender. M' names Jett, like the stone. he hold begins pouring drinks, Y'all have any drink preference? We have most simple alcohol, otherwise water and some juices...
The Ifrit seems kind, although anyone who isn't being rude or trying to kill you is nice down here...

Ssithinelor |

"Water," Ssithinelor says, shortly. He does not like being indebted to these unscaled for food and shelter... but neither does he refuse it.
He takes his food to a table alone and wolfs it down as if starving, and indeed he *is* quite hungry. It is only after he is finished that it occurs to him that such food seems odd, here... was there not something about sunlight being needed for meat like this? He could not remember, but it felt so.

Adrion Idaira |

”I’ll take water as well,” Adrion says. ”Thank you for the stew, though I’m curious: how exactly do you grow food down here?”
”Oh, and I’m Adrion,” he adds before starting on his food.

![]() |

Jett snorts at the question about food.
Well, some of the folks who got thrown down here where Druids, Clerics, or other such spell users, who used their divine favor to grow food and all that nice stuff... he sighs, The meat, is actually from animals and creatures that live down here. So that pork, isn't actually pork. It just looks, feels, and tastes like pork. The real animals are big bulky things that look like a mix of a warthog and a cow... It's not the prettiest thing, but they make great steak. he laughs, passing glasses if water to those who asked. With the army at our gates, I'm Suprised the counsel hasn't already stormed their way in here and started questioning you... Probably Derek, he knows how to get on their nerves.

Ssithinelor |

Ssitinelor stiffens slightly at the reminder of the army. The thought of being caught in an unfamiliar cave when a horde of enemies broke in was far from comforting.
"Will we be asked to fight?" he questions, warily.

Adrion Idaira |

Adrion is similarly nervous at the prospect of invasion.
"Are these sorts of attacks common? It sounded like there was a sizable army out there, but you don't seem very worried," Adrion asks.

![]() |

Jett listens to all your questions and sighs Alright, First: you'll only be needed to fight if you feel like your lives are worth fighting for. Second: no these attacks are extremely rare, we had assumed the Goblins had no idea where we where located, and the only monsters that got near this place where the darkness and a few stragglers.
He sets a glass on the counter. As for the counsel, their ranks consist of our leaders, and a powerful Illithid Telopath. Honestly they check in with every new group and assign them either together in hopes they'll be connected somehow and be able to work together more efficiently, or they decide to separate you all in the same hopes... he leans down onto the counter. I actually suggest you ready yourselves for battle, seems like the doors won't hold. The goblins apparently have a strange weapon they are readying at the door, from what folks are saying it might be an acid or something that can slip through the cracks of the doors. I hope not, Dwarven stonework is the best around, but I'm still quite worried. The fact that the drum has stopped is pleasing. You know danger is close when you hear it...

Ssithinelor |

Ssithinelor growls softly. "Then the drums should continue, for danger is still close. Where may we get weapons and armor to prepare ourselves?" He flexes one clawed hand. "I will fight for my life with nothing but scale and claw if I must, but I will be better armed."

Adrion Idaira |

"I don't think I know how to use many weapons, but my powers might be useful. Is there someone we should report to for orders in the event that the goblins do break through and we have to fight?"

![]() |

Jett snorts. "Weapons are only given to those who know how to use them, and those who've completed a trial. You see they don't just let anyone have weapon, for all we know your a Psychotic murderer. They allow you to keep your weapons you bring, but that's it."
As he finishes this a figure enters the bar. It stands a full 7 feet tall, and you can't tell if that's it's actual hight or if it's floating, for the creature that was there looked as if it had glided in.
It's skin was pale blue and four tenticles hung from it's squid-like face. It sees your group and you all feel it's voice in your minds. "The Counsel requests your presence " it says, the words slithering in your skulls.
Jett sighs, "Took no time to find out where you are it seems." he says. "some advice before you go, don't ask them to find out who you are... Those that learn the truth are often driven mad." Jett leans back, and the creature beckons you again.

Ssithinelor |

Ssithinelor growls softly in annoyance, but he is interrupted by the arrival of the strange creature before he can reply.
"I will come," he says, warily, standing to follow the floating being.

Adrion Idaira |

”That seems a bit paranoid...” Adrion begins, trailing off when the tentacled creature enters.
”I suppose I’ll come as well,” he replies to its telepathic announcement.
