Ting listening to the conversation, nods his head agreeing with Hans Oy you's blokes sound like ya knows what yer yappin' bout, Hans is wroight it would be's Logistical. An 'At offer ta be a knight is 'ard ta pass up, wroight." Looking from Hans to Felicitas, "So 'ow soons does we leave?"

After you agreed to become dragonslayers, those present cheer in relief and promise gifts to aid you:
The Baroness's Gift: The baroness allows you to use any of the magic items that were sold as part of the auction for the duration of your quest.
The Sheriff's Gift: With only the tiniest bit of grudging complaint, the Sheriff offers his ring of protection +2 to you to use for the remainder of the adventure.
The Cavalier's Gift: Aged Lezara Dodgion's days of crusading are far behind her, and she can think of no better home for her flame tongue than the hands of one of you. If needed, you can change the type of the weapon to match the type you prefer.
The Priest's Gift: Eupaphenia Targas tells you that any spellcasting services they might require from the House of Abadar will be provided gratis.
The Bard's Gift: Bassy's gift is an ancient brass keysomething Lady Tula herself gave Bassy's grandmother over a thousand years ago. Lady Tula also made a strange request: "Keep this key safe until the need for dragonslayers rises again."
Bassy informs you that this key will open the crypt of Tula Belhaim, but warns you that it's been centuries since anyone has entered the tomb, and there are doubtless guardians and traps within to keep all but righteous and true dragonslayers away. However, securing the magical treasures within would certainly aid you in the coming fight, should it be necessary.
Aeteperax's demand mentioned that his ransom should be delivered to the Monastery of Saint Kyerixus. This name refers to an old Iroran monastery on the far side of Dragonfen.

Hans smiles, and nods his thanks at each contribution.
"Well, it seems that the need for dragonslayers has arisen again; I think we should take a look and see what has been stored within the crypt..."

Hans Olafsson |

Actually, a quick review of the thread:
5000gp reward for clearing the manor
2817.45gp reward for returning the contents of the cave
-25gp for songbirds
-330gp for potions (2 x Oil of Keen Edge, Potion of Undetectable Alignment, a Potion of Protection From Acid, Potion of Protection From Fire)
-750gp for Mithral Scroll Tube + Scroll of Permanency
Net gain: 6712.45 / 3 = 2237.48gp each.
Of course, that said, there really isn't a lot for us to spend money on, based on what I remember being available around town... That said, if there is anything anyone wants to buy, now *would* be the time to do it ;-)

As the meeting comes to an end shaking everyone's hands"Tank's fer tha gear an tha vote o' comfidenceity, we's'll do tha best we can ta sort it out, wroight." Bowing to the Duchess as they leave. Ting heads back to the inn for a good nights sleep.
Ting, getting up just before dawn, goes outside and uses the horse trough as a birdbath. He dips and prunes himself clean, then ruffling his feathers as he shakes himself dry spends a few minutes preening before he goes back to his room.
Looking around at the gear I believe I will test the new sword and kukri today, should get a feel for them if I'm going to keep them. Carefully attaching his bastard sword and sabre to his pack he keeps his chakrams centered in his back, and adjusts his mace to his left hip. He takes the new voidglass kukri and tucks it in his belt to cross draw with his right claw and placing the longswords scabbard on his right hip to draw with his left, he picks up his pack and goes downstairs into the inns dinning room.
He orders a plate of sausage and eggs with black bread and hot cider and waits for his two human friends to join him.
I don't think he has figured out that Felicitas is Aasimar, he's not too bright ;)

The next morning, after a big breakfast, you head out to the Crypt of Tula. The crypt is on the far end of Dragonfen and you follow the Old Quarry Road, pass the flooded quarry and after about one and a half hours of walking you reach the crypt. From afar you already see the remains of the slain dragon.
Even hundreds of years after the dragon's fall, its bones are an awe-inspiring sight. The skeleton has partially sunk into the bog, but enough remains that it still appears to be draped over a low earthen mound. On the side of the mound is a stone door with a single, rough keyhole.

![]() |

ting enjoys the pleasant walk down the Old Quarry Road, seeing the skeleton sunken in the bog he exclaims "Ya don't see 'at everydays now do ya, wroight!" When Hans invites ting to deal with the door he looks around and asks, "Do ya think 'is is tha door 'at tha key opens?" he starts tapping his pockets like he is looking for the key, he stops and hangs his tongue out of his mouth in a tengu smile "I's is just messin wit ya, I's don't want ta use no key, wroight" He then quickly checks the door for traps and if clear picks the lock.
ting will take 20 (31/33} on perception to check the door and 20 (40} to pick the lock

![]() |

You don't want to try Bassy's key? Ok :)
Ting examines the door carfully, but it is not trapped. He takes out his lock picking tools and although the crypt is locked with a fantastically complex lock, a few minutes later the door is open.
Inside is a 5-foot-deep alcove in which a 5-foot-wide shaft drops down into the ground, descending 30 feet.

![]() |

are we dropping into E2? We are still using Han's Ion stone for light, correct?
ting, not in a rush checks the alcove carefully, then turning to Hans asks "Oy, gov'n'r if'n you's ties 'at rope off I's'll drop in foist, wroight." As he gets to the bottom of the rope, he waits for Hans and his light then he carefully inspects the lower portion.
take 20 (31) on perception for the alcove, and for the bottom of the pit.

![]() |

Yes, you get down into E2.
Hans pulls out some rope and holds it while Ting descends into the shaft. The oval chamber has two large alcoves, each containing two child-sized stone sarcophagi. In the east end of the room, the shaft descends above a marble statue of a rearing warhorse.
Once down he checks for traps, but there are no traps installed. But Ting finds a secret door in the western wall.
I will wait for Felicitas to catch up, otherwise she would miss half of the adventure :D

![]() |

As Hans and Felicitas comes down the rope ting checks the hidden door for traps, as he calls up "Oy, 'air are kiddy size coffins an a hidden door, wroight"
take 20 (31)on perception looking for traps on the hidden door

![]() |

Ting opens the hidden door and looks around, then returning to Hans and Felicitas he asks, "Do you blokes tink we's should investigate tha kiddy size coffins er just leave em alone, wroight?" He then checks the small sarcophagus' for traps as well. just in case
should I just say 'standard operating procedure' or do you want the numbers for perception? :)

![]() |

ting calls back over his shoulders, with his tengu smile and a twinkle in his yellow eye "Could be halflin's or we's could make fer certain it ain't secrety rooms underneath, don't need's ta rob 'em just ta make sure 'ey ain't troubles, wroight"

![]() |

looking from the staircase back into the front room of the crypt, ting smiles his tengu smile and says "Anyways, 'eas 'ear steppy stairs looks much more bloody interestin' ta me, wroight" and turning back to the entry chamber he begins to descend the stairs. keeping a keen eye out as he goes.
standard operating pro... awww you know the rest. ;)

![]() |

Ting leads the group down the stairs into another oval room. A huge mosaic of a red dragon decorates the floor of this large chamber. To the north lie three circular alcoves, each with a single pillar of black marble in its center. To the south, in a single large alcove, a spiral staircase descends to a deeper level of the crypt. Four stone sarcophagi sit on the floor on the south side of the main room, two on each side of the alcove entrance.
Ting examines the room and finds the mosaic trapped, a trap that activates after someobdy steps on it. Disable Device DC20
An inscription in the mosaic’s center reads, “Red Azramo — Give the Dragon Her Due.” Azramo was the name of a red dragon slain by Tula and her mercenaries.
The four sarcophagi contain the bones of several of Lady Tula’s relatives. Each of the black pillars of marble in the northern alcoves has dozens of niches, each of which holds an urn filled with the ashes of a mercenary from the company Lady Tula founded.
Another spiral staircase to the south leads further down into the ground.

![]() |

As ting starts to look around he notices the mosaic on the floor is trapped, "Oy you's two stay nears tha steps while I's disable's tha trap," reading the print slowly he calls back "What does ya suppose "Red Azramo, give that dragon her due" bloody well means? wroight" he then begins to work on the trap in the floor.
disable device: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (9) + 22 = 31
After he disable the device "All's clear I recon, I's'll take a look see about, wroight." He carefully searches the room and checks the sarcophagus' for traps then asks, "What do you's two think about openin' these four fully sized caskets?"
standard operating procedure on the room and sarcophagus

![]() |

ting smiles as Felicitas gives him the information about the wesgtern sarcophagi, "'Ats bloody well beaut'ful, I's'l open it foist!" he toddles over to it and attempts to open it up. he intends to open the other two also, do we need a strength check?

![]() |

Ting opens the western most sarcophagi. Within it lie the desiccated
remains of an old Taldan fighter. He wears a ring on his left hand and a light steel shield on his right arm. They have a magic aura.
The other three sarcophagi also contain corpses of Taldan fighters, but clad in badly aged plate armor.
ring of strength sapping
+1 acid resistance light steel shield

![]() |

well those two items look shiny and new, that's very interesting. Ting fishes the shield and ring out of the western most sarcophagi and hands them to Felicitas asking, "Would you's mind takin' a look see at 'es, wroight." He then goes over and takes a careful look at the three pillars in their alcoves on the north side of the crypt.
take 10 [21] perception on the pillars

![]() |

Felicitas identifies the shield as a +1 light steel shield with acid resistance. The ring remains unidentified.
Ting examines the pillars. Each of the black pillars of marble in the northern alcoves has dozens of niches, each of which holds an urn filled with the ashes of a mercenary from the company Lady Tula founded.

![]() |

looking at the urns hope we don't end up in one of these ting turning to the team prepares to continue, "Air appears ta be two stepy stairs, one ta the west an one ta the south, shall we's go west foist?" then carefully following the steps to they west the proceeds deeper into the crypt.
S.O.P. (well that was easy to spell)

![]() |

Ting leads down the stairs, carefully looking for traps. The stairs lead down into an oval chamber. Near the east wall of this oval chamber is an altar, the front side of which is carved to resemble a winged eye. A chalice and a small leather-bound book sit atop the altar. In the north wall is a double door.
The ancient altar to have been devoted to the god Aroden, Lady Tula’s patron. The book is an antique tome of prayer for devotees of the Last Azlanti.

Hans Olafsson |

Well then, Hans will wait patiently (sword in hand) for Ting to open them, and he will then enter the room after Ting has given it the 'all clear' - either by not finding a trap, or disabling whatever one he finds within ;-)

![]() |

ting nods to the large barbarian smiling "why soitenly gov'n'r" Ting carefully inspects the room and the alter, if both of these are clear then inspecting the double doors he then opens them up.
S.O.P on room, alter and doors ;)
