Okay guys This is my first time Gming for a play by post So let start with something Good and easy.
Just in case i get more, i'll say this I'm going to take 4 Player's it's a more comfortable number for me.
For those who don't know Here's a short summary of What you sould expect to see as part of Dragon's Demand
There will be dragons, Reptilians things, and much more. You will be exploring and doing various task around the town of Belhaim.
So let's have some fun with this.
A little about me
I will be posting frequently, so if you have questions ask away and you can expect an answer as soon as I see it. I might change around a few things while running a module, changing around npc's, to my own characters, it will make it easier on me to play them that way. The stories and such will stay the same however so never fear that.
also I will probably be following the Spoony method of Gming. In other words i will be thinking and responding as the things your fighting would logically respond.
I personally like strong roleplaying and character. I believe optimization is good, but min-maxing is sin level bad. Stats should reflect your character, they are more than just numbers.
With that out of the way
What I expect from you guys
Please make your Initiative easy to find, i'll roll that before combat.
I'd prefer to see a myth-weavers character sheet if possible, but stat block formats are acceptable
When writing up a backstory or making a character have goals and such in mind for them. Point being make a character you want to play, and expect role-playing and combat in equal portions.
Posting requirements: I am aiming for at least 1/day, to keep things moving at some kind of good pace. if you will be unable to post that day, Let me know before hand if possible.
Build Rules
Classes: Any Paizo Material is legal, I use the SRD so i have access to it, And the Dreamscarred Press SoulKnife. NO 3rd party classes other than that. Use unchained Summoner instead of the Base summoner.
Races:Core, Uncommon, and Featured races allowed. 3rd party races will be handled on case to case.
Stat rolls: Roll 1 set of 3d6 in order, another of 4D6 drop lowest, If you get nothing you like from either feel free to use 20 point buy.
Traits: 2 traits, No drawback. I expect traits to fit the character and will be reviewing to make sure they do.
Level 1 to start Expect to reach level 7 by the end. If this goes well we can consider the group continuing for future adventures together.
We can start the game when people are ready, even before the holiday ends if we want.
Alignment restrictions: NO Chaotic Evil, Neutral Evil, or Lawful Evil. Chaotic Neutral are only allowed with good enough reasoning
Hit points: Max at first level, We will roll for the other levels
Starting gold: average
Fighter Bravery grants a +2 bonus to will saves, instead of it's usual effects.
Alchemist extracts count for creation feats

So... Is this for the folks from the "What would you like to play?" thread, or is it for people you have privately requested?
Nevermind, got it.
Okay, let me roll my stats then!
3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5) = 7
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 2) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 5) = 21
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 3) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 1) = 13

thegreenteagamer |

Just giving myself a dot and a set of stats before I move along and ask other questions...
3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1) = 6
3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5) = 14
3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 3) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 3) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 4) = 13 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 5) = 10 = 9
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 3) = 18 = 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 5) = 19 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 3) = 12 = 11
...See, that's why I always use point buy. I know the second is 22 points, but it's an awful spread. I will probably point-buy if I choose to do this. The first is less than a 4 point buy.
Questions -
Regionalism problems? Like Tians, or anything? Considering you're allowing tengu and kitsune and the like, I imagine it's not a problem, but I figured I'd ask. Some people don't like samurai or ninja in their western visions. Not saying I wanna play one, just seeing my options.
How often do you post? How often do you expect players to? "Frequently" leaves a lot of room for interpretation.
Is this a game where a mounted class can shine? A lot are dungeon heavy and standard cavalier gets shafted, for example, but then there's games like Kingmaker where you almost never have to dismount.
Are you using any Unchained stuff besides classes? Stamina, VMC, and background skills are personal favorites I've noticed a lot of people seem to like.
Edit - Oh yes, and how do you plan on mapping?
Hm...that's all I have for now.

1. I have no problem with the asian themes, i'm kind of an anime nerd myself so i have no problem with it at all.
2. I usually get home from work around 2pm EST. so expect me to post anytime after that. I will be flitting about the forums for pretty much the rest of the day. I will post at least 1 a day, most likely more. I expect players to be able to post at least 1 a day as well, if you can do more great.
3. From what i've seen so far from Dragon's demand Mounted might not be the best, it's a lot of dungeons and cave type explorations.
4. I haven't read about the stamina system yet so i'll let you know when I get to that with my decision for it. No, to VMC, Yes to Background Skills. On that note we will also be using Automatic bonus progression, on the grounds that i like it...

I have been using Google document spreadsheets in my two savage worlds fallout games I'm running. It seems to work well, as anyone can edit. It's not the prettiest, but it's phone friendly if you get the free app, which Roll20, the other popular map option I've seen, is not. The majority of my posting is phone.

Cool. Since this doesn't have a player's guide, like an AP would, are there tips for class choices? Likeregionally appropriate animal companions or familiars, good choices for favored enemies (besides Dragon, I imagine), deities commonly worshipped in the area for clerics, etc? You know, the stuff most AP player's guides would tell you.
Sorry for being so full of questions. This helps me pick a direction.

Dot.. Thinking of doing a Human Shoanti Ranger (Skirmisher Archtype)
** spoiler omitted **
Questions:
Do you have any problem with the "Thunder and Fang" Feat?
What about Hero points?
Did you post in the other thread, don't see your name that's why i ask?
This is a close recruitment. If you did i apologize, just making sure.No to hero points
I don't see an problem with the feat so go ahead otherwise.
@GreenTeaGamer
Not a problem, The area in general is forested and located in central Taldor, take from that what you will, i'm not seeing any recommendations for regional things. Also i am seeing dinosaurs for some reason are native to the area as animal companions
As for monsters, I'm seeing Animals, bugs, reptiles, things you can assume are closely related to the dark tapestry style stuff like aberrations, constructs, undead, elementals. That's just from a quick scan i took throughout the modules.
Dieties usually worshipped in Taldor: Abadar, Aroden, Calistria, Cayden Cailean, Norgorber, Sarenrae, Shelyn

Personally, I just make maps in an image editor, and upload it before combat. Then I move people's tokens around according to their movement in coordinates & reupload every turn. People on this site seem to like using google docs though.
Still thinking about a ranger, but I might go for a caster instead.
Stats:
Dex3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5) = 11
Con3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1) = 10
Int3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4) = 12
Wis3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2) = 13
Cha3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 4) = 14 - 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 5, 1) = 9 - 8
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 5) = 15 - 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 6) = 16 - 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 3) = 16 - 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 3) = 13 - 10
Are the 4d6b3 supposed to be taken in order, or is that just the 3d6?
Myth-weavers is down, so that's annoying.

GM_IamZero000 |

Personally i don't think the Arcanist needed to exist as it, but looking at the archetype yea go ahead all it does realistically is is save you a spell slot by putting the summon monster spells as part of an ability that draw from your point pool. So yea go ahead it doesn't look that bad.
@12.5%
the 4d6 can be put in any order
the 3d6 is in order.
So far we've got 3 people, let's see who else shows up

GM_IamZero000 |

Not quite sure how occultist works but i do like it's theme and concept so go ahead. I won't be able to help too much with mechanics of it so i will trust you to knowing it.
If your looking for ideas Bard does support and exploration well
And that is the fourth so things are officially closed from here on out
We have the party marked as this so far
1 Summoning based arcane caster
2 Occultist or Exploration/support character
3 Ranger/ undecided
4 Undecided

I'm almost certainly gonna go with a summoned having read over the unchained. It's not as much of a nerf as I heard - and anyway, I think the idea I have is more suited by an eidolon than summon monsters.
I'd like to do a half elf. I'd prefer to be CN, as I really like the demon eidolon, and I had an idea of maybe playing a half drow who always has the taint of evil hanging over his head, despite trying to use it for the greater good. Sort of a "the ends justify the means" or "fight fire with fire" kind of guy. So, not the "CN played as CE" that so many people choose, but a bit of an anyone to that wants to do good, but is using any weapon available to do so, and will break a few eggs to make the omelette.
If that's not cool, let me know, and I'll try to come up with another idea and look at a different eidolon...but yeah, to use demon you have to be within one alignment, so...

GM_IamZero000 |

that's fine, your character has a clear goal and is in the end a hero of sorts.
My main concern was the CN played as CE thing you predicted. your character doesn't have that problem so i'll allow it
once it's confirmed that everyone currently whipping up ideas is here to stay we can move the building and discussions to the discussion forum.

flykiller RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32 |
stat roll 1:
3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3) = 14
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) = 6
3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4) = 10
I think this one actually went into negative points.
stat roll 2:
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 3) = 8 -1 = 7
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 1) = 12 -1 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 6) = 15 -1 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 2) = 11 -1 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 3) = 14 -1 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 5) = 12 -1 = 11
And a 6 point buy here. I'm going to take 20, thanks.

GM_IamZero000 |

I have an answer for the Stamina System, Yes it is allowed
Free for fighters at first level
Still deciding whether or not i should go with the fighter unique thing for it or allow it through feats for others
Side note: this is why i always allow 20 point buy, just in case you don't get workable stats with rolls you can at least get good stats with the point buy

Daelendross Phaernemn |

Just a head's up, my goal is to grab a familiar at third with eldrich heritage, and make him a quasit at 7th with improved familiar (it goes off caster level not familiar level), for a double the temptation kind of thing. I'm really liking this concept.
I know normally that's a little crowded to wait for someone's turn with that, but given its PbP and takes forever between turn anyway, I've read pet heavy classes can actually be an option without slowing gameplay in PbP. I've already made an alias for my eidolon, although his sheet still needs to be filled. This one is almost done, just need to finish traits, my background skill points, and equipment...and the eidolon himself.

If you all want some kind of pull to come to the area i have an idea but it might require you all to know each other to a degree.
Luckily one of the characters i replaced is Balthus Hunclay a wizard in the area. I happen to have an npc character of my own that i use for such occasions where i need powerful crazy wizard.
If you guys are interested in following this homebrew-y idea of mine let me know.
cause there is a good chance that our summoner friend would have heard of him.
Btw i might end up coming up with nicknames for your character if you don't mind.
