Not a spoiler: I think OOTS is in Act IV now, much closer to the end than to the beginning. Rich Burlew has always said that he had a definite end in mind, and was working towards it. And he's been writing the strip nonstop since 2004.

I don't think it's going to end in the next six months. But I don't think it's going to be around five years from now, either. There's definitely a clearing-the-decks-for-the-final-book vibe here.

Macs are over priced for a machine that does nothing but play games and view internet. I'm not doing rendering, website design or anything adobe-product intensive.

That said, I fixed it.. I think. One of the plugs had gotten loose because it gets nudged everytime the side panel is removed.

Also I am fine assuming that several people keep their coin in my haversack...but if you happen to not be nice to Xen he just might charge you a fee.

I am keeping 1,000 gp for myself obviously. Everyone who wants to leave it in the haversack let me know. If you take it for yourself I will subtract it from the loot.

I think Cimu found out that the statue does some sort of explosion effect, once. But that it could also let the demons spy on us.

Inventory

I have a scroll of Mount presumably for Edmin's use, as well as Mount, Communal for the party's use if we need a speedy escape.

I did have a scroll of See Invisibility I realize belatedly and could have used it to perhaps find Nimby in the encounter with the captain, but DM has been working sooo hard for a recurring DM character I won't lose sleep over not remembering I had it. Pity about those spellbooks though.

I have a scroll of Levitate listed but I am sure it got used in the seal hunt encounter so I am taking it off my list.

I also had a scroll of Shocking Grasp which may have been used, either it was used or if I have it I will transfer it to Jax, checking through our notes now. I will take it off my records as well.

We need to recon the area before we try to turn this into a base. Also we need to know how far away we are from where we are supposed to do our job.
Recon to the town is a good idea, we need to know what we are dealing with.
A plausible cover story and supporting documents would be great also.

Agreed. I posted about forged paper work and cover story yesterday.

Merchants would not be good cover because, well we have very little to trade, not counting what we just found in the captain's cabins.

Perhaps you could pose as a very minor noble, the second son of a second son, who has taken up adventuring to gain your own fame and fortune, and we are your company.

Or we could be 'Used Ship Salesmen', Frosthammer cruises, under new management.

I did think Intimidate may have some uses too.

That being said maybe Dren can lend the headband of Cha to whoever is our main face as we enter the fortified town or wherever we are headed.

Actually while we are at it, on the next morning at Château Frosthammer the group will wake up to Xen serenading (inspire competence) Cуровую who is also under Fox's Cunning and Dren's Guidance and is deep in thought going through some of her book's maps regarding the region the party is in.

Also where could have Nimpy logically gone off too?

I would rather use guidance and assists than give up the headband. It costs me a 2nd level spell if it starts coming off and on.

Guessing that Nimpy will go straight for a city, like the one we are heading too. Best to get there and do whatever we need to do before Nimpy can set things in motion against us, if he so desires which I am guessing he might.

Do we know what city we are heading too and anything about it? Might be helpful to know if it is an armed citadel vs. a trading post.

Dren is also the infiltrator type. He has a good diplomacy and a very good disguise if needed. Bluffing isn't his strong suit but just wondering around fitting in he is fine. I know he is odd but he can fit in when needed.

mechabically there is no diff. But if I was running I would say you get diff info from a 25 check from xen and from judge. Just because he is scary. Know what I mean?

prob doesn't matter but it is worth thinking about. Judge is many things but he is not friendly

The judge is the best to be the noble while a few of us blend in and gather information. There is no harm in splitting into two groups as long as no one does anything foolish.
